The Ivory Tower Boiler Room welcomes our fourth guest, Shweta Krishnan, PhD candidate in Anthropology at George Washington University. Shweta is doing her field work on the revival movement surrounding DonyiPolo, a religion centered in the Northeast-Indian states of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. She also talks more generally about how bafflingly difficult it can be to do anthropological research in a way that is respectful towards the people you are writing about.
Below, you will find a glossary of terms and a bibliography; this is a new feature which, we are pleased to announce, will henceforth be part of our offering each week. We are aware of the fact that each specialized field has its own vocabulary and we hope that listing some of the terms we use in the course of the podcast will make it easier for non-specialists to follow along, and to explore further if they so choose. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nRFIR5SPapwLc6F3zS4wtyqRlFEk9XgjDOiPy4UF5I0/edit?usp=sharing
