President of the People’s National Party (PNP), Mark Golding, is pressing Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness to respond urgently to the recent spike in neonatal deaths at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital.

Reports emerged last week that 24 newborns have died at the Kingston facility since June 1.

Transport Minister Daryl Vaz says the recently announced changes to Jamaica’s motor-vehicle registration and fitness certification processes will be delayed by a week.

He had said the validity periods for motor-vehicle registration and fitness certificates would have been extended effective July 1.

A man reportedly drowned after the motor vehicle he was driving plunged over the Portmore Causeway Bridge in St. Catherine this morning.

Opposition leader Mark Golding says no member of parliament affiliated with the People's National Party was referred for investigation, by the Integrity Commission's Director of Information and Complaints, in relation to the offence of illicit enrichment, in the last fiscal year. 

His statement comes after the commission's annual report tabled in the Senate on Friday revealed that two parliamentarians and 4 public officials, were referred for investigation for the offence.
