UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Human Rights watch have both issued an alarming report today on the tense situation in Senegal following elections delay.

They are calling for urgent measures to respect human rights in the country.

Amadou Barry reports from Dakar.

On Monday, Dakar Senegal's capital was calmer than usual. Clashes

erupted in some neighborhoods of the capital. The police and

gendarmerie deployed a heavy security patrol in the streets. On

Sunday, the police cracked down on demonstrators who were protesting

against the chief of State to delay elections. Many among them are

reported arrested and some sustained injuries.
