Amid political tensions Senegal's minister of Justice updated on Tuesday the media on the recent release of hundreds of detainees.
According to Aissata Tall Sall this was done to relieve the prisons and end pretrial detention in the country.
So far over 300 prisoners have been released since last Thursday and others are expected to follow, disclosed the minister. About the release of the top opposition figure Ousmane Sonko and Bassirou Diomaye Faye his deputy party leader, 'everything is possible' according to her.
