I feel like I really I'm so mad. I promise myself the next time we had Fred on, I would have ominous music cued up for the background and I failed
If you don't know who that faces in the bottom left, or if you're listening to the podcast after we are joined by the illustrious one, um, one of our, the best guests we've ever had, and he's been gracious enough to be on the show for a third time. Mr. Fred Brown, sir. How are you? And now you didn't need to wear a tie on our behalf. I got, uh, I, I, I was meeting the appropriate standards, so I appreciate, you know, what we thought that everything was kind of making sense. Right? You made, you brought the world to our fingertips. You started to make sense and give a stats. And it seems like since you left us, the planet has completely on that right. Going on. Oh man. Yeah. So yeah, the covert writer is really the tough one. It turns out, uh, we're we're finding out the good news is we're finding out more about it. The
Bad news is that we're not managing very well, especially in the Americas. So if you look at the coven outbreak,
    You don't say [inaudible]
Okay. 60% of it between kind of a U S and Brazil. And uh, yeah, we, we made, we made some, some tactical areas. We, and it's just completely unforgiving, you know, this is about nature. So if you, you know, if you make a mistake with nature, it's just, it's just merciless and that's, that's where we're at. We're at right now. Uh, I ran some numbers just so you, if you're interested in for sure. And, and um, yeah, you know what I, uh, hold on,
Honestly, I feel like we're seeing the, basically the effect of the numbers that you showed us the last or the first time you were on where this is not a one, like even, okay. You hear about, you know, the, uh, the R T value and it's okay. It's just over one. That doesn't mean that for every like one person infects one person we're seeing that skyrocketing exponential growth rate right now, which is super concerning.
Yeah, it is. If you know, the epidemiology is about numbers, eyebrows, and numbers, everyone's kind of coming in at about 200,000 through, uh, September one. That's a lot of people in, out of state to die right now, death count. And by end of next year,
Wait a minute, wait, wait, wait, hold on. I want to make sure I understood. Okay. So 200 that by September.
Yeah. September one, we can do it
    Only at 130,000 now.
Yeah. Wow. Spike and a couple two to three weeks, but if we're not lucky and it keeps going, then it will be definitely I have a tip. It spikes like you think the, you know, at around about three weeks in terms of new cases, then we have to wait four to five weeks for the death rates and, uh, and the, and the decline. And so September one likely, you know, certain kind of labor day timeframe, it'll be about a thousand. And, and unfortunately if we run the numbers, you know, for what we're expecting by the end of next year, by end of 2021, uh, even if we have a partially available vaccine, and even if we do some smart things, uh, we'll probably be close to a million.
So, and I guess that actually feeds into a, like one of the questions here, what he said. Yes, I, yes, I did. Yeah. Um, I'm trying not to drink more right now that, that, uh, that no, but like, so like that, that's one of the things that cause, and this dovetails with what we were just talking about, which is why I want to talk about that is I'm seeing a lot of, I don't know if they're bad math or uninformed arguments that are saying, okay, all these, we're seeing all this skyrocketing in cases, but everybody says the death rate is declining, so it's no big deal. Right. So, and I've, I've Fred, I've done my part. I've, I've tried, but I am only me. So tell people why that, the case, like why are we seeing, you know, 15,000 a day and you know, Florida and Arizona, everybody else, but we're not seeing that one to one ratio yet.
Yeah. Well it turns out that the death rate overall, compared to what we're seeing out there is to planning, uh, slightly. And that's because, uh, it's a younger population. Uh, we're getting a little bit better treating this. Uh, and, uh, and, uh, and, uh, we are testing a little bit, a little bit more. And so the death rate comparatively, um, uh, is, is it's about we, we think the don't work, we're still not sure what the exact death rate is. Uh, we think it's around between 0.7 and 1.25, give you a sense of that. Hulu is it's 0.01. So there's not, you get the 0.1%. You're talking about something that's 10 times more Debby than the flu. The reason that we're not sure it's because of the, there's a, there's a mutation, that's a third. So if you look at Chicago, Northwestern just reported, they're actually three different screens in Chicago.
And one of the strains is about four and a half times more, uh, more effective than the other two. Uh, and so what we're, and unfortunately it also goes into the nose a lot more. Uh, the original Chinese buyers sort of split into one, and I know it's, but equally this one, but for folks in the nose, and unfortunately the nasal STEM you'll have faculty STEM. Uh, it allows that that particular virus to get into the brain more effectively. So we're seeing a lot more central nervous system results, uh, as well as this new virus with, for transmittable, uh, new strain, we call the complaints played three, uh, in this case has moved into the population. The next year is more prevalent than the original Springs were. So we're having some challenges, just kind of understanding some of the basics about the epidemiology of the, uh, of the virus. And it could be, yes.
What was some of the new information coming out that all the autopsies that are getting returned are, uh, an abnormal amount of blood clotting? Is that a newer strain or what's a, what's the story with that? So, and that actually dovetails into the question that I was going to ask, which, you know, basically it comes down to, you know, so we're only, only, we're only a few months into this relatively speaking, you know? So, I mean, I think that's the hard part is what don't we know yet. And like, you know, like when it comes to longterm effects and what are we still learning?
So believe it or not, when you look at the number of resolve cases versus the number of the people who are still sick, uh, there are about 53% of our population that still was reporting, being sick. There are unresolved cases, so they're, they're out of the hospital, but they're still having symptoms that are similar to what they've had in the past that got them into the hospital in the first place. And a lot of patients are flying back a month, two months afterwards and showing viral load increases again. So it's sort of pumped down viral, comes out in little peaks, two to three months out. And we're, I feel that that's a re-infection with some doc cause they're saying, or which means that, and unfortunately in the reinfection, but they're seeing if they, if they are true that the Nunes system, uh, you know, develops antibodies, you have some antibodies for about three months apparently. And if you've got a fairly decent medication and then the antibodies just appears, we will, aren't saying, Hey, I got some antibodies and they're going out and getting infected. And it turns out the second time you get this thing, it can be extremely dangerous and even worse, worse than the first, then your first bout of it that's happened three or four times. I don't have it go. We're looking at that pretty carefully,
Like chickenpox, like, like if you get like a mild case, it might not stick and you might not have the immunity and then you get like, and then the sec, and then if you get it again, it's Oh my God. So much worse
That can happen with chickenpox moving to shingles. That's exactly right. And that's a daily fevers, another one where you get at once and that's what have, you know, you're out there. If you can get anybody to get again, it just keeps you like a ton of bricks.
They need to rename both of those, by the way, because every take me see it, like I got shingles, it's kind like, Oh boy, I hope everything's okay. Like Lyme disease or like, Oh, well, you know, what'd you drink too much, like too many Corona, like, you know, anyway. Um, but no, I'll go back to the blood clotting.
Oh, I'm sorry. Yes. The blood. So here here's what happens....

  • Episode 355 – Still Figuring Out HBO MAX, Microwaving Books and Money, Catching Up
Welcome to the one and only IT in the D show. This is episode three 55, happy Canada day happy 4th of July. Um, on behalf of all of us, we hope that a multi Claus brought you your syrup into quality using the States. We hope that kid rock brought you your fireworks and Bush light, 30 packs. Um, we are broadcasting live from our homes, actually have all of our fingers. Um, this is Bob, the sales guy that is David geek. Randy, I do the Twitters is doing the Twitters.

