Senegal's president Bassirou Diomaye Faye visited on Thursday neighbouring Mauritania on his first official trip abroad since his inauguration.
Both countries share offshore oil and gas wells and their exploitation is expected at the end of this year.
After Mauritania, president Faye is due to visit another neighboring country, Gambia, on next Saturday.
