Gavin has been the engineer for some of the best driers in the sport from the likes of Daniel Ricciardo, Mark Webber, to IndyCar’s Josef Newgarden and Pato O’Ward. Gavin takes us through what makes his approach to being a Team Principal different from others (00:00) Over the last decade there has been a massive shift in talent in IndyCar where weak drivers are now weeded out, Gavin takes us through just how competitive IndyCar is, and walks us though his way of leading the team (06:40). Arrow McLaren IndyCar team will be doing a three day livery launch and Gavin explains why the team is doing that (15:30). Tim and Gavin then discuss his drivers for this years IndyCar Championship and the difference between all three and what Gavin expects from them for this upcoming season (18:58). IndyCar has a docuseries but for those who live outside of North America can’t watch it, Gavin tells us just how important it is for IndyCar to be in that docuseries space, and accessible to everyone (30:35). Recently Motorsports lost one of the greats in Gil De Ferran and Gavin shares his memories on the Indy 500 champion (37:08).