Oh, by the way, breaking news, uh, Trey Parker is still going to be the voice of mr. Hankey, even though he is not a piece of shit.
Yeah. I mean, it depends on who you ask, I guess,
Find us online it in the D dot comma. Do us a favor, give us a like on the socials and subscribe to us everywhere or I guess our soul.
Uh, yeah. And so, you know, again, uh, just in case you've missed the last couple episodes, we've decided we're holding off until August for any of our events. I actually just killed off the, uh, the, the one for July for Anarbor. Uh, and so yeah, you know, when things get nice and safe and mellowed out again, uh, we'll, we'll be more than happy to get everybody back together. Cause God knows we miss people. Um, but yeah, such is life. It is what it is. We're trying to stay safe.
I looked at my calendar for this week, just from Google and Friday was supposed to be the ministry came at DM concert and I'm like, Hey, good. It got postponed and good. Cause I'm, can't walk still. So a double good. Um, but yeah, April next year. But then, uh, I found Judas priest. It's kind of weird. Uh, went on sale for the Fox Lasar um, like in September. So I'm like, cool. I like a good heavy metal show. Um, tickets are like a hundred bucks. So I'm like, okay. You know, for like early, like, and there's nothing sold. Like if you go to Ticketmaster right now, you can get like fifth row seats, um, all the way around the box,
Dude. Well, I mean that that's too early. I like, I'm sorry. That's that's what three months from now? Ish. Wait. No. Yeah, no two months from now. Um, and so, I mean, looking at it, looking at what's going through with, um, you know, Miami just shut down all their bars, restaurants, beaches, gyms, yada, yada, you got Arizona in the midst of all this guy, did it like it's no, this isn't going to be cleaned up in two months at all.
Who knows? That's what I like. Yeah. Cause I'm thinking like, Hey, I want to buy the tickets.
Nope, no sight, no Bob science knows. It's not going to know. Let's be clear. Science knows it's not going to be done.
Well, you know, you know, you don't, you don't never know it could be a vaccine come out. It could just go away. Who knows, or it could be, or a, you know, it could be a world mass hysteria for the next three months. And you know, more people turn into HOA presidents, you know,
This is true. Well, and so I do, I love the meme. That's been floating around that said, uh, if nothing else, 2020 has proven to me that time travel is real because they keep going back and trying to fix things. But then they just wind up making it worse, like the premise of every time travel movie ever known to mankind. And so, you know, that's why the murder Hornets, uh, disappeared. Uh, but now we have the bubonic. Plague is back in China.
    Is that B O O B or
No? It'd be, you know, there, there are no boobs on people's necks. It, it is, it is bubonic,
No plague. And I'm like, Ooh, is that good?
No, it's no, it's not your girl standing behind you while you're sitting down. It's that's not, that's not what this is.
    Damn it,
There are plenty of cases of bubonic plague in the American Southwest over years. It's dry and true. A so it's not an unusual thing.
Yeah. But Hey, uh, real quick, America's uh, getting ready big, get back to work with the win, the new economy. You need to take advantage of every advantage to succeed. Smart companies run on NetSuite by Oracle, the world's number one cloud business system with NetSuite, your visibility control over financials, HR inventory e-commerce and more everything you need all in one place, whether you're doing a million or hundreds and millions in sales net suite lets you manage every penny with precision. You'll have agility to compete with anyone work from anywhere, run your whole company, right from your phone, join over 20,000 companies that trust net suite to make it happen. You know, they surveyed hundreds of business leaders and assembled a playbook of top strategies they're using as America reopens for business to receive your free guide, seven actions, businesses need to take right now and schedule a free product tour, visit netsuite.com/it and the D to get your free guide and schedule a free product to it right now, go to netsuite.com/it. And the deep Oracle's always here
Super like no pun intended because it's NetSuite, but they've always had super sweet products like Oracle. Like they went through, um, their little down stock and they're little downturn. Um, but I mean like even back in, you know, I remember when eight I came out and it was like, and that was shit 25, 20 years ago now. Um, you know, and that basically like revolutionize the way like database systems work in the enterprise. So I mean it's, and I've kept tabs on them. They do good stuff.
Yeah. I was an early adopter of NetSuite actually when I was working, uh, um, doing the international trade thing back in like, Oh three. So yeah, I've been a big user, big proponent of them. Yeah. Um, so, uh, my, my new show I had binged through and I don't know if you've got a, got a chance to watch it, um, was called upload. I don't know. Did you get a chance to
Not going to lie? I couldn't understand. Cause all you sent across was upload on Amazon prime and I'm like, did Amazon just enable an upload feature where I can put my shit up there.
It's a show and here's the pitch meeting and I'll get into my next hotness after this. Um, so the pitch meeting is okay, so it's a total recall, but you're dead and that's the show.
So it's the black mirror episode of San Jacinto.
    So here's the
We're sending you to pero, sorry,
I don't remember that one, but here's the, um, the premise. So like right before you die, you're basically they take your consciousness. Basically they take your head and then they upload it into like a second city. You choose like, Hey, I want to be in this world. I want to be in that world. I want to do this. I want to be in Vegas. I want to be on the, on the Lake. And then there's other people. The funny thing is they kind of trash on microtransactions, which is the funniest part of the show. Like while the guys walking in the hotel, like the guy who like, would you like some gum from truly is, it's a delicious treat. And then there's like, he grabs one and it charges 99 cents to his ex wife or ex-girlfriend because it's owned by Verizon. They call it horizon.
So it's horizon presents. And so like the guy's dead, but you can like call the living. So it's got this weird, uh, you know, you can like, like as long as she's paying the bill, like your, your, your conscience is living through this avatar. So then there's like the tech support people are called angels. And so like, they can make you whatever. So like she was messing with the guy who was being a jerk. So she like, he flipped her off. So she raised his middle finger, you know what I mean? Like, so like you can make people, they can make people look however they want to look, if that makes sense. Gotcha. Um, I don't know if it's funny or not, but it was definitely worth it. I enjoyed all like the technology jokes and like the, the kind of trashing and microtransactions that they made it funny to me. My dad probably would think it's stupid.
I'll give it a watch. Sounds interesting. But I just finished, you know, burning through a couple of shows. So yeah. Why not?
Well, the funniest part, I guess the funniest part was the people that couldn't afford, like to be in the good land they're in like the two gig capital land, which is like prison, pretty much prison. And if you, if you like use up too much energy, you use up all your gigs. You basically just freeze until the, it started the next month. And then you get your two gig back. Um, so like, like don't you can't like you used up a gig and a half. You can't move now for the next three weeks. Anyway. It's like I said, it's, it's a, I thought it was great. Um, so speaking, speaking of pitch meetings, that's the other one that was that I caught onto it's they've been going on for a couple of years. I don't know how I just missed it, but it's that it's a guy talking to himself pitching movies.
And if you saw like, like I saw episode seven, eight, nine, he did, he did all the star Wars. You have any does like the joker. So he's like, so you're telling me as taxi driver and he's like, yeah, reboots are hot. So like, they go back and, but man, I got down a wormhole with pitch meetings. They had, he has them for like, there's like a hundred of them literally. So you can do like really any movie you've ever watched in the last avatar, like any destroys, any movie you liked or you thought it was like, destroys him, like the plot hole, you know what I mean? Like, like, wait a minute. What about this part where he did that? Like, we don't forget about that. You know, like
It's a continuity issue. We'll just, we'll we'll skip over it. They'll never notice it.
What about at the beginning when they said, you know, yeah. Was just like, no, no, no, that that's not important. Right.
I finished burning through, um, uh, the Mandalorian documentary, uh, uh, and I forgot what it was called. Um, but it's the eight part documentary about the Mandalorian and like, and they talked about like the effects, both special and practical. Um, and one of the things they talked about was, and this is how petty star Wars fans are. Um, which another good story segue coming up momentarily. Uh,...

  • Episode 354 – Life Behind The Bar in the COVID World
Hey, welcome. Thanks for hanging out with us. This is the it and the D show. We are broadcasting live from our homes and from the bar. Um, this is Bob, the sales guy, Dave, the geek, uh, Randy, I do the Twitters is doing the Twitters, uh, guests this week include, we got the Mikey from the old shillelagh downtown, and we got August in the house, old friend from whiskey in the jar and Hamtramck. We're going to be talking about life behind the bar, and now that things are slowly opening up. And then also we've got a ton of stories going on. We've got his big boys gone forever. We're running out of pennies and Dave, you may fire when ready? Wait, wait. I don't think we can get started until I get some shredded cheese for my fajitas. Oh, good Lord.

