Berlin-based imprint Lightronics kick off their schedule with a full-length album of experimental club sounds and post-ambient textures from label boss Sasha Zakrevska aka Poly Chain...Standout track, ‘Elisiv’, unfolds like a signal sent from a dark, concrete fuelled future. With ultra-filtered hi-hats slicing through a sea of warped arpeggios and fragmented bass, the track pulls the listener into an oppressive, sweat-soaked underworld. The echoes of a long-forgotten queen, Elisiv of Kiev, reverberate through the synths as the track morphs into an all-consuming ritual - twisting, morphing and spiralling through snare-less breakbeats and dissonant bass.

Cluster Traxx continue to push boundaries with the arrival of 'Birds of Paradise', the latest offering from Mexican producer Rodrigo Gutiérrez aka RodMan...For our premiere, we’ve picked 'The Flock', a track that unfurls like a sentient, cosmic gathering sent to twist your mind. It’s a stratospheric flight through warped, bird-like echoes from creatures dwelling on distant planets. The beat’s breakneck pace slices through the atmosphere, like a laser-guided sequence of spacey vocals and trance-kissed arpeggios. From the first kick, you’re thrown into a hypnotic vortex - percussive tension builds like a slow, deliberate drag through quicksand, each rhythm pulling you deeper into the void. The second minute brings a sudden shift - distorted lasers collide in a brutal solo, before the track erupts in a chaotic maelstrom of slithering synths and infectious polyrhythms, ensuring that 'The Flock' is a ritual for the senses, not just the body.

Marking her first physical release, Detroit-based producer @wetdogg joins Hold Me, the label of Manuel Gonzales (@mgun) and Ryan Spencer, to issue her debut album ‘pssssssp…‘ – an experimental wormhole of downtempo, electronica and leftfield pop.

Using the primitive technology of the password journal (often marketed to little girls to keep their secrets) Wetdogg uses the idea of the password journal to imagine a utopia free of the surveillance state in her album pssssssp…

Sounding similar to the output of the now defunct yet highly acclaimed Miami-based experimental record label Merck, particularly in the case of ‘Pistachio Island‘ album by ilkae, Wetdogg employs a medley of hardware to weave and manipulate a variety of synths, drum beats, textures and vocals into 10 intriguing and unconventional tracks sitting somewhere between the lines of James K, HTRK and Lolina.

Since its inception, Estonian imprint Liitheli has stood as a magnet for Baltic-bound adventurers of sound, channeling a distinctly off-centre sensibility. Their latest transmission comes from Tallinn-based polymath Rando Arand, whose latest opus ‘Child of the Internet’ feels like a conceptual USB stick plugged into the subconscious of Gen Z’s neural hard drive...Our spotlight turns to ‘Fiber-Optic Cable’, one of the album’s quietly euphoric outliers, a breakbeat meditation slathered in hi-res shimmer and digitised longing. Here, Arand spins a thread between IDM ambient kinetics and post-Myspace bedroom aesthetics. Snare ghosts and pixelated pads swim through a warm synthetic haze, while melodies glitch and refract like reflections in a cracked smartphone screen. It’s a track that captures the flickering intimacy of being online at 3AM, with no one else awake but your browser history and the hum of the router.

Alex Hall’s Manchester-based record label, @NATURALSCIENCES, celebrates its 10-year anniversary next month with the release of the fifth instalment of Embryo—a box set that bridges the imprint’s DIY punk-electronics roots with the '80s tape scene, Ukraine’s dungeon rap movement, and the contemporary underground.

The collection features a 22-track compilation showcasing artists such as Crawl of Time, Ineffable Slime, Iggor Cavalera, DJ Sacred, Mutant Joe, Mars89, Quiet Husband, and Svartvit. It also includes an EP from DJ Warzone—highlighted by a collaboration with Florian Kupfer—alongside a 7” featuring unreleased 1989 recordings from Osiris and SEEMEN, now pressed to vinyl for the first time.

A standout from the release, DJ Warzone’s contribution to Embryo immediately caught our attention, delivering raw, speaker-shredding DIY techno with an unhinged, roughneck energy. His collaboration with Florian Kupfer is an undeniable highlight, which we are delighted to premiere.

Ahead of the drop, Natural Sciences founder Alex Hall caught up with Austrian producer DJ Warzone to find out more about the origins of his release, their affinity for Basic Channel, and his affinity for the abrasive sonics championed by Endangered Species, L.I.E.S. Records, and LA Club Resource.

Released earlier this month, 'No Future 4 M.O.F.Os' saw Lyon-raised, now Montreal-embedded producer Kizi 404 navigate the electro slipstream with radical precision...The standout is opening track ‘Balayette Laser’. A sonic Molotov, crash-landing at 158 BPM in a no man’s land of spectral bass, acid and rapid-fire cowbell. Skewered arpeggios, tense, flickering - recall forgotten constellations swirling above a dancefloor. Vocals flit in like pirate radio signals from a submerged resistance. The revolution may not be televised, but it sure as hell has a sick beat.

Lithuanian label Coral Riffs return with another curveball release from label boss Statecoral, a séance of broken machines, a soft exorcism through patch cables and phantom frequencies...Our pick 'Animism' opens with mechanised chugs and decoded dreams that stretch into reverberated pockets of hyperreal ambience. Leftfield percussive jabs stutter in from the spirit world, while FX-drenched synths ooze and bubble like molten neon. Just when you think you're alone, vocals slip in, warped and whispering, guiding the track into second life: resulting in a spiralling dub beat.

For the 390th edition of the IA MIX Series we are thrilled to share a deep dive into jazzy neo-noir ambience from American producer Jacob Long, aka Earthen Sea.

Currently based in New York City, Long is a DIY lifer, with over twenty years dedicated to Earthen Sea's wide range of sounds from long-form noise and drone recordings, minimal dub techno, and ethereal ambient experimentation. Long spent his early musical years in the Washington, D.C. hardcore group Black Eyes, before heading to San Francisco with bandmate Daniel Martin-McCormick to work with Damon Palermo on Mi Ami.

While all three members branched off into their own solo electronic projects (Ital/Relaxer for Martin-McCormick and Magic Touch for Palermo), Long's work as Earthen Sea originated in the early 2000s. It began with longer experiments in drone and ambient before morphing into the icy dub techno many came to know from releases on Kranky and Lover's Rock.

Recent LPs, such as 2024's Recollection, have veered to ambient, dub, and jazz-influenced tracks that consistently deliver the goods. For his mix, Earthen Sea offers an exhilarating combination of gamelan recordings, jazz, and dub techno. You will find it an ideal companion for your morning coffee or a night drive through empty, foggy cities. We also got to catch up with Jacob and learn about reuniting with Black Eyes, how recent live sets have incorporated saxophone driven drones, and his life-long love of skateboarding.
