Millennials are especially
upset with the church for being too political, judgmental, and anti-homosexual. But
what do they mean by political? Are homosexuality and abortion political issues
or ethical issues and sinful issues, which could be very well addressed by the
Gospel? Is education a political issue, or a family issue? Definitions are
helpful. We review a World Magazine article written by Kevin DeYoung on
“Politics and the Church.” Is the church’s mission soteriological, or is the
church’s mission to teach everything Jesus has commanded in His Word (per
the Great Commission)? Do we equip the man and woman of God for every good
work, in every area of life?