Alright, go ahead, Bob. Hey, welcome. What is going on? This is the it and the d show. Can we still call it the it in the d show, we got to rename it. And at some point, Judy, Bob did, I've been, I've been lobbying for two and a half geeks for four years now. Can you still be Dave? I don't know. We'll figure that out later. This is episode three 54. We are broadcasting live from either our quarantine homes or the bars in one of them in Hamtramck. This is Bob, the sales guy that is Dave. The geek Randy. I do the Twitters is doing the Twitter. You can find us online at [inaudible] dot com. Give us a like on the socials and subscribe to us everywhere. Fine podcasts are sold. We, uh, and again, we've talked about this before. Uh, we are, uh, Lee, we're leaving events out, uh, until August, no pun intended.
Uh, and we'll, we'll be bringing them back then. We'll do something outside and yeah. So that's, that's the update there. So yeah. Hey, just like we just introduced earlier, we have two illustrious guests, friends of ours for very, very long time. Both of them bartenders, we kind of want to do, uh, discuss, um, what life was like a behind the bar. We, we, you know, a few of us have been to the bar, but, uh, joining us is, uh, Mikey from the old Shalala downtown Detroit, sir. How have you been, haven't seen you in awhile? Uh, I've been well, man, uh, just getting used to this non quarantine stuff and living the life and working, uh, dealing with all of the wonderful public. And then now this is a, it's actually a first for the show. We've been doing this for what? Seven years. We haven't had anyone ever calling live from the bar. August gets legs in the house. I mean, we've, we've done live broadcasts from bars, but we got August in the house. He is actually tending bar right now at whiskey and a jar down in Hamtramck, sir. How you doing? You're on mute bud
August. I'm actually not working tonight, but I figured it'd be fun to come here and show you just exactly what we're looking at
These days at afar in Hamtramck. Uh, ms. Katie is pretty much by herself with a few people outside, a couple of regulars. And that's about the state of the world down here. Yeah. So odd. I'll start things off with you like life behind the bar. Like, so I started trickling into a few bars. I live out everyone, you know, I live on Rochester Hills, Auburn Hills, um, the bars out here pretty much business as usual. Um, a couple of them took out a couple of tables. Most of them like the open air ones in Rochester Hills are still the same. Dave was telling stories about going to, uh, with down a Cass corridor. They haven't set up like a, like a seven mile gas station with a plastic barricades and little, little windows. So some people are taking it to huge extreme, some people aren't, I guess what's your take on, I guess, the new normal behind the bar?
Well, it really depends on where you are. Like I went up to a bar in McComb County last week. I walked in and right walked right the hell out. Any place where you can buy beer by the bucket seems to not be following any protocols. There was no hand sanitizer around the same amount of bar stools. They might have tables. They don't mind everyday. You come down here. Everyone's pretty much following the rules. I walked into a place downtown, half the bar, stools, half the tables. It's all about your local enforcement. And I understand that different areas, the city feel different political views about what's going on, but behind the bar, it's very bartender driven. We take the bar stools away and then by, you know, one 30 in the morning, there's a few of them have found their way back up to the bar and just kind of deal with your friends and try to keep them, you know, the wear their masks when they're ordering. So Katie Palona Sera is working, does not tolerate that. She's only tolerating it because it's me. I guess that was the, this reminds me a lot of when smoking got banned originally, there was, there was a hard line. There was not any, Oh, I'll just lay it up. No one on mine. No, it was, it was, there was no middle. It was, it was off. Right. You're you're going to go outside and you're going to smoke with this. It seems like there's this weird yet? Depends on the bar.
I was like, well, yeah. I mean, well, and let's be real with the smoking thing. It really kind of dependent on where you were. Um, you know, a lot of the bars on the East side, you know, put the tip jar out and just said, Hey, throw some cash in. So if they come in and find us, we got it covered. Oh Jesus.
Yeah. I kind of remember those days. It's still a bar down here. It still exists. So I guess Mikey bringing you in old [inaudible] it's one of the, uh, you know, I would say top 10 oldest bars in Detroit, at least from, from my standpoint, it's one of the, one of the mainstays, um, I guess what's life like behind the bar by you are obviously things are different, but like,
Well, and keep in mind, Shalala closed literally right before st. Patrick's day, which, you know what, you know, that, that kind of like bank rolls your year.
Yeah. St. Patrick's day and opening day. Yeah. That's huge chunk for us. Um, bartenders are basically, uh, turned into cocktail servers right now. Uh, we're taking care of all of the tables and stuff. Uh, we, it wasn't until this weekend we allowed people to come to the bar, but there's like, we set up four tables, uh, going long ways. So not out to the bar, just like connect to the bar. So people still can't pass those tables to order. Um, they have to stand at one of those tables and you can congregate four or five people tops there and you have to stay at that table. And or when you're at any other table, you have to be at those tables. We actually have a really good friends in the park, right guys, the guys that own the parking lot behind us, we've been dealing with the Aubrey's for years.
Like ever since, you know, my dad was working downtown and stuff. And so they are, uh, being very nice and generous and letting us finagle and see how, what works for us as far as extending our outside patio into a, the parking lot to therefore put more tables and get better business in. But it's the same, it's the same thing, man. People are going to do what people are going to do. And the fact that people have to be told four or five times to put their mask on when they're walking around, uh, people have to be told that, look, I get it. There's a DJ here, but the PJ's here so it can provide different sounds. So we're not just listening to Pandora, a full song. That could be a good, a good vibe going on. But
So we're not listening to Bob and Dave take over the jukebox. Yeah.
But there's still no dance. Right, right.
Worse than both of us combined. True.
That's true. I get very there's you guys look, man, I'm pretty sure the T and it stands for touched.
    That's what it is. It's it's a MIT in the D that's. Yeah. It's the AMI
    Am. I
Just wrote, Mike wrote our Alma mater
Kudos to you, sir. That's what I do. Um, but yeah, so people are like, you know, doing the dance floor thing and it's like, the DJ literally stopped and said, Hey, move. There's like eight feet here. And for some reason, 10 of you want to crowd into it to start dancing. When we don't have a dance floor, he has stopped it. He put, he has put on Miley Cyrus, uh, to cause that no one dances to Miley Cyrus. Right. Um, Randy does, Randy doesn't even do. Randy's like, okay, wrecking ball. Got it. Got go
In. The USA is not terrible. Is here. Welcome to episode three 54 beat on Randy. That's going to be the title of visit.
    That's nothing bad for him.
    I didn't, I didn't say off. I said on,
I was thinking, but yeah. So people were still coming up to the bar. We had to say, get back six feet. We're not going to serve you. We're apparently the problem because we're enforcing rules. Uh, you know, we have to be like, we're not the governor. We didn't set these rules up. We just have to follow them. Uh, you know, I, I commend what, uh, the Shalala has done. You know, even the health departments come in and said, didn't have to tell us to move anything. They just were like, just put a couple more signs up. You know what I'm saying? So add a little bit more six feet, add a little bit more of this. Um, but it doesn't matter what we do because the customers are just doing whatever they want to do. And it's impacting us, which is a problem.
Like not the business, but like the staff, like we stay away from. Right. Like I, yes, I've had COVID-19 but nobody knows specifically what happens anymore. Right. I could still get it again. There's reports now saying that the immunities, the antibodies don't last very long. It lasts a couple months. Well, guess what I had at st. Patrick's day that's two or three months, these antibodies aren't protecting, I'm not guaranteeing, they're protecting me from anything. I just, just help people out, man. But they don't care. And because they don't care, you've seen things like in the temple bar, in Detroit, which, I mean, they shouldn't have been doing that anyway. A Mexican Fiesta out in Dearborn just went back down to, uh,...

Alright. Hey, welcome back this three 53 of the it and the D show. And like we said, we are a Randy lists and guest list this week. Cheers everybody. We're also a pros. We're also a couple of days late, uh, due to technical difficulties, go figure Highland for everything. Um, we're broadcasting live from our homes. If only we had, if only we knew technology, people that could help with our technology issues who knew it would apparently none of them could fix zoom. You're having it problems that I'm like, did you, is it plugged in? Is it turned on to have you rebooted, but Hey, you can find us online at [inaudible] dot com to his favorite. Give us a like on the socials and subscribe to us everywhere. Fine podcasts are sold. So, and as per usual, uh, we, uh, in case you missed the announcement last week, uh, we have decided to kind of hold off doing our in person events until August.
Uh, so we will be setting those up shortly. Um, of course that's assuming everything is still open by the time August rolls around. Cause if you're paying attention, uh, places that opened up are starting to close back down again. So we'll see how that goes. I'm going to be a weather regardless of what it is. It's going to be an outdoor venue. I think we're going to pick Nancy whiskeys down in Corktown. Uh, we're going to see how this all plays out. We should just, we should just have it at like the DCF C soccer field, just we'll we'll all be outside. I think like I saw a thing from rhino. They're doing a wrestling event in the middle of like an eight acre farm. Well, no, it's behind the, uh, the SOC, uh, and it's, they've actually been th they were actually talking about doing it cause you know, we've been running their show for them.
Um, they were talking about doing it, uh, at the, at the Marina at, uh, at rhinos Marina. We talked about that when I was hanging out. Cause it's, he's got a huge grab a lot. Yup. Oh, by the way, I, um, I got gotta, it's been a little bit of a bittersweet couple of days. Um, we had a couple of celebrations and a couple losses. I just, you know, I just want to throw it out. Um, me and my wife celebrated our 18th on Monday. That was kind of a, you know, half of it was a tech support for this show, but that's all right. What we're here for. My daughter just turned 16 and Hey, excellent job keeping that, ah, keeping that surprise a surprise by the way. Oh yeah, we, um, she still didn't believe it was hers. Um, we get, we give, we, uh, I didn't do the big red bow, but we didn't look very excited.
I gotta tell you the picture she did. She was, she was shocked. She was like, is this mine? But it was, it was well worth it. And then, uh, had a couple of losses, uh, um, Merissa Morocco, one of them, one of my closest friends, uh, his older sister died of cancer. And, you know, without whom we would not have the flavor flave stories to be telling. I mean, that was, that was all her arranging and yeah. And her, uh, every party asking for diamond girl from nationwide, whatever. Um, but yeah, we're, uh, super sad that families are super sad, but, uh, she's been fighting for a long time and she's, uh, hopefully not in any pain. Absolutely. And then, uh, and your cat dude. So yeah, I mean, well, I mean, she was 17 and you know, she was just 17 now. Uh, I mean 17 years old and you know, hadn't really been eating right lately and apparently it was going into kidney failure and lost a shit ton of weight lately.
Um, and so it's, it is, I mean, that's that hardest decision when you have pets is listening to them when it's, when they tell you it's time to go. And then so yeah, that was today. So that was, uh, that was a bitch, but seven 17 is a good life for, for any pet. Oh, for sure. Absolutely. Um, but Hey, uh, brighter, brighter topics. Jesus, let's get off that. So I don't get all weepy and blow my cover as a Dick. Uh, um, so no, so we did mention, you know, Hey, as long as places are open, um, I know I got out and about a bit. How about you? Yeah, I, um, got to the barber on Saturday. That was, uh, that was amazing for what to shave my head. Oh, Oh. Like when you're like, I'm like half bald, like, right. So like get only like, so like when it grows out, it looks awful.
Like it looks horrible. And I tried to do the beard trimmer thing and it looked, it was even worse. Um, and my beard was getting sanely long, so yeah, I'd get a little, uh, trim on the side and, you know, it took longer to trim the beer than it did to cut my hair before. So, uh, but it was a, you know, felt like a million bucks when you left. And I, you know, I left the curly stash still nice for me. Um, yeah, I mean it to a, Duffy's low the local corner bar here. Um, kind of funny, uh, some of the places around town, like I think you, uh, were talking to you that they really took precautions. Duffy's took out a couple of tables, um, to Ralph Lou in Rochester Hills. Like the windows were open outside every table had a somewhat on it. Yeah. I mean, it was, it was interesting. So Friday, um, I went down to Detroit shipping company, uh, and we've kind of talked about, you know, their plans. They removed the migrating, everything outside. Um, it's cause I went down there cause you know, we've got our studio, there were, you know, reopening the studios now. And uh, so I had to put the TV in there, uh, that I had never installed in there before. So that's up and running. So now we can have zoom guests for there and keep the in the studio down like
We're trying to do. And what they've done is, so for those of you who are familiar with it, you know, the layout, but if you aren't, so there's an indoor courtyard, which is where like all the tables were like in the center of the room with ringed, by all the restaurants. And then there's an outdoor courtyard that had a big tent over it. And then there was the back parking lot. Well, the big tent that was in the outdoor courtyard is now in the back parking lot. All of the tables that were in the indoor courtyard are now gone. They have been converted to booths that they built in the back parking lot. So there's like, there's literally no parking, um, in the back parking lot anymore. Cause it's either, uh, the cupboard tables with the tent or the booths. And they built, you know, these booths with little canopies over them.
Cause we all know, I mean, other than today, of course it's been pretty hot and sunny lately. Uh, and they're making a run into that way and there's no, uh, there's no walk up to the bar to get drinks. Everything is you have to be seated. Uh it's tableside service. And so that's kind of one of the challenges that they're having there right now is like their staff, like the only people they've ever had on staff have been bartenders and bar backs. And, and so now they're trying to convert them to waiters slash waitresses. Um, well that's the one thing we were always concerned about was who, you know, who, if anyone's coming back to work, are they just sitting on their hands, waiting for the call or they're like, no way I'm not coming back or they're like, you know, it was kind of a mixed bag.
Um, so I know it was like I said, I was there Friday. Um, and, and had a, it was nice to see, you know, some of the bartenders that I knew and that kind of stuff and some of the staff and, and it's still only brew hoe and coop, uh, that are open from a restaurant perspective. Uh, look amazing by the way from a dude he always does. Yeah. I mean he he's. Yeah. Dude, chef max is just, is freaking amazing with what he puts together down there. Um, so, Oh, and I guess that's the other, the other reason you can be inside, uh, basically, so going inside is literally only if you're walking in to go to the bathroom or if you're there for a pickup takeout order. Um, those are the only two reasons why you should be like on the indoor, on the indoor side of things.
Uh, but they have refreshed the art. They've done a, a really great job. They've made a whole commitment to, uh, basically feature black artists for the next year. Um, and do the stuff that they have up right now is just amazing and outstanding. So, I mean, if you get a chance just to like be able to, cause you can walk around the art gallery obviously, um, which is on the second floor of the indoor courtyard. Uh, but you know, just take a look at stuff and see what's there. It's a really, really great, uh, it's a great pop in. Um, but yeah, so I mean, so that was nice. And then I walked around the corner to temple bar, which laughably kinda looks like a seven mile liquor store, uh, now, cause it's the a C know it's, it's, the bar is still the bar, but now they've got plexiglass shielding from the bar top to the ceiling, uh, with little holes cut out every now and then that they can slip your drinks through and like take cards or cash through that kind of thing.
I was so surprised to hear that like honest to God, like usually it's the dive bars that are like, whatever,
You know what though? I mean, so I, you know, I give like, you know, so I mean, you know, I spent a lot of time talking with Larry George, actually there was so there's only me,...

