Police are reporting that a decomposing body, found in the trunk of a car in Gregory Park, St. Catherine yesterday is believed to be that of missing 8-year-old boy Navardo Blackburn.

Navardo went missing in Gregory Park last Saturday.

The child was said to be autistic.

Police Commissioner Dr. Kevin Blake says the month of May is seeing a 70% reduction in murders in comparison to the same period last year.

National Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang said Jamaica is currently recording 10 deaths per 100,000 citizens.

The mother of  Gia Griniell who was fatally shot at  home in Mandeville, Manchester last week,  will be facing the court, after being charged in relation to the 4 year old's death. 

Gia died from a gunshot wound to the head. 

Her mother, 38-year-old Yanique Brown reported to the police that she had put her children to bed and went to the bathroom when a loud explosion was heard.
