This week Jaylin talks about bowel movements.... a lot.
This episode opens up with her insight and opinions on the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict that recently came out, stating her own personal views while also giving some insight into how he was able to not be convicted. She then spends the rest of the episode giving you advice to help you cope with another year in the pandemic, by talking about what a healthy stool looks like, to shit-talking the newest Marvel movie.

This week, Jaylin opens up the floor by talking about the recent controversy surrounding the Netflix special created by the one and only GOAT of comedy, Dave Chapelle. She talks about racism within the LGBTQ+ community and why the treatment of Chapelle shows that it can actually be more harmful than the overarching racism in society. She also uses this as a way to start a conversation on cancel culture, why its not real and not effective, but how it could be.

And she's back (hopefully for longer than a week...)
This week Jaylin starts of breaking her hiatus with first explaining why she was away before following that up with an explanation on why it's important to get vaccinated. She then talks about the Texas abortion ban, which bans almost all abortions after 6 weeks (before many women even know they are pregnant) but also gives private citizens the ability to sue those who have had or where involved in an abortion for up to $10k. She talks about why this legislation is extremely harmful and a massive hindrance on a woman's reproductive rights. Finally, Jaylin wraps up the episode with a personal story that encouraged personal growth all around and helped her to see how important a good conversation can be.

Another apology is needed for the late upload. Honestly you guys should just start expecting them from me by now. XOXO
This week Jaylin puts the parents of the world in the hot seat. She has open, honest, and vulnerable conversations on parenting, in every conceivable facet of it. She opens up the episode talking about her personal experience with her own parents and the topic of parenting in general, before making the point that parenting is based on effort and sacrifice, not blood or genetics. In the first part of the episode, Jaylin gives listeners the 4 Pillars of Good Parenting (Trademark Pending): making sure your child is cared for, making sure your child is healthy, making sure your child is happy, and making sure your child feels loved. She goes in depth about what it means to be a good parent along with a very sobering point that all parents need to acknowledge: your child does not owe you anything. She finishes up the episode by giving pieces of advice to new parents raising children in the digital age, giving some personal experiences and interesting aspects to how important it is to raise children as far away from technology as possible.

**So sorry for the late (Tuesday) upload! I unfortunately have been diagnosed with a terrible condition that makes it difficult for me to get off my lazy ass and upload. Hope you can support me through this troubling time by still listening to this week's episode ;)
This week, Jaylin is back, and better than ever. She opens up about the last 2 weeks including (but not exclusive to) the emotional and mental turmoil she has been battling in that time. She talks about how she's been feelings, why she's been feeling that way, and because of these two things, some changes that are going to be coming to the podcast (don't worry...all good things!) She then tackles the Olympics and their ban against Sha'Carri Richardson for failing a drug test, along with some of the more infuriating bans they have made, including a ban on swim caps for black hair and on two female runners from Namibia. Listen and enjoy as always.

This week, Jaylin takes on the Trump supporters head-on.
She first addresses some of the outrageous, offensive, and borderline insane Trump signs she has seen in the last several months, and then opens up the conversation as to why this behavior is not only inappropriate, but also concerning. She makes the point that we should not be idolizing or putting politicians on a pedestal, as it is not feasible for a functional democracy. Then, she has a very poignant response to the oh-so-overused Republican phrase "if you don't like it here, then leave". She then wraps up the episode talking about her favorite reality TV show that is being renewed for another season: Love Island!

This week, Jaylin opens up the episode by continuing on the topic in last week's episode on the death of George Floyd and the aftermath that followed. She shared a conversation she had with her mother just a few weeks ago in regards to the witnesses of Floyd's murder and why they did not "do more". She then pulls the state of Florida aside and lets them know that their racism is showing...again. Next, she wishes everyone listening a happy Juneteenth! Sharing what the holiday is about, why its important, and why it is useless to both the movement and black people in general when there is so much more important and essential work to be done. She then wraps up this week's episode by talking about our favorite Crazy Aunt, Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was recently caught in political crossfire for comparing Covid-19 Restrictions, vaccination requirements and mask mandates to the horrors of the Holocaust.

This week, Jaylin acknowledges the one year passing of George Floyd's murder that sparked a summer of protests, re-education, and conversation about race in America. She first talks about the trial, the evidence, the outcome, and the future of Floyd's murderer, Derek Chauvin. She than talks about the methods of allyship and activism that took place last summer, addressing the things that worked and should be implemented moving forward along with the things that....didn't. She then wraps up the episode by talking about police brutality and its relation with modern history, and how much has changed in the last couple of decades, along with what our relationship with race must be as we head into the future.

Happy Sunday! And Welcome to another episode of Jay Talks!
This week, Jaylin starts off the episode talking about the rules of tipping and how to practice good tipping etiquette when you go out to eat. She not only discusses how to tip well and why its important, but she also gives a tip (haha) on how to quickly and mentally calculate how to tip 20 every time you are out. Following that, is the main topic of this week's episode, is an educational conversation on getting vaccinated. Jaylin takes the time to share her personal vaccine experience before answering some commonly asked questions, debunking frequently shared conspiracies, and conversing on some of the overall thoughts individuals may have that are promoting vaccine hesitancy.

This week, Jaylin discusses the current discourse going on right now about the teaching of critical race theory and making topics like systemic racism and black history mandatory subjects to teach within our public education curriculum. First, Jaylin opens up the episode talking about the predominately Southern holiday known as Confederate Memorial Day, and speaks on the racial undertones it, and all other Confederate remembrance has. Jaylin uses that topic as a Segway into the rest of the episode, where she highlights not only the importance of accurate historical lessons being taught within our schools, but why its also important for a portion of those lessons to revolve around black history. With quotes, analogies, and personal stories, Jaylin's got you completely covered this week.