  • Episode 352 – The CHAZ, News, Events, and More
And we are good to go. What is going on? Welcome to episode 352 of the IT in the D show. We are broadcasting live. Bob, can we let's do one real quick guys. We're not doing anything scary. This week. Fred Brown is not allowed near this broadcast. I am not staying up until one in the morning. Having conversations with freaked out people. Again, we are broadcasting live from the podcast. He trade autonomous zone here in beautiful betray, Michigan, probably sales guy that the Twitter is doing. The Twitter is find us [email protected]. I don't know why, because we are it in the D and you still are not even with a pandemic going on. You're still planting a garden by putting top soil over a grass with styrofoam Cox. It's a Turrell what's going on. This is world. This is the world we live in. Are they just doing things to humor me right now? I say, dude, we are in season four of whatever show that we're all on. And the writers are all trying to get fired so they can move on to better projects. And they're just making shit up. As they go along. The park is sitting on their hands, trying to release this Chaz episode. They have to, Oh, they are dying. Hey, before we do that, let me go ahead and fire. When ready are you firing? When ready? Now you can carry on.

I can't dude, just watching what's going on in Seattle. I can't stop laughing. It's like, this is a human South park episode. Come to life. This is the onion and Babylon be in the cell park. All had a baby. And do that now, like bikers, like, did anything happen with the bikers that were going out there today? I didn't know if it was, I don't like talking about this stuff. I don't know if it's real or not. Cause you're like blinkers are on route and I'm like, Oh, I want to see this. This is like a put paper view on man. This is solved the nationals who doesn't want to see that? Oh, that would be amazing. I'm not going to lie. You haven't figured out what's going on. It's like there, they be like occupied as six block territory of Seattle and they, and to go against the injustices of the world, they've done the same thing.
The U S does by building. The very first thing they did was built a wall with checkpoints and our guards fight the power. Apparently there's some rogue, independent rapper with his entourage. It's like beating the shit out of why isn't this a movie like you wouldn't pay 20 bucks a day to watch the cameras in there. We are living that's that's the dude, whoever created black mirror, season six, the fully immersive experience is just a goddamn genius. Like that's, that's the only thing I that's the only way I describe what the hell is going on right now. Mark Burnett. You cancel cops. You don't give me chance. Come on. Like Howard, do there's gotta be life. I actually, now that you said that there's gotta be live feed somewhere. Like there has to be, no, they don't like there. I was watching something from Steven Crowder and it's like some guy who was like, Oh, he's on the scene. Um, and they, like, they took him and beat the shit out of him in and interrogation tent and wanted to see his film. Cause they thought he was a conservative pundit. Um, so there's like actually 10 and I don't know if they're full of shit or not, or making stuff up. You know what I mean? Like, that'd be a 10 ton homo Bay.
That's the thing with these tweets. Like you don't know if they're like, like when, when the tweak you wanted to date to, they ran out of food. Cause the homeless people storm the tent. Well, and then you've got Fox news using, um, conflated images where they're like they're Photoshopping multiple images together to try to paint the situation is worse than it really is. So that's not helping. So I don't know what's going on. I mean basically what the guy said was, uh, well, yeah. Then you also have MSNBC saying, well it's a street fair. And like, basically it's not a street fair. I mean they took over sitting on the police station. Well, they didn't take over city hall. They did. They did take over the police station that the cops pulled out of. Um, yeah, I do that. That's literally one of those stories that I like, I don't know what to make of it.
Like I, like, I want a movie I will. And you know, dude, Netflix and Hulu are probably both offering just giant bags of money right now to whoever to get film crews in there, you know, to, to get the inside scoop and get a documentary rolling like they did with fire festival. Um, it's I it's, it does. I mean like, like if you look at like some posts, it seems like it's like, I haven't seen anything like that since a grateful dead concert. And then you look at some posts and it's like mad max. Like I don't, I don't know which to buy into. My favorite line I saw was it was like, it was like a Lollapalooza 92. Those kids finally had kids and they're there and they grew up hearing all the stories and decided to go ahead and do it. Nice.
It's so stupid. Like, it really was like, like after like day four and they're like, what are we doing now? I dunno, got any pot what's going on? And then it's like burning man. Like all the burning man, people at night. And what are you going to do when you run out of stuff? Because now you've got no, cause now you've got all the truckers that are saying, I ain't going in. There are those gardens real. They can't be real. It's like, did you see it? And it's like an eight foot by eight foot. It's like, they just dumped like six bags on the grass, like playing in it. Like it's going to be my garden, man.
The Brando plant's grave. Anyway, straps cameras on people like, seriously, you want to, you want to make money? It's like the George Carlin bit like the mass murders, the square States. Yeah. You fence off all the square States and yeah, Seattle colon Chaz would be the number one show on all of us law and order Chaz rapper ever. I see Wiz Khalifa or whatever. They'll think Rapper's name. And it took over the town. All, I don't see do it. I got nothing. He's like the judge and they bring everybody in front of him and he's taking him to Detroit or whatever. I don't even know where the, you know, I can't say I don't mean, I honestly don't mean to laugh because the, this whole thing was, was built on good intention. I think, I think I want to think not to bring it back to reality, but like there was like, things are starting to happen.
Change is starting to happen. And like, but now the ban hammer has gotten a little crazy. I think, um, now you want to cancel cops, which did get canceled and then you cancel live PD and then, and then like, is, did pop patrol get canceled or no, they were, people were lobbying for it, but there's no. All right. It's one of those. No, no, no, that people weren't. It was like two persons were two people on Twitter and it became a Buzzfeed article. Yeah. And then everyone, now everyone talks about, they wanted to ban puppet show, but like, do you like cops was the wa like, I guess I'm wrong. Cops was the one show that I sent will be on until the end of time, because you'll never have a shortage of dumb people. And apparently I get, I don't get my fix.
No. And like, I understand. So like live PD apparently had an issue where they did film a really, really bad situation. Um, and you know, but like, and, and it is, I mean, I, I understand some of the sentiment, but like now they're coming after like law and order and they're coming after, you know, those franchises and that kind of stuff, because they say they, they glorify the police and okay. Anybody who's ever watched law and order knows that's not true. I mean, you've had cops with drug issues. You've had cops, you know, that have been raped. You've had cops that have been kicked off the force. You've had, you know, DA's that have been, you know, killed. You've had, I mean, it's, it, it, no, that's, that's not what that show is. Like. I think that's gone with the wind and they have to dump Andy Griffith show.
Now, like how far back we go on with this? Well, and so, you know, and we've kinda, you know, somewhat joked about this before, but I mean, it's, it is kind of a real thing. So, you know, Amazon's talking about pulling the Dukes of hazard, but yet the Jefferson's is still on the air with George calling everybody honky, you know, so, I mean, is it, you, it it's, you know, it's, again, it's looking for balance. That was the goddamn state flag and, uh, up until, well, how many years ago? Oh, Georgia. Yeah. Yes. Remember that one car that they got all pissy about or like, um, that was the state flag down in those years. Uh, so what do you, what do you, how far are you going to go with this? You know, well, and it's, you know, and I get it and, and I think a lot of people, you know, like I was talking about it with like, you know, the Christopher Columbus statue getting pulled down and a lot of the, and a lot of the Confederate statues coming down and that kind of stuff.
And he's like, Oh, it's a racing history. No, it's not like the history is still there. It's erasing a monument to dumb shit. Like, like why do you have a statue of a Confederate general in your town center? Here's a good years ago. It's on part of obviously lots of the German community. And all of them are talking about how the differences are between keeping Auschwitz up as a Memorial versus bringing, like having generally on a statue. Right. One is to remind people of the atrocities that occurred. They are not, shearing are heralding. There's nothing to that. Right. Where I think the difference is a lot of these Confederate statues is, um, that they're, that people view them as heroes. Correct. They're there, you're not, you know, the, the, the things that Amish fits in well, and there's a difference between like an Auschwitz or like the Gettysburg cemetery or, you know, something like that.
I don't see any German statues of Heinrich Himmler. Exactly. Yeah. There's yeah. Like there's, yeah....

