Some of you may be thinking to yourself, as I did, well what is a woman of worth exactly? I don't know her and given my past, I am far from anything worthy!!!!

What value could I possibly have?

Have you seen my life?

Let me tell you.  There are few things more disheartening to a child than having one awesome story to tell and no one to listen to.  If you've been married, you know what I am talking about as I am sure you had stories to share with your hubby and he was checked out like an overdue library book.

As a mom, you're physically there, but mentally you are zoned out! I mean I don't know why, it's not like you are trying to hold the whole household together by YOURSELF! It's hard for a solo momma to put that aside and listen to things that appear trivial or uninteresting.

I Love You, But Please Stop Talking!

As families get together on this day to celebrate our freedom as an independent country many single moms may find themselves in bondage to the freedom they have seemed to have lost.

As Christian single moms, we know we find our freedom in Christ on this day and every day - as He desires to bless us physically, financially, and spiritually.

That's something to celebrate!

Have you seen the cost of a bag of shredded cheddar cheese lately? I don't know about you mommas, but Taco Tuesday used to be my cheapest meal of the week, now it is no different than anything else I put on the table.

With soaring gas, grocery, and housing costs coupled with supply chain shortages many single moms in crisis are now being presented with yet another crisis - homelessness. Working, motivated mommas whose rent is being raised beyond the reasonable now have to move and move out quickly!

Help! I am in crisis. What do I do next?

School is out for the summer!!! No having to scurry the kids in a hurry, no extra-curricular activities, no parent-teacher conferences, science fairs, and homework.

It's going to be a "sandsational" summer. 

You are going to kick it by the pool, soak up some sunshine, and bask with your babies at the beach.

Oh yeah, but you are a solo momma. You don't have the time or the dime for vacation, staycation, or even a few days off. Your clock says 24/7 and you can't even break for a break. It's summer and it's on you to be both the bus driver, lunch lady, PE & math teacher. In addition to, a logistical landmine and financial fiasco.

It takes courage to participate in life!

As solo mommas, we aren't just heads of our households for income tax purposes, we are spiritual heads of households for all purposeful incoming attacks on our household.

Of all the things we do as solo momma, whatever it is that we do, that is probably the easing most important thing a single momma has to do in a day. PRAY!

Just as our babies look to us as the ones with all the answers, we must look to the one who is the answer and has all the answers!

As a solo momma, you know how quickly the intended direction of your day can change based on unforeseen circumstances and your kiddo's schedules. It's hard work being the so-called "alpha and omega" of your household and how do we hold it all together? Especially, when there is one who wants us to fall apart.

Prayer matters. Prayer shatters.

On Mother's Day, you may soon realize, kids don't realize it's Mother's Day unless someone tells them. 

Sure they may make you a card in school, but come Sunday, they forget to get it out of their backpack. 

If I'm honest, I hadn't thought about it either when I woke up that first Single Mother's Day morning, until I woke up.  As I wiped the sleep from my eyes, I soon had to wipe away the tears as I thought about how no one was going to make me breakfast or have cards and a gift waiting for me on the kitchen table.

No one remembered to honor me that day!!! That Mother's Day was a huge disappointment and an epic failure to launch.

Whether it is your first Mother's Day as a solo momma or your 14th, Mother's Day-like holidays can be painful.
