Ruth and Naomi's stories mean the world to me personally, because they are NOT stories based on perfection. Naomi had become bitter as a result of losing her husband and her sons, and she confessed her bitterness openly. Nevertheless, Naomi's bitterness was a moment in time - a season in her life - and it did not keep Ruth from following her to Bethlehem and it did not permanently mar Naomi's witness to Ruth. God was far greater than the season of weakness in Naomi's life.
We are all in process - in this process of sanctification, and praise God, it isn't how we start, but how we finish that matters most.