  • Episode 351- Fred Brown, Infectious Disease Expert, Michigan Bars and Restaurants Reopening
What is going on, everybody? How are we doing? This is the it and the D show episode 351. We are still in quarantine, even though we're slowly getting back into business, cheers to all the bars and restaurants that got to open up today. A guest this week of the illustrious one, mr. Fred Brown. He was on about a month ago, actually. What about a month and a half ago? Right? When everything started breaking kind of educating us on COVID and what a better time to bring them back then, uh, cause all the madness going on right now with the doubts and misinformation and all this other stuff.

Oh. And let's not forget all the bars and restaurants reopening and everybody believing it's bar crawl day. Yeah. Let's not forget.
Yeah. Hockey glass will save us all here to clear up all the madness and Dave, you know what you may fire when ready.
All right. Yeah. And Fred, since the last time, uh, we've decided we're not playing the intro, uh, during these video sessions. So we're not going to make you suffer through that again.
Okay. It was very inspiring. Welcome. And thank you for hanging out with us. This is the it, and the D show we are hanging out, uh, in our respective houses for the time being, this is episode three 51. This is Bob, the sales guy that is Dave, the geek, Randy. I do the Twitters is doing the Twitter, find it online it and the d.com and do us a favor, give us a like on the socials and subscribe to us everywhere. Fine podcasts are sold.
And uh, yeah. So this is usually where we talk about the events and we have not put any back on the calendar just yet. Uh, but now that things are starting to open up, we will be looking at doing so. Um, I know our buddy Neil was at, uh, where we were supposed to be having our first event that got canceled Del Ray cozy lounge. Uh, so we'll be reaching out to them and seeing how things are going and maybe go back there. Uh, and then we'll work on the Anarbor events as well. But yeah, so it's a, they're they're, they're coming soon and, uh, and, and, and look, and look and listen to, I listened to Bob with his, uh, with his new microphone. Sounded all good and stuff.
Yeah. I'm not all that. It doesn't sound like I'm in the toilet. If you're not watching the show. I think I got an idea for our next event that we should all wear, like those kitty life preservers and like all handout, like, uh, so, so we have this, see the distance like around our waists. Oh, you mean like the hip waders? Yes. Yeah, exactly. Like this, just like you slide them over your head, like life preservers. And I was like, what's that going to hit? Not like a hospital, a we'll we'll do the whole thing. We'll where the, uh, the face shields with the windshield wiper, the big Brown thing around our waist life preservers.
I think we, uh, we need the giant burger King hats, the giant burger King crowns from Germany. We need to find our way to get our hands on those,
but Hey, a Fred's already getting a patient where we are. If you didn't hear the pre-roll, we're very, very lucky to have mr. Fred Brown back with us. Uh, I would consider how do we introduce you politely without a, uh, I guess you are all things, um, I guess why don't you go ahead and introduce yourself before I stick my foot in my mouth any further? Oh, well,
I, I work a little bit in epidemiology and infectious disease. I've done. Gosh, I, I started doing the work back in 1985. We, uh, I was on the team that discovered the first and then developed the first AIDS test, uh, for HIV, uh, detecting HIV. And unfortunately at the time we, uh, had a test, but we didn't have any cure as a little bit similar to what we have with Qubit right now. But, uh, you know, HIV is at that point was really a deadly, you know, much more deadly than, than, than it is. And so most people after we developed the test didn't want one. And so what we did is we actually developed it for the blood serum and we can't, we tested all the blood. So people wouldn't be getting diseased from the blood. And then I went, uh, and started, uh, a little company called Alkermes.
And we did quite a bit of work in delivering, uh, new drugs across the blood brain barrier, which was a challenge. And then I basically helped develop a 27 major drugs and 13 diagnostic products and seven or eight vaccines in my career. So you have kids in a, you know, in, uh, who, uh, who, uh, were born in the 1990s 'em up, they probably were, were vaccinated and they have had vaccines. Then they would probably vaccinated with some of the work that I did. And most people who have been to an emergency room, public took, had drugs that I take. And most people who have cancer have taken some of the drugs that I developed as well. So that's some of the back on it.
I speak on behalf of all of us. We're very lucky to have you with us and thank you for your time.
Yeah, it's a pleasure. I mean, he's, he's got a lot more credit than most of our, you know, our, our common guest in eighties, D-list celebrities. I mean, that's
so I don't know, Dave, I got a hundred questions. Dave, you have a hundred questions, Randy, you have a hundred questions, I guess we all flip a coin, Dave, I guess start off you a fired a few off an email. Why don't you, uh, I guess fire off one we'll we'll play round Robin.
Well, yeah, so, I mean, I guess let's, let's start with obviously the, the big one. So, you know, Michigan's bars and restaurants are reopening today, um, or reopened today, uh, you know, a lot of them, uh, I know quite a few places that, uh, that, that were opened at midnight, uh, to get that two hour Russian. Uh, so I mean, from your perspective, you know, what should people be paying attention to? And, and, and by people, I mean, both patrons and staff, you know, owners, you know, that kind of thing, like what, what should we be keeping in mind as these rules are relaxing? Because I mean, I, no joke, my Facebook feed was just littered with people, checking in at bars today and, and everything else. And, and so I, yeah, I'm, I'm curious as to what your thoughts are there.
So they're basically four, four things you want to think about. We can go into the tail if you like as well. The first thing is your own personal health. So you, are you feeling good? And as you know, we started off with about four major, uh, diagnostics for the disease. The first one was, if you had a fever 88 of the time, you had a fever that was indicative of, of COVID. Unfortunately that's a very, uh, you know, it's a sensitive test, but it's not very specific. You can have pretty broad yeah. Were for a lot of different reasons. I mean, we had a, you know, shortness of breath was a big one and a dry cough. Wasn't another big one. And there's also some cognitive issues that we felt were issue issues. Now we've actually got about 12 different ways of diagnosing and I've got a list of them. I can, I can show you if you're interested. I'll just show it to you quickly. Uh, I have it here.
    Mmm.
This isn't the right deck, but we can get there one second and
    right here.
Yeah. You got a dialog box up. You're not doing anything until you kill that off. Oh, sorry. [inaudible], we'll save this. Thank you. That's the benefit of being in the room with three it guys. Beautiful.
Let's see. Here, there, we are open that up and see where we are. So the major, major, uh, diagnostic factors, uh, now we've got loss of smell and taste. That was a new one. We weren't expecting that at all. That's a very rare for a coronavirus, uh, of any kind to kind of create a loss of smell. The dry cough continued at 68%. We were just thought it was 66%, but it was 68%. Fatigue is a big one. If you're really feeling very tired out. Uh, and, uh, despite getting a lot of sleep, that was a big one. It turns out there was some student production, the shortness of breath continued at about 20%. And then there was a whole mass of smaller things that we found out that it was a little bit broader indication levels than we thought. So the first question you want to ask yourself before, before you go is what sputum protection production
slam. Bob. You want to go by an expectorant, let's just say that you want, you want to be feeling good when you go out. And if you have any of those things,
dumps that, then see it, you know, cause again, we'll get a test and check it out and make sure you're doing good. Uh, so that's the first big question. That's the next big question you have to ask is what your own personal level of, of risk is. And, um, you know, for guys like me, I I'm older. And so I actually have a higher level of risk and I like to admit, I can show you that quickly as well. Here are the different factors and you can see it really, it really hype so quick. Um, uh, with, uh, with these,
I have a feeling we're not going to like this chart, Bob [inaudible]. So let me see,
there was a slideshow slide. So if you're, if you're basically under 40, um, you're, you know, you're, you're in pretty good shape. Um, unless you're saying smoking have had, and I've had a major disease like cancer or haven't, haven't had bad ass, um, then, then I think it's, it's relatively safe, uh, to be out and about much more. So say than when, when you get into, you know, my, my area, which I'm, you know, on the 4% side, uh, of a mortality rate. And by the time you get to my mom's age, I gotta really be careful. Cause she's, you know, she's talking about, uh, uh, know one, one in five chance of dying. If she, if she comes up with it, if you've got a slide up, go ahead and share it. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm I'm making all sorts of mistakes tonight. I apologize.
No problem. Here we are. I will hear that up. How does that look? There you go. Yeah. So, you know, basically you can see if you're, if you're under 40, um, the chances of, of being killed by, by, by COBIT, aren't, aren't zero,...

