Maria Marasco left behind her home, her mother, and everything familiar in Italy to reunite her family in America. But the life waiting for her was far from easy.

After arriving in a small Utah mining town, Maria and her children faced poverty, prejudice, and heartbreaking cruelty. Hoping for a better life, the family eventually moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where a growing Italian immigrant community welcomed them with wine, olive oil, homemade food—and the enormous peaches of the Grand Valley.

Through financial hardship, devastating loss, and years of sacrifice, Maria continued finding ways to support her family. She baked bread in a backyard brick oven, peeled tomatoes at a local canning factory, tended gardens, raised children, and helped make it possible for her son Ferdinando to attend medical school.

This is the remarkable story of a resilient Italian immigrant woman, the community that embraced her, and the family that built its American dream from the ground up.

In 1911, Sicilian immigrant Concetto Formica was murdered while working as a musician with a traveling carnival in North Carolina.

His body was embalmed while his family tried to arrange a burial. But after a series of tragic events—including the mysterious death of his father just months later—Concetto was never laid to rest.

Instead, his body remained in a funeral home's garage for an astonishing 61 years, where generations of locals came to see the man they simply called "The Italian Mummy."

In this episode, Stephanie and Sandy uncover one of the strangest stories they've ever researched. Through newspaper articles, military records, immigration documents, and family history, they piece together the incredible story of Concetto Formica and the heartbreaking mystery surrounding his family.

Just one night later, Leno and Rosemary LaBianca were brutally murdered inside their Los Angeles home by members of the Manson Family. While the media focused heavily on the Hollywood victims, the story of the LaBiancas was often pushed into the background.

But as investigators dig deeper, they begin to question everything—was this a violent robbery… or something staged much closer to home? 

Then, we travel to 1920 California, where police break into a small house in El Cerrito and uncover a disturbing scene—seven adults, five children, burned money, shaved heads, and multiple Ouija boards. What began as an attempt to contact a lost loved one quickly spiraled into obsession, fear, and near tragedy. 

These are stories of grief, belief, and the moments when reality begins to blur—leaving behind questions that were never fully answered.
