One way some people fit millions of years into the Bible is to add a gap between the first two verses of Genesis. This puts death, animal carnivory, and thorns before sin—but these things are all consequences of sin.
Supposedly, during this gap, a pre-Adamic world existed. But Genesis teaches God created everything in six days. And Exodus also says that “in six days the Lord created the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them.”
There couldn’t be a world before Adam because the Bible teaches that everything was created in just six days. Instead of trying to add long ages into the Bible, we need to trust what God’s Word says.
