James Gunn has confirmed he has discussed a potential Constantine 2 with Keanu Reeves, who is expected to reprise his 2005 role as the titular warlock. Despite ongoing rumors and previous confirmations from Reeves and director Frank Lawrence about the project moving forward, Gunn stated that he has not yet seen a script for the sequel. Gunn and Peter Safran, co-heads of the new DCU, have a policy of only greenlighting projects with approved scripts, so Constantine 2 remains an idea until a suitable screenplay is presented. The film would likely fall under the DC Elseworlds banner rather than the main DCU.
