  • A conversation with Maine's Senior US Senator Susan Collins

    Send us Fan Mail

Maine punches above its weight in the Senate.  If you want to make something happen or solve a problem, you call Susan Collins.

Collins is known for doing her homework.  You can bet that when she comes to a conclusion, she can back that decision up with facts, figures and intuition, gained from her experience.

I have known the Senator since 1994, but really got to know her when she ran for the US Senate in 1996.  While there are times when we don't agree on an issue, I have long admired her work ethic (She is a county girl at heart) and her attention to detail, never fearing to ask all the questions and get answers, so she can make a good decision.

  • Deception - We the people must stand up to deception, or be destroyed by it

    Send us Fan Mail

In this episode, I use two specific issues to demonstrate the kind of overall deception that is used by our government and our elected people to gain what ever it is they desire.  The two issues are about what really happened in Charlottesville VA seven years ago and the deception campaign that is being used by the Maine Turnpike Authority to destroy a 304 year old family farm in Westbrook Maine.

The good news ... you and I have the power to stop this great deception and set a new, brighter course for our country.

  • A Memorial Day Tribute - 2024

    Send us Fan Mail

Going back to my very early years, Memorial Day has always meant a lot to the people of my family.  My family has a long history of military service.

It was important to my Mom and Dad that me and my brother Jim had a strong understanding of what Memorial Day is and why it is important.  We always attended the parades and the commemoration services.

My wife Dee Dee and I continued that tradition with our four children.

I hope you enjoy the tribute I have put together with help from the History Channel and other resources.

Matt Jacobson is the director of sales and Marketing for Summit Natural Gas in Maine.  Jacobson attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis MD and then served as a pilot in the United States Air Force.

He has had a varied business career, head of a railroad company, leader of a lobster marketing co-op, head of Maine & Company - a business whose sole goal was to attract new industry to Maine.

In each case, the business entities fought the battle of energy vs environment and that is the battle we discuss on this week's podcast.

Jacobson is a frequent guest on my morning show and offers this conclusion when it comes to the energy battles in our country.  "There are no solutions.  There are simply trade-offs."