Yeah. And Hey, here's a slight change to, what's become the norm over the past nine, 10 weeks. Um, we don't have any events on the calendar just yet. Uh, but we're about to, uh, so now that we've got a, you know, the stay at home order has been lifted. Uh, restaurants and bars are gonna start opening at 50% capacity starting next Monday. Uh, so yeah, it looks like we're going to have the opportunity to start bringing some events back and we'll see how we can do that. And with any luck our, uh, our guests will tell us how to do that. Not stupidly
    [inaudible].
So yeah, we'll figure that one out, but Hey, this show is brought to you by our very new friends, um, private internet access, uh, just to let you know, uh, we're as concerned about privacy as you are, they are founded in 2010. Wow. Very cool. Indeed, indeed. So, Hey, we are without further ado, we'd like to get a first time we've met. We got introduced to you through, uh, through our mutual friend, Pat, but Mike Willis' in the house from clear to go. How are you doing, sir? But again, how about you, you know, what never been better trying to, uh, keep our head clear with all this mania stuff going on. Uh, what would that be instead? We sincerely appreciate your time. Um, so I guess let's talk, uh, getting a product launched with this stuff only being a month or so old. I mean, that had to have been a pretty Herculean feat, I guess, talk to me about the idea for this and then we'll dive right into the product.
Sure. Yeah. I mean, uh, gosh, we're in like week seven of this thing, uh, for us at least, uh, you know, I think we have Wednesday morning, I get a call from my partner and said, you know, uh, what if we had something to do like this? And it immediately just snowballed into this huge thing where yeah. Screening questions are definitely needed, but there's this whole process that happens behind the scenes. Uh, HR teams have to make sure not just that people can come back to work, but what happens when they can't and, and for all the various reasons why not? So, uh, you know, it just 18 hour days, 15 to 18 hour days for the past seven weeks, it's getting pretty rough. But
how big, a big a team of coders do you have or are you guys doing all this internal?
Yeah. Yeah. Uh, luckily it was amazing, you know, just really lucky for us. We had a team that just kind of, uh, came off of another project and we'd all worked together before and just, it was like, we're getting the band back together.
Yeah. That's always a good feeling.
So I guess in short, what is it a technology or, or the app? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
So, you know, it starts off as like there's, you know, a, an iOS and Android app and then there's, we call it an SMS text app and basically a, you need, with those ways, you get a reminder in the morning, if you're an employee of someplace, Hey, it's time to screen, you know, uh, and, uh, you fill out a few questions. The questions are customized per employer. So, uh, you know, somebody in Georgia can have different questions than somebody in Michigan. It makes perfect sense. Right. Right. One size doesn't fit all, especially for businesses. So, uh, you answer your questions and as long as you have it, your answer, everything, uh, you know, in the green, then basically you get your little badge and it's green, so you can hold it up across the room and, and show it to people like in the lobby and say, yeah, I screened.
Um, I'm going to go through to go. And, um, and then there's a barcode too, so that we can link that up, uh, through, uh, essentially a visitor management system. And so if you come in and you scan, we make that link electronically back to that business. Um, and so then on the, on the other side of that is case management where a response team or HR can manage what happens when somebody fails a screening. And so whether it's asymptomatic symptomatic, whether they've been diagnosed, uh, and then following that process from, uh, just, uh, watching it to, uh, treatment to recovery, to finally being cleared, to return back to work
well. And, and I guess, like, that's a good question. Cause like, you know, we've got, uh, friends that have gone back for, you know, whether it's Ford or GM or, you know, something other big three. And like, I know like one of our buddies had an issue, uh, because one of the standard questions that they ask, uh, during their process is, you know, do you have a, a sore throat or a runny nose or anything like that? And well, it it's allergy season and, and it's Michigan. And, and so the answer for like everyone is yes, like that's how that works.
I'm going to add to this. We got to have, we got a big sign on the outside of our door. Um, it says, you know, if you have any of these symptoms, you can't get entry. And one of the symptoms is diarrhea and I'm walking with my boss and I'm like, they're never going to let you that I'm building nice.
Yeah. I mean, part of it too is like making sure that you're clear in the questions. So like, eh, have you had a persistent new cough for the past three days? Things like that. It's a little, a little bit of nuance.
Well, and I guess, I guess that was, that was where I was going with that question is like, do you guys provide any guidance to what those questions should be? Or do you come with a default set of questions? That kind of thing.
Yeah. We're trying not to prescribe and because it's really easy for a, an HR department that's just overworked right now to just take whatever's off the shelf. And so we do make recommendations from, you've got the CDC, so federal you've got state, you've got County, you have sometimes cities recommending it. And, and, and so trying to pick and choose what works best for them, uh, based off those templates.
Yeah. That's what I was going to ask you, Mike, like, can they, it's there, it's up to them to pick or choose like what compliance standards are there already, are they adhering to, is this
    just, um, it's basically,
you know, cause I filled out a half a dozen of them at different places already and they're all different.
Yeah. Yeah. You know, it'd be nice if there's just one set up, but that's it. And, uh, you know, for awhile it was like, Hey, we want to ask, uh, what their temperature is and you know, the temperature gets you into the HIPAA related issues, but we've had guidance that says that's not HIPAA, but also temperature is a trailing indicator too. So I mean, it's, it's one of those things that's tough. Um, we don't have a good answer on, Hey, this is the best set of questions. I don't think anybody does really.
No, but I'm just wondering like, okay, so they go through all your things, everyone's got their, they've got the sticker. Um, you know, they can check that, I guess, what box can they check? Is this basically like for HR to go back to management and say, Hey, everyone, that's come through. The facilities been is good to go clear to go. Sorry. Um, uh, you know what I mean? I guess what, uh, what, what's the end game
I was going to say to me? I mean, to me it sounds like it's, it's a compliance and protect yourself from liability thing. Um, where, I mean,...

  • Episode 349 – Binging During Quarantine, 90 Day Fiancee and More
Hey, welcome to the one and only IT in the D show. This is episode 349 happy Memorial day to everybody listening. Hopefully you didn't give him a moment of silence today to all the men and women that have made the ultimate price and certainly our freedoms appreciate it. Um, it is because of people like you that we can be the self-entitled jerk wads that we are and we need, we appreciate from our homes. I think this is what our 10th or eighth edition of a foreign team, uh, something like that. Yeah. Yeah. This is, I'm a, if you don't know me, I'm Bob the sales guy that's named the geek. I do. The Twitters is doing the Twitter's. You can find us online at [inaudible] dot com do us a favor. Give us a like on the socials and subscribe to us everywhere fine podcasts are sold...

except for podcast addict cause apparently just took them off.
Yeah, they got, they got pulled back. Oh, they're back now. Yeah. But, uh, and as per usual, this is usually the part of the show where we talk about our upcoming events and we ain't gotten an a in can. In fact, I actually just canceled the, uh, the Facebook listing for the Anarbor event cause that was still on the agenda. Um, yeah, because our governor just extended our stay home, stay safe
again until June 12th. Yeah, exactly. So everybody in Trevor city shout out to all my friends up there. No kidding. Travers city is packed.
Well, and then they did, apparently they had, um, a couple of people that showed up, uh, positive. Um, obviously they didn't catch it there, like I said, a couple. Um, and so they showed up. Uh, I guess they, you know, they went up and had it and just, you know, developed worse symptoms while they were there. So yay. You know, I think we all were kind of expecting those kinds of stories. Um, but yeah, I mean it's, and it was, uh huh. Well, yeah, no, I mean we'll see more, I'm sure. Uh, but yeah, I mean it's, you know, things got relaxed a little bit. You can have gatherings of 10 or more, you know, or 10 or fewer. Sorry. Um, and, uh, so yeah, I was, I've, I've been surprised. Uh, I left the house a couple of times, like just run a couple errands and, uh, yeah, there's a lot of cops out, so go figure holiday weekend. Uh, and the first time that gatherings are allowed, uh, there's an awful lot of police on the streets.
Well, everyone's current, you know, like crazy. It's kind of like, uh, you know, the, the Toga party just opened up. It's like, you know, like there's a running like Forrest Gump to get to wherever they need to get to. You know what I mean? We've all been cropped up in months, man. Everybody's going stir crazy. What are you going to do? Um, yeah. I mean, I'm not gonna lie. I'm feeling it too. Yeah, no,
I don't blame you. Um, a couple of interesting things changed this weekend. So we talked last week about my Buddhist legal came back on this weekend or blasted. And so this weekend I'm watching and two things change. Uh, they started piping in cheers and chants, crowd chants, and they basically masked off the crowd the seats with, with advertising. I'm watching it and I go usually use that kind of passively watch. I'm not actively watching. It's kind of a reading news. It's, I'm drinking coffee, you know what I mean? It's like kind of been my Sunday tradition for years and years and years and years and it sounds the same. And I go, wait a minute, there's like full on chance going on and I look up and sure. Shit, empty arena. So where are they piping it in from? Is it from past games? Is it like, are they like, where are they paddle? I don't, I don't know. I would love to, I mean it's going through the PA speakers. It can't be coming like, it can't be coming in remotely from bars. So I got an engineer pushing the cheer button when their team is doing.
There was a, a, there was this part like where the ball like dismissed the net. Oh, you heard like it was bizarre. Like interesting. Yeah. It just, just to watch it and be like, wait a minute. Their chin, like when the guy's doing a throw in and the chance to be kind of pumped up a little bit. Interesting themes down when it's in play. No, it was uh, it was, it was pretty, you know, and it was clean. It wasn't awkward. It wasn't dumb. Yeah. It wasn't, yeah. It wasn't like a badly dubbed movie or anything. No, it wasn't laugh tracks on Brady munch.
I saw Mikey posted something earlier where apparently they're bringing fans back into the WWE. If I read that correctly. This was my call. Like all everyone that's backstage and crew and shit, I go, why don't they have them every three seats apart. Gotcha. And so that's what they're doing. They're bringing in anyone that was booked that wasn't booked for the show. Um, we're all backstage, all the ring crew, all, all the truck drivers, basically, you know, anyone, you know, sitting in three seats apart and letting them holler, um, which I'm completely fine with. Um, no, it makes sense. Here's a weird thing. Um, somebody posted, so the wrestling events that their cup that are toying, the idea of putting ice hockey plexiglass in front of the crowd, I mean you got that fake punch spray coming in your face. So I mean the, you know, I got the guy behind me screaming. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. The people that are literally a foot behind you cause you can't even like sit with your knees straight in front of you in those seats. Right. And then, um, another thing, uh, you know, I'm a huge of a NASCAR. I am just kidding what I saw NASCAR on and I thought it was video game MasterCard. I just kind of wanted to watch it cause it's weird and it was actually live car racing, so I was like, that was empty arena. Um, but I'm like, okay. You know.
So I'm curious like, so the pit crews, like were they all mashed up? Were they good? I didn't want to watch it. That was enough that I just go, okay, no crowd item should, should have taken one for the team and kept watching Bob. But uh, no. So that will, I guess, speaking of cars, I mean I guess the uh, the dream cruise, um, is officially canceled, uh, officially canceled. Whether or not it's, there's still going to be a shit ton of cars on Woodward is, is still remains to be seen. But yeah,
I got it. I got a theory that it's going to be the, probably one of the bigger ones we've ever seen, but you just not going to get the people in the lawn chairs and the Boulevard people in their cars driving back and forth. Yeah.
Stop the driving of the cars, but all the supplementary events and all the cities along Woodward are definitely off. Well, yeah, because all the bars and restaurants are closed and all that stuff. So yeah,
I was on YouTube going around and it was some video of Karen stops, little boy's hot rod party, like 5 million views and it's a week old and I'll go put it on. Apparently it was in Texas, this little kid, his birthday, he wanted a hotline for murder. He's like 10 years old or whatever and every this hot rod loves it. All right, we'll take a lap through your neighborhood and rev up our engines. Well, this one frumpy short hair lady gets in front of the entire recession. Stop. I said four cop cars, come screaming in, sirens blaring, and then find out what's going on. So basically they apologize.
What was she doing? Like the Tiananmen square tank guy like,
yeah, so they have a, so they have a part due, um, this past weekend and literally everyone in the entire neighborhood is actually really awesome to watch. Drove across her lawn. Everyone came out of their house. There was like everyone, like everyone's family. We went on the front lawn or like sit in the driveway and it was just like hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of peoples, you know, I mean, in their own house. That's very cool. Watch it. Yeah. And then people brought out Lamborghinis and they weren't doing anything illegal. They're just revving up their engines. These two videos were like 7 million people.
That's crazy. Well, and I mean, and that's the thing. I mean like, you know, you and I, you know, we both had our birthdays, you know, during this nonsense and I don't, you know, okay, fine. We didn't get one bar night, you know, hanging out with the guys. Um, but like for kids that's, you know, it's kind of a bigger deal. Like, you know, birthdays still really matter to them and that kind of stuff. And so it does kind of suck for them.
Well that's the one thing like, uh, Gretchen's really good friends turned 18 and she's like, I can't miss it. I'm like, go like, she has like two friends over this. Yeah, you can't, how are you going to miss that? She turned 16 in June, so it's like we got it, we're talking today. What are we doing now? True. Well, and then the other thing that got canceled as a theater bizarre. Yeah. Well you had, you figured they had to because they got to start building that set like now and that things like year long thing. So yeah, that got canceled. And then here's the weird one. Um, I had a ministry cam at the M tickets in July and I craft work tickets in July and Kraftwerk just said it was postpone at the Masonic but ministry, uh, I got an email saying your tickets have been reissued for April 21st, 2021 I had to do a triple take. I'm like April already passed. I go Holy shit next year. And I'm like, alright, whatever. I'll put that on the calendar next year.
Looking forward to that. I mean I thought July was far away to go to this concert. I think I bought the tickets in January. Um, dude, did you see that? I just sent it today cause it just leaked. But the episode nine, the dual, the fades concept art. Yeah. Not only the concept art but the actual storyline story got released and they're basically saying, okay, would you rather have seen this version? And they were showing like basically it was Kyla went and got trained. It was in a clone Wars when Anaconda was in that weird force, like a alternate universe. I don't know if you remember that one....

