A new Education Ministry policy bans smartphone use in Israeli elementary schools during school hours. The ministry said the policy is aimed at reducing distractions and strengthening children's social and emotional skills. Dr. Asher Weller, Academic Director of the Youth Addiction Division at the Israel Center on Addiction and Mental Health, spoke to KAN's Naomi Segal about the impact of screen use on children.
