Doctoroff is Chairman and CEO of Sidewalk Labs, an Alphabet company that is seeking to develop a new district that would serve as the global model for the 21st-century city, integrating great urban design with cutting edge technology.  From 2008 to 2014, Dan was President and Chief Executive Officer of Bloomberg L.P., the leading provider of news and information to the global financial community. Prior to joining Bloomberg L.P., Dan served as Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding for the City of New York. With Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, he led the city’s dramatic economic resurgence, spearheading the effort to reverse New York’s fiscal crisis after 9/11 through a five-borough economic development strategy. Dan also oversaw the creation of PlaNYC, New York’s pathbreaking sustainability plan.  He recently published Greater than Ever:  New York’s Big Comeback, a memoir-manifesto about his experience in City Hall. 

Before joining the Bloomberg Administration, Dan was Managing Partner of the private equity investment firm Oak Hill Capital Partners. While at Oak Hill, Dan founded NYC2012, the organization that spearheaded efforts to bring the Olympic Games to the city.

Dan serves on the Boards of the University of Chicago, Bloomberg Philanthropies, World Resources Institute and the United States Olympic Committee. He is the founder of Target ALS, which raises funds for and has established a new model of collaboration to advance ALS research. He is a founder and chairman of The Shed, an innovative new cultural institution on Manhattan’s Far West Side.

Dan is a graduate of Harvard College and The Law School at the University of Chicago.  A native of Michigan, Dan has lived in New York for the past 35 years with his wife, Alisa.

New #Janette’s TV episode - At the age of 15, Darian Shirazi, General Partner at Gradient Venture, interned at eBay as a code tester working on the third version of Sell Your Item. In early 2005, he joined Facebook as a Software Engineer reporting to Mark Zuckerberg as one of the company’s first outside hires. At Facebook, he contributed to several components of the social network’s products and the early versions of its mobile products. After Facebook, Darian studied Philosophy and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley for nearly two years before dropping out to work full-time on startups.

After leaving Berkeley, Darian began advising and investing in many startups including becoming the first investor in Udemy, the online education marketplace. He then founded Radius, the leading B2B Customer Data Platform, and served as the company’s CEO for more than seven years, growing the company to more than one hundred employees, raising more than $100MM of venture capital from top tier firms, and serving dozens of Fortune 500 customers.

In addition to these accomplishments, Darian is an early investor in the following companies: Lyft, Lending Club, Carbon Health, Palantir, Osaro, Casetext, Alloy.ai, Loft, and many others.

In 2012, he was recognized as one of Forbes’ top 30 entrepreneurs under 30 at the age of 24 and has been a guest of CNBC’s Squawk Box, Forbes’ Braintech at the Aspen Institute, Web Summit, and several other well-known conferences and events.

New #Janette’s TV episode - William Francis Bill Morneau PC MP is a Canadian politician and businessman who was elected in the 2015 Canadian federal election as the Member of Parliament for Toronto Centre. Morneau was executive chair of the company founded by his father, and Canada's largest human resources firm, Morneau Shepell, and the former chair of the C. D. Howe Institute. He has also served as the chair of the board at St. Michael's Hospital, and Covenant House in Toronto. He holds a BA from the University of Western Ontario, an MBA from INSEAD, and an MSc (Econ) from the London School of Economics (LSE). Since November 4, 2015, he has been Canada's Minister of Finance. On April 26, 2019, Morneau also took on the responsibilities of Canada's Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and Internal Trade. Morneau lives in Toronto with his wife Nancy McCain, a member of the New Brunswick family which owns McCain Foods, and their four children - Henry, Clare, Edward and Grace. The film which depicts Lloyd Vogel, a journalist for Esquire who is assigned to profile beloved television icon, Fred Rogers, hits theatres, Friday, November 22nd.
