Ben discusses the contrast between Ishmael, Hagar's son, representing a life of slavery to religion under the Old Covenant, to Isaac, Sarah's son, who represents a life of freedom in Christ under the New Covenant.

Galatians 3:15-29

On this Easter Sunday, Kam unpacks the repercussions of the curse from the fall of humanity in Genesis 3. Focusing in Galatians 3:10-14, he talks about how this passage shows us that Jesus took on the curse of sin in the crucifixion so that we might be free, drinking damnation dry for His creation.

This week, Kam explains Paul’s teaching of Abraham justified by faith. He spends some time reconciling the perceived conflict of the book of James to the book of Galatians, and emphasizes that we belong simply because we believe, and not because of any works that we can do.

We continue our study of Galatians this week by examining Paul’s reminder of God’s grace through Jesus’s sacrifice. Kam discusses how justification comes from who Christ is and what He has done, not by who we are or what we can do.

Using Paul’s interaction with Peter and the Gentiles as an example, James teaches on the obligation of Christians to not only rebuke racism in other believers, but also to fight the selfish tendencies in ourselves that can lead to exclusionary behavior.
