Thursday November 14 at 7:30, the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis presents Odd Measures Evening. The show brings to the public a group of seven artists who pursue musical goals that are anything but mainstream. The show will be curated by Ritika Ganguly, who spoke with Phil Nusbaum.

The annual Zeitgeist new Music Ensemble annual Hallowe’en event takes place Thursday October 31 through Sunday Nov 3 at Studio Z in St Paul. The event features haunting sounds, spooky stories and commissioned musical works with Hallowe’en themes. Next, Phil Nusbaum talks to Pavel Jany about the release of a new CD by Natania & Ticket to Brasil. The release party will be at the Dakota in Minneapolis, Sunday Nov 3 at 7PM. The self-titled CD has original music plus pieces that have been around awhile. But, Pavel told Phil Nusbaum that even the bossa nova classics everybody knows get new spins from Ticket to Brasil.