And again, as for usual, we're usually, this is where we usually talk about the events and stuff we have coming up. There are none, although we might be getting close. Um, we're going to see how, uh, apparently up North it goes, uh, and around the Trevor city area that just got opened up, uh, where bars and restaurants can open up at 50% capacity and that kind of stuff today. So hopefully, uh, in the near future we will be able to talk about our events in the NRA, Metro Detroit area. Cause we miss. Wow. We miss most of you. There are some of you, let's be honest, we don't, we don't miss all of you, but we miss some of you
breaking news, breaking news. There's, I just got a page. Um, your Facebook avatar looks nothing like you and your stupid stop. I,
I like, am I the only one like the mother of the one that remembers a Bitmoji and those bits strip things emoji. And it looks so much more a year. It wasn't that long ago. That's what I mean. Like it's like, it's like why is this, why is that a thing everywhere? Like I don't like, well I know I do cause people are bored as shit and they got nothing else to do, so why not?
Well, Bitmoji is on by Snapchat. So in order to compete for one thing, here's the thing, like most of the people tried and it was like, ah, I have one friend that was like blue hair girl, pig tail fat. Like you know, like that's my boy. Right.
Stephanie's looked really good. Well I think it was a, who was it? Beth Beth Mosley who just said, you know, she put hers out there. She's like, I am not making myself fat. This, this is my, this is my avatar. She's like, I'm not making myself fat. Get outta here.
No. And that's, that's the beauty of this stuff. It takes about, you know, this happens what on Sunday where this madness starts and it takes up until Sunday at two o'clock, eight before I call it out, where I'm like, I'm done be before the anti ones come out. Like Homer go under my avatar,
Homer sitting at the bar with all the avatars around him. Yeah. It's like literally you have to just wait for like our people to come out like two hours. Well, and like I said, I mean it dude, I get it. Like everybody's bored as shit and it's something stupid and entertaining. Have your fun. It is what it is. It's, you know, to me it's no different than sharing a meme or anything dumb like that, which I mean God knows I share enough of, um, yeah, I, I just, I don't like, I like, I will say this like I can't, cause there were, there were some people that like literally had a lot of like venom and vitriol about the entire thing that I don't get. Like, dude, just like let, let, let people enjoy their things. Like if I got mad about X, I saw a couple of things.
Like people got mad. Yeah. There were, there were a few, hold on. Is it like two people on Twitter and then it turns into a Buzzfeed article. Oh, you know, yeah. No, it wasn't a ton of people. It was like I said, but there were a few people that got like, like not us snarky, but like seriously snarky about it. Um, and got kind of shitty with people about them. And it was, eh, you know, it was just like, let people enjoy the things. It's, and it's, and you know, when we do, yes. Like we posted a meme about it. Well that's us. We will openly mock our friends. That's who, that's what friends do in our world. If we're not poking at you, you're probably not on our radar at all. Like for example, Randy's new nickname, if you're not aware yet, Bob, um, is sparkle donkey. Uh, uh, a friend of mine posted that she found this, this booth, this tequila is out there. There's a brain of tequila called sparkle donkey. And I'm like, Nope, absolutely not. I was like, I'm like, that's, that's Randy's new nickname. He's now sparkled donkey from Noah and it's not funny anymore.
I'm still laughing in my head. That's, that's still a thing. Uh, yeah, no. So I, uh, the one thing that I thought was interesting just cause we've talked about it a bunch of times over the past few weeks is, um, so stranger things was like the reigning King of streaming services, um, for views and watches and all that stuff for the longest time. Um, and they are now number three on the list. Um, as far as most viewed series of all time, uh, behind clone Wars, uh, and the Mandalorian.
Yeah, I was surprised that clone Wars overtook it because it was, it, it wasn't that popular live, was it not? No, it was, but dude, it, it, it blew up
once it once Disney plot, like once Disney plus was out and people like burned through the movies and they were like, okay, I, I dude, I did, I didn't watch it when it was live, but like I burned through the couple of movies I wanted to watch and I burned through all their Marvel stuff and I'm like, you know what, I kept hearing that was okay,
watch it. And so I started watching it. I was like, Holy shit, this is amazing. And I started talking to people into watching it and other people started talking people into watching it and that's why it kind of blew up. Yeah. I'm watching it now. Yep.
I just started episode four right before or season four right before the show started. So it is, I mean, it's just, it's such a great, it's such a great tie between two and three. Um, and do it in Randy, especially like when you get to this, this current season, the last four episodes of this current season should have been a movie like it was, it's just ridiculous how great they are.
And I think people are just so starved for content now. I mean, if you look at Netflix, what is it wrong? Molly is like the number one movie on Netflix right now. The uh, Dave spade. Um, totally the worst ending of any movie I've ever seen in my life.
Haven't watched it. I did, I did finally sit down. And so I feel like I'm a week behind you now. Like, so like last week you were talking about that Hollywood show, I sat down and watched that. Um, this week, uh, you threw out a, what was the one you threw out? Oh, hanger one. Yeah, so a hanger one. Um, I watched the first episode, so I haven't gotten that deep into that one yet. Um, but for that one part, yeah, the part that's in the preview, it's only reason I watched it.
Yeah. I'll talk about that in a little bit. But like I am, I am a kind of, I was kind of ecstatic to see live sports on TV this weekend.
Where are you? Where are you? Yeah. I had no idea what [inaudible] was or whatever the hell it was. I got nothing. I got,
so the Germans started with live soccer this weekend in an empty arena. Um, the, the, the players on the bench were three seats apart. And um,
now did they do, did they do what Korea did and fill the state or China fill the stadium with sex dolls? No, dude, that was the story. They actually had to issue an apology. Like the cartoon ones are like the $8,000 ones. Oh, I, I'm hoping the cartoon ones that blow up, I'm guessing, I'm guessing, I'm guessing the blowup version, not the real doll version. Yes. Here's the thing.
I was so starved for it. I watched, I watched both games. Um, but I'm not gonna lie, it was no different than watching like the Carpathia at team, at ultimate in Pontiac. Gotcha. Like, hear me out here. I, I didn't want it. This was my take on it. I don't want to give people an ego, because I hear all the time about like, Detroit lions fans, especially talking about how we need to be positive. Our team needs us, and I'm not gonna lie like it needs the fans. Like, I don't want to give anyone an ego, don't get me wrong. But like, you can't, it's so unwatchable with an empty arena. Even though, even though the soccer was on such a higher level and it was such a, you could tell it was better, right?
It was unwatchable won't do it. I mean, I mean, think about it. I mean, I don't care if it's, I don't care what sport it is. Like you, you can't, you know, a good chunk of the game is the crowd reaction to what's happening on the field or on the ice or on the court or, you know, whatever else. I mean, that's, that's, that's a huge part of the experience. And so without that there,
yeah, I mean, is it, is it even really happening? It's like a standup comic without a crowd laughing like,
Oh God. Speaking of which, like I've seen like an Ellen, uh, our engineer, God bless her, um, you know, was talking about how there's a couple of, um, like zoom open mic nights that are going on and how, you know, it's, it's OK. It's, but it's, it's, it's rough because you're basically talking to whoever's in the zoom room with you. Um, and it's not, you know, a, it's not a bar. It's not people sitting there drinking and listening to you, you know, work on your material and crack jokes and all that kind of stuff. Um, but I mean, you know, I guess taking it a step further, you know, that article you threw out about major league baseball and, and the rules that there or that, I guess, I guess it's a first draft and it's subject to revision and changes, but do the rules that are, that are in that proposal are instant. Like they're almost as bad as the rules for bars opening up.
I want to go through this because my comment was new mop rules. Dot dot, dot. This shit is stupid and it says go with like high school ball and it's going to look less than high school ball. Um, you basically can't take showers at the ballpark. Um, you need to show up dressed in your uniform. So basically got to put on your tigers uniform at home and show up with your cleats on.
So it's, it's back to, you know, when you're kids and, and you gotta you gotta get out of mom and dad's car all suited up and ready

