We are back. Crazy week last week with installing a Localoop service on an ATC tower site. Todays show is a good one. We have Daniel White with SAF and Tasos Alexiou with Titan Wireless. Mr. White is a seasoned industry veteran with experience at all levels of the wireless broadband market. Mr. White entered the WISP industry in 2006 with a background in wireless (Ham Radio Operator since 1999 - KC0GIR) and computer technology. Daniel started as an installer for Mesa Networks after a career in the US Marine Corps. (THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNRTY!!!!) Mr. White quickly moved up the ranks to the network infrastructure team where he was personally responsible for over 80 tower locations serving over 5,000 customers. With the sale of Mesa Networks to JAB Broadband in 2008, Mr. White joined the former owners of Mesa to launch 3-dB Networks as the Technical Sales Manager reporting to the VP of Engineering and VP of Sales. In 2010, Mr. White left 3-dB to join BridgeWave Communications as the Director of Field Engineering for the West and Gulf States regions. Following a companywide layoff in December 2012, Mr. White spent a few months performing consulting work with Wireless Beehive Manufacturing before joining SAF Tehnika in March of 2012 as the Sales Manager for the West and Southeast USA. Mr. White is now the Managing Director for SAF North America, overseeing all aspects of the companies operations within North America and also serves as the Vice President of Project Management for SAF Services LLC. SAF Tehnika is a unique designer and manufacturer of point-to-point microwave data transmission equipment, delivering excellence in modern wireless data transmission technologies, creativity in solutions, accuracy in design, and precision in production and logistics.

JC is proud to be part of, and work with, the quality individuals that make up the team at GTC. Brandon Burke Director of IT Operations Brandon began with GTC as a level 1 support technician while going to college for computer science and network administration. Brandon started the development of GTC ' s internal software soon after joining the team. What was initially a foray into writing a call ticketing software expanded into a proprietary multi-module CRM software that GTC uses today to support their clients. In addition to being GTC ' s software developer he also oversees GTC ' s internal IT operations.

Brian Joseph Smith of Advanced, LLC is a communications sales engineer who offers consistent representation while serving the needs of today ' s business client. Brian ' s customers are traditional Internet Service Providers, WISP ' s, Data Centers, & Businesses with needs for streamlined communication services. Brian acts as a strategic liaison between local Internet service providers and large regional ILEC ' s & CLEC ' s. Brian has worked with service providers since 1998 when he was in operations managing 12 employees supporting over 4000 customers using services from DSL and Frame Relay to Domain management and hosting. These days Brian primarily works with Internet Service Providers who value his knowledge, availability, and timeliness in getting what they need. Brian ' s goal is to save companies money, and provide ongoing support past installation. There are many instances where Brian has saved service providers thousands just by making sure the Internet Tax Freedom Act is enforced to not pay state or local sales tax.

Jonathan McLean (Jon) is an agent with Risk Strategies, LLC and lives in the St. Louis, MO area. Jon has been an insurance agent for 12 years and focuses on insurance for technology accounts, especially telecommunication service providers. Over the past several years, Jon has developed a particular insurance niche for wireless internet service providers. Jon has been a member of WISPA since 2009 and has attended several WISP conferences to speak about insurance coverage for WISPs

Returning for his second show, is Brian Webster. Brian Webster Consulting (and wirelessmapping.com) were started to fill a need for affordable wireless engineering services for those who cannot justify the cost of hiring full time RF Engineering staff. With over 18 years industry experience, projects are approached with a creative eye and cost-conscious methodology. Services can be provided in just about every wireless area, from cellular and PCS to public safety, wireless Internet, WIMAX, municipal wireless, distributed antenna systems (DAS) and any other wireless system technology. Brian Webster Consulting ' s GIS integration capabilities allow inclusion of demographic data and market analysis data as overlays on any WISP RF engineering diagrams. Brian has extensive experience in municipal wireless (muni) network design. Most recently he was an RF Engineering Manager at Earthlink where he was responsible for designing the City of Philadelphia ' s muni wireless network. This is one of the world ' s largest wireless mesh deployments. Brian ' s responsibilities included reviewing and approving the work of Earthlink engineers and Motorola contractors. Today we will be speaking with Brian about the topic of a little known value added benefit being a part of the Wireless Internet Service Providing Association, WECAT. WECAT is another acronym standing for WISPA EMERGENCY ACTION TEAM. Elizabeth Bowles is President and Chairman of the Board Aristotle Inc., full-service interactive agency and Internet Service Provider headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas. In 1989, Elizabeth graduated summa cum laude (4.0/4.0 G.P.A.) from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a B.A. in International Studies. Elizabeth received her J.D. from the Vanderbilt University School of Law, where she was first in her class. She graduated Order of the Coif and was awarded the Founder ' s Medal. Elizabeth received the top score on the Arkansas Bar Exam in 1993 and is licensed in Arkansas and Washington D.C. as well as before the Supreme Court of the United States. After law school, Elizabeth clerked for Richard S. Arnold, then Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Following her clerkship, she was an attorney with the Washington, D.C. law firm Arnold & Porter, where she practiced in the fields of intellectual property and commercial litigation with an emphasis on international and technology law. Elizabeth currently lives in Little Rock, Arkansas, with her husband and 6-year old daughter. She is an active member of the Little Rock community, serving on a number of boards for community and charitable organizations. Elizabeth was the President of the Wireless Internet Service Providers Association (a national organization serving the fixed wireless broadband industry). She is Forum Chair of the Arkansas Young Presidents Association (YPO) and a member of the Arkansas and American Bar Associations.

Mike Rose is an experienced and successful business development executive with strong roots in several technology sectors. In 2006, after a long career in manufacturing, distribution and channel management he moved to the finance sector where he co-founded Tech Equipment Finance in 2009. With a nationwide presence, his company, TechEFI will lease or finance new and used equipment across a broad range of technology platforms. One of which we will be discussing today is broadband wireless and the WISP segment.

Chris Sisler started Netlinx 17 years ago (1996) as a dialup internet service. Netlinx started offering wireless broadband Internet in 1998, and was the first to bring broadband to his area. Frontier and Comcast started offering service in the area he serves several years later. After Comcast upgraded to Docsis 3.0 in our area around 2008 our service began to shrink. In late 2009 Ubiquiti came out with airMAX which with the aid of RF Armor allowed us to compete and even grow again. RF Armor was created for Netlinks but took off and is now a multi Million Dollar a year business selling product in over 20 countries. Due to technical difficulty this interview was cut short at 35 minutes into the show.

Rick Harnish, executive director of WISPA speaks about how successful WISPALOOZA was this year. Rick will share with us some of the statistics on the show from the surveys sent and received. We will discuss what you were telling the association on what could have made the show better and what you liked about this years WISPALOOZA.
