It Was Found In My Heart

Where is God?

The times that we're in can lead us to ask this question, 'Where is God?' But the Spirit of God is teaching me that there are two sides to this question, two different perspectives, two different motivations behind asking this question. 'Where is God?" Listen to what was found in my heart.

Scriptural References:

Matthew 26:63-68
Romans 8:28
Luke 4:25-27
Matthews 13:22
James 1;13
Psalms 121:4
Proverbs 3:5-6
Philippians 4:6-7
Isaiah 55:11

Faith! We hear this word often, but do we really know what it means, where it comes from, where it goes or what it does?  What does the “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen” means? (Heb 11:1)  While studying and meditating on 2 Kings Chapter 5 this was found in my heart.

Heb 2:10  - Author and Finisher of faith
2 Peter 3:9  - No one to perish
Matt 11:30 - yoke is easy and His burden light
1 Tim 2:4   - knowledge of the truth
John 17:3   - only one true God
John 1:14  - the word became flesh

Comparing can tend to lean on the negative side, in the world and in Christ. In both cases it leaves us feeling useless, helpless and sometimes depressed.  As a Child of God, it's important for us to know that we are comparing, who is behind us comparing and how to refocus from comparing.

Scripture Reference:

Gen 2: 9, 3:5-6 - The Beginning of Comparing
Luke 4:3-13 - If it worked once maybe it'll work on Christ
1 John 2:15-16 - John reveals the Scheme that infected the World

With all the stuff going on in our world and thinking about my brothers and sisters in Christ as well as the people of Ukraine and Russia (who are unwilling participants in this war) I just want to remind you or let you know that no matter how things appear it doesn't mean that God is blind. Just listen, look and see no matter what we go through and you will realize that God is with us!

This was found in my Heart...

On the journey of faith we can have hills and valleys of certainty and uncertainty, building us up and moving us forward or weighing us down and keeping us bound. Knowing the tool the devil uses to keep us bound and weighted down we must understand the faces of conviction and condemnation. Roman 8:1 gives us a glimpse of the driving forces behind both.

Scripture References:

Romans 8:1: "1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

John 10:10: "10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

John 8:36: "36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

Philippians 4:7: "7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Romans 8:29: "29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren."

John 14:6: "6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

In Psalms 23:4 David writes about being in the valley, a dark place, where he didn't fear being there, because God was with Him.

When my wife and I found ourselves in the valley of OPEN-HEART SURGERY (my wife) God showed and continually shows us what it's like to be Servants in the Valley and the impact it has on everyone there with us.

Psalms 23:4 - "Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me."

1 John 1:5 - "This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all."

John 14:6 - "Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."

John 3:16 - "For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."

Isaiah 41:10 -  "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand."

Scripture References:

Holy Spirit

John 16:13: "13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth..."

John 14:26: "26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you."

Bereans

Acts 17:11: "11 Now the Bereans were more noble-minded than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if these teachings were true."

Who is the only one worthy of our confessions

Romans 14:11: "11 It is written: “As surely as I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow before Me; every tongue will confess to God.”

Finding the Great Pearl and letting go of everything else

Matthew 13:44: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.

From rags to riches

Isaiah 64:6: "6 All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like a polluted garment; we all wither like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away like the wind."

2 Corinthians 8:9: "9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich."

Embrace Grace; Disown Law

Galatians 5:4: "4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace."

Galatians 3:18: "18 For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on a promise; but God freely granted it to Abraham through a promise."

Galatians 3:1-2: "1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? ...
2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?"

Reflecting on our lives is one dimensional compared to God's heavenly dimensional point of view.

How we see our lives and our perspective of ourselves can be quite different from God's perspective and plan for us. Joseph and Moses gives us a beautiful example of this, as we know and see God leading them to the manifested Plan of God.

Joseph - Gen Chapters 37-50. God's Plan (Dream) 37:5-11

Moses - Gen Chapter 2-3. God's Plan (Burning Bush)  3:1-10

Before they were God had a plan - Gen 15:13-16

Working together for good - Rom 8:28

In Christ God's plan can be revealed and achieved. Eph 1:4
