U.N., Fatah, Egypt talk peace in Cairo

Palestinian, Egyptian, and international diplomats are convening in Cairo to discuss measures to avoid an all-out war on the Israel-Gaza front. The weekly clashes have been boiling over for months now, with semi-regular rocket attacks threatening to plunge the region into conflict. But the U.N.’s Mideast envoy says that after meeting with Egyptian officials, he is confident that all sides can resolve the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and avert regional war.

Iranian economy hits record-low

This is likely in anticipation of incoming U-S sanctions set to hit the regime on august 7th, following President Trump’s decision to withdraw the United States from the JCPOA Nuclear Deal.

Palestinian teen is new face of resistance

Yesterday a Palestinian teenager was released from prison after being convicted of harassing and slapping I-D-F soldiers near her home village in the occupied West Bank. Ahed Tamimi served an 8-month sentence following her plea of guilty, for an incident that was infamously captured on tape. Whether Israel likes it or not, young Tamimi is now the de facto new face of Palestinian resistance.
