Finance Minister Fayval Williams stated the figure as she informed the lower house today, of adjustments made to the budget, as outlined in the fourth supplementary estimates.

Mayor of Port Maria and Chairman of the St. Mary Municipal Corporation, Fitzroy Wilson has expressed concern about the possible impact of the cold front on farmers as they continue to recover from hurricane Melissa. 

The Meteorological Service last week advised that the weather system would begin on Saturday, affecting Jamaica until early this week.

Executive Director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA), Audley Gordon said the fire was put out this afternoon, with help from the Jamaica Fire Brigade. Mr Gordon told IRIE FM News that he received reports of the blaze around 11 AM yesterday.
