It’s been over 13 months of being in quarantine and this summer is looking very promising. My girlfriends and I are planning a fun and safe getaway. Girl code applies - what happens in vacay stays on vacay! Grab a drink and listen in.

We are so busy with everything we have going on in our lives that sometimes it’s hard to squeeze in one more thing to do. Time gets away from us and that text or call didn’t happen. It doesn’t mean I don’t have the time for you, my brain is just fried and I forgot. We all have a lot on our minds. So what to do? Well, catch up when you can and don’t scold your friend when they haven’t reached out first because they are just as busy. Be easy on your friends and yourself. So, send that text or call that person that’s on your mind, when you get a moment or send them a coffee via DoorDash. That always works for me!

Ok wait.. Do you do that too when you meet a cool new person? I do and I can’t help it. Then when it fizzles out, I’m left asking what I did wrong or where it went sour. If you are like me, you know this happens a lot. But don’t worry, it’s ok. Listen in and tell me what you think.

Do you have a dream or goal in mind that just seems unreachable? You losses so much power and you have to unleash it. Stop being intimidated by others. You can do it! I believe in you! Today is a day to reflect an honor those women that have made us the women that we are today. I just wanted to send a quick little reminder to you that says that you are incredible, you are spectacular, and you have everything in your hands to do what it takes to change the world. Go get them girl!

We are all going through hard times and we are dealing with it the best we can. Be nice to yourself! Have you seen the movie, “My big fat Greek wedding”? Well there’s a part in the movie when the mom says to the daughter, “your father may be the head of the house, but I am the neck and I can turn the head any which way I want.” As a wife and mom, sometimes I can executive decisions about the kids because, well, I am the mom!! Now don’t get me wrong, I give the hubby the respect and honor he deserves but when it comes to the kids, that’s all me. Right now I am the one spending the most time with them so I feel like I know what’s best for them. He can tell me how he feels but ultimately I make the decisions when it comes to them. He is definitely the head of the household and I will cede other decisions to him. The kids are mine.

Being a mom isn’t easy. Some days you look at your kids like little angels and there are others when you wonder if they aren’t from another world. I love my kids and I’m sure you do too but there are days when I relate more to Cruella de Ville then to Snow White (yes I know totally different stories but it’s that extreme some days!). During quarantine, I have been left feeling more used and abused by my own family than I have by anything else. We work really hard and it’s not fair that they treat us poorly sometimes. Verbal and nonverbal communication are vital in any business or personal relationship. Isn’t it amazing when we feel heard and seen? We have to be more explicit with what we want because sometimes our hints aren’t understood. Gone are the days where we could imply what we needed or wanted. In this digital age, we have to express exactly what we’re looking for so that we get what we want and need. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

Let go of the idea that we have to be everyone’s cup of tea. Believe that greater things are coming when it comes to letting go of toxic friendships.
