Surpanakha, a Rakshasi and sister of Rakshasha king Ravana, gets captivated by Rama and tries to entice him and gets punished.

Rama, Lakshmana and Seeta spend 10 pleasant years in the Dandaka forest amongst rishis. This chapter begins the Aranya Kanda of Ramayana.

 In the Dandaka forest, Rama and Lakshmana were challenged by the Ugly form of Viradha, who is actually a Gandharva with a curse on him. Rama slays Viradha and liberates him from the curse.

Unable to convince Rama to end his exile and come back to Ayodhya to be its king, Bharata arrives at a compromise of being Rama’s Deputy in administering the Kingdom.

First time after Rama coming to the forest, all the four brothers have a very emotional meeting in Chitrakoota.

Guha and Sage Bharadwaja suspects Bharata’s intentions in coming with the large army and looking for Rama.
