Friends are an essential part of life. They can help you get through some of your toughest times or they can cause you some of the worst pain. Growing up, people would naturally gravitate towards me. Whether at school or church, I was surrounded by people. But only a select few would be able to get close enough to me for me to consider them a friend. Those people were only considered a friend after showing me how selfless they truly were. Although some believe that friends are people who are there for you to have fun with, they also serve a purpose. A friend with a purpose is elite. As we get older, we must realize that we are all in different walks of life and have friends who serve different purposes in our life. Some friends are there solely to ensure you have a good time. Some friends are there to help you when you are in a bind while other friends are there for you to help when they are going through a tough time. Then there are the elite friends. These friends are the ones who are your all in one friends. They laugh with you, cry with you, celebrate your accomplishments, are your listening ear and are always there to hold your hand through life whether that be the good, the bad, and the ugly. This episode features my elite friends. We have been through so much together since high school and are now well into our late 20s with children. We have been through motherhood, marriages, failed relationships as well as becoming widowed and starting all over from ground zero all while holding one another’s hand to ensure we make it to the other side gracefully.
