  • 14 - Fever Pitch - The Problems With Pitching Part 01
On today's pod, we have something special for you. Pitching is a topic that has universal interest across the industry and is an ongoing endeavour that touches all parts of the agency ecosystem from junior account execs, art directors through creative, finance, strategy and senior management.
Pitching is the lifeblood of every agencies business but the stats tell a shocking story.
    • Only 5% of pitched work gets produced
    • The average agency annual pitching spend is circa €1 million
    • Agencies are spending upwards of 15 % of income and 50 % of labour hours on pitching
On todays podcast, we’re speaking to former agency head and current pitch consultant Ray Sheerin who it’s fair to say has many thoughts on the topic.

    We spoke to Ray about
    • the background and numbers behind todays pitching industry
    • his thoughts and experience dealing with pitches from agency, brand and client sides
    • why the people in the room are the problem when it comes to procuerment.
    • the dreaded and omnipotent "blended rate"
    • his favourite Chemistry pitch memory
And many other points points beside, so much so that this will be two parter. You’ll hear part one on this ep with part two to follow in a future pod

  • 13 - The No Bullshit SEO Strategy for the AI Age
A Merrion Street power outage meant we were a man down when it came to guests this week. For that reason, this week's podcast will be the first in a one part series of mini marketing editions timing out at around 10 minutes.

We're making up for quantity with quality though. I caught up with Gavin Duff, Director at Friday Agency, and one of the speakers at the 3xe AI conference which took place in Dublin on Wednesday 26th November.

    Gavin spoke about
    • his No Bullshit SEO Strategy
    • bad actors giving crappy advice on linkedin
    • how SEO tactics are coming full circle
    • and whether prompt engineering is now a creative category

FInd out more about Gavin's books here