  • Episode 347 – Getting Back to Work, Unemployment Issues
Hey, what's going on? This is a one and all the it in the D show broadcasting live from our respective houses. This is Bob the sales guy. It's quarantine day again. That is David. Randy. I do the Twitters is doing the Twitter. Find us online it in the d.com where you'll find all the things. And for episode three 47, we're just going to be, uh, we've got about 20 stories on tap and uh, and see what happens. It feels like Groundhog's day against, like there's nothing really new going on, but there's everything new going on.

Yeah, it's, yeah. We'll find new people to help and new ways to try to seduce digital Debar who knows?
Hey, you know what? You may fire when ready.
Hey, well yeah, so for those of you watching, we decided we were not going to force you to watch the intro this time.
This is episode three 47 of the one and only it in the D show. We are a bump broadcasting live in my living room. Dave's in his basement. Randy is in his front room, bedroom front room, mine it in the d.com where you will find all the things and uh,
again, as, as has become the norm. Uh, this is the part of the show where we usually talk about all our upcoming events and that kind of stuff. And yet still none. Nope. Nope. Stay at home. Got extended again then. Uh, so we're staying home. In fact, I got to, I got bored enough today. Uh, I know this, I know this makes Randy happy. I reorganized my bar. I uh, he was a, he was bitching cause all the bottles were intermixed. And so now all the vodkas are with the vodka is all the whiskeys are with the whiskeys and yeah.
Well plus we can't have events cause you don't want to get shamed by your neighbors or shamed by Facebook. And you know,
dude, like apparently social distancing snitches are a thing. That was one of the stories that bounced across like barbecue. Becky and I dunno what it w what would it be? Um, I don't know. Social distancing. Stacy, I don't know,
wrap on you, Karen. Um, well no, they're talking about, um, well there, there's, I wanted a couple of things I want to get into. One, the guy that is cutting hair out in West mission, right. And you know, he chose, um, cutting hair. He chose his livelihood over his help and basically open up his business. You know, he was, I don't know if he was ready to go bankrupt, but he already was fed up or I don't remember the exact what you know, but uh, he opened up in basically all the news caught wind, everyone co in social media, caught wind and uh, you know, there, I guess there was a like two hour wait to get a haircut. Cause like, just like me, I need, I need to get my in the borrower, but what am I supposed to do? Um, so this guy opened up and uh, yeah, uh, internet didn't like that very much. He basically didn't close them down.
Yeah. And I mean, I, it's not helping or it, I mean, I guess depending on your point of view maybe, but like the, uh, the local judge, uh, said he's not enforcing the, the closure order. Uh, he's not enforcing a restraining order. So I mean you're, you're really getting to the point where this shit is, there's going to be some like some ugly legal battles about, about this crap now. Like, forget, you know, I think my favorite one is, you know, don't worry so much about, uh, you know, the U S gravy seals, mealtime six, uh, don't worry about them as much. Uh, as you know, there's like this, this crap is going to be going on in the courts for years.
Well, apparently like there, there, there's a story that you were talking about this doctor, um, I guess he attended a rally and was hugging people and they caught him on Facebook and they basically trashed on him and his practice got a 68 year old doctor and they had to suspend him for a week. And really, you just like hugging people. Like, he wasn't really even like doing anything malicious or mean or angry. Um, but apparently like, yeah, across the country these complaints have led to shut down to like dog groomers, massage parlors,
the, uh, the lady in Dallas that opened it, uh, that opened up her hair salon. Um, that was the biggest story that, you know, she ignored the, you know, she ignored the closure order. She ignored the thousand dollar a day. Fine. Um, DASA. They threw her in jail.
Yeah. And I think she got out two days later or something, but she thinks she wanted to go in jail to be a murder. Of course, you know, I'm, I'm standing up for you. Um, you know, yeah. Like they're in Manhattan. Like people are like tea or, uh, profanity, posters of in tech, the telephone bulls chastising people who are not wearing face masks.
So there's a lot of stories that say like, basically, so that's, that's the new battleground. Like, okay. Everybody accepts that or, okay. Almost everybody accepts, looking at you, certain people that the virus is a real thing and that it's contagious. And now the big battle is masks. Like are, are you a deck if you don't wear one, are you too conservative if you do wear one, do I watch the guy in my neighborhood today outside Mona's yard by himself wearing a mask? I'm like, what are you doing?
Trying to look good for his neighbors kind of cops on them. Correct me if I'm wrong. I, you know, I will, I skimmed it before like, like uh, but did the us surgeon general tweet out don't wear mask, it doesn't matter today. Um, or was that fake and bullshit? I don't know. I didn't look into it.
I saw a couple of conflicting stories that came out about that. Randy, can you look, I believe he tweeted before that tweet was from before the advice had changed. That
was not today. Okay. No, sort of like the nine year old story that I shot. No, because I thought that came out today and I'm like, Oh my God, now what? Cause like,
well and I mean it's like we talked about, you know, so as long as you know, as soon as they put that caveat on there, that qualifier on there that said, uh, you need to wear a mask unless you're not medically able to do so. Like as soon as, as soon as I saw that loophole, every deck that just doesn't want to wear a mask is going to say, Oh well, you know, I've got severe asthma or, or I've got,
I wore my, my gang bandaid Crips, I don't know which it was. The Crips or the bloods was blue. One of my friends could tell her I'm going to go with the, the bloods are red Bob, that's free for shit. So yeah, I'm going to, I'm going to use the little pole. I don't feel good.
Well I don't, I mean, and a lot of people are having that issue. I mean it's, you know, it's, you know, there, there are, God, there are, there's at least five videos that scroll across my Facebook feed a day of someone making a home, like a mask at home, out of an old t-shirt, a pair of socks, you know, something. I mean, so they, you know, they're, they're all out there and that doesn't necessarily mean they're what you should be doing,
but I'm helping. Exactly. I was trying to, I was so bored. I was trying to get Ralph Wade on the, I'm helping me try to put a mask on him, photo shopping on my phone. I'm like, I'm not doing it. I don't want my stinky socks on my face. I would, I would assume you would use a clean pair, Bob. I would still like lingering foot issues. Yes.
Um, uh, so, okay, so, but this D nature is fascinating and, and I, and I got to touch on this cause this was because like, of course, you know, the new hotness is the murder Hornets, uh, that are sweeping across the nation. Um,
they're called siddiqa killers and they're common. They're coming in Asia. They're common in Asia. No, here they're called siddiqa killers. Look it up. Cicada killers are a different type of, I'm pretty sure they're go after Neilsa DACA. What? Cicada Cicada Cicada they're here already.
They're actually, those are different one. Um, those were different, but uh, so that video that I shot across you guys, it was fascinating. They were like Japanese honeybees have learned how to deal with these things. Cause basically one of these goes into a hive, um, of, of honeybees and like drops a couple of pheromones and then a couple more show up and they, they can plow through like an entire 30,000 bee colony in like an hour and just kill them all. Um, and so what these bees have learned to do is they wait for it to come into the hive and then they form this giant swarm ball around the Hornet and they start like vibrating and flexing their wing, their wing muscles and tip. Like the incredible part to me is so the, the, the murder Hornet cannot, cannot sustain above 115 degrees. These things vibrate to the point where they're at. And the honeybees can't survive over 118 degrees. They literally go right to 117 degrees to cook the stupid Hornet and their little swarm and, and then it dies and they're safe like that. Do that, like, that's like nature. Like just nature blows your mind. Life finds a way. Like just nature blows my mind sometimes.
I know you're getting all scared about these things. They killed 30 people a year.
Oh, I know, dude. It's not scary. It's not as good. I don't want to get stung by one. I mean, you saw that video.
My litmus test falling coconuts killed more people than the murder horrors.
Yeah. But I do it. I don't even want to get stung by one. You saw that video.
Oh, I love those things. Look, wicked man. The one guy got bit just for like a test to be thing screaming. It just reminded me of like Jack ask him.
Oh, it totally was. And apparently that's his whole essence of being. Yeah. There have been, uh, they found two dead ones in Washington and there was a small colony in somewhere in Western Canada that has since been exterminated. So these are not a serious threat to the U S no, they're not yet. Not at all yet. The article about Disney being on mass,
dude, Disney's a mess on a couple different levels, but we can start with that story you shot across. Yeah.
Well they're going through basically, you know, 14 theme parks are padlocked. Well,...
