Island Hopping

Before we get into Rule #3, I want to pause for a moment and talk about something very important.  Something that’s vital not only for your life and your journey to be, but also for everyone else’s life and journey to be.  It’s a relational issue regarding the fact that you’re a sacred child of God and that God has showered you with grace.  This new identity and this new revelation about God’s grace, opens to the door to a new understanding of and relationship with others.

Why are so many people afraid to be real?  Why is it that there are people out there who are willing to climb a sheer cliff wall, without ropes?  Yet, this very same person would never consider being real with themselves, with God and with others?

Us humans are great at labeling ourselves and others.  So, let's be real, labels are unavoidable, on this side of eternity.  So, I propose that you accept a new label for yourself as well as for all others.

On this Island you’re invited to be real with yourself, with God and with others.  Your invited to surrender your secrets and take off your masks.  The only thing that you have to do, on this Island, is to be you.  Allow God to meet you, the real you, right here, right now.  And allow God to walk with you, into who you will become.

As a follower of Jesus, you can be many things.  But a hypocrite isn't one of those things.  It's time for you to get real with yourself, your God and with others.  Surrender your secrets and take off your masks.

This is my last ditch effort to give you reasons to believe.  Yes, the title of this episode does in fact connect to the fake conspiracy theory that was started by Peter McIndoe.  The point is this: There are fake conspiracy theories out there.  But Jesus ain't one of them!

It all comes down to relationship over and above religion.  Not that religion is bad, in and of itself.  But relationship is what God truly desires.  And the fact of the matter is that sometimes religion gets in the way of relationship.

Sweat equity is the contribution to a project or enterprise in the form of effort and toil.  It's the ownership interest, or increase in value, that is created as a direct result of hard work by the owner.  Now that you find yourself on the road less traveled by, it's time to sweat.
