Philippians 2:1-11 / Kameron Pugh

We are called to have the attitude of Christ.  Kam challenges us through the words of Paul this week to lay aside our pride and take on the humility of a servant.  Christ gave up His divine privileges to die for us, and in return, if we follow His example by living for others, we will find that it is truly better to give than to receive.

Philippians 1:19-30 / Kameron Pugh

Kam asks us to consider this week what our lives are all about. Paul proclaims for himself that "to live is Christ, and to die is gain." He is determined to live for what lasts, not for earthly pursuits that will never satisfy. Our desires did not die for us, but Jesus did, and that makes Him worth living for.

Philippians 1 :12-18 / Gavin King

Gavin King returns to Iron City this week to preach about joy.  He draws on references throughout scripture and discusses Paul's experience in captivity to emphasize that God should be the source of our joy.  Happiness can be taken away, but as long as joy is defined not by our situation but by our Savior, our spirits cannot be shaken.

Philippians 1 / Kameron Pugh

This week, Kam begins a new sermon series in Philippians.  In the first section of the letter to Philippi, Paul greets the members of the church there and reminds them of how much they mean to him.  He encourages them, and us, by saying that the Lord will not leave the work in His people unfinished.

Proverbs 20:10, 23 / Kameron Pugh

To transition us out of our summer series, Kam preaches this week on two verses from Proverbs 20.  The text tells us plainly that God hates unequal scales of justice.  The challenge becomes for us, then, to not only recognize that sin has led to societal inequality and oppression, but also to steward any privilege we are given well.

Matthew 6:5-14 / Demetrius Hicks

Demetrius Hicks preaches through the Lord’s prayer reminds us of the value of prayer and the amazing reality that we are known by God and have access to Him in prayer through Christ.

Psalm 46 / Kameron Pugh

Psalm 46 tells us that the Lord is a mighty fortress.  Kam emphasizes that image throughout this sermon and explains that the Psalmist is not calling us to self-confidence in our own strength, but to faith in the Lord as our protector.

Psalm 27 / Danny Brister

Danny Brister visits Iron City this week to preach from Psalm 27.  Throughout his sermon, he emphasizes the words of the Psalmist: the Lord is our light and salvation.  God's presence frees us from fear and should be sought out above all else.

Psalm 23 / Kam Pugh

Kam preaches from Psalm 23 to remind us that the Lord is our shepherd and in Him we have all we need. Kam goes on to discuss the parallels between our human characteristics and that of sheep, explicating the nature of the relationship we have with the Lord.
