A public-private partnership that will provide 1,000 low-income Minnesotans with education and job training, free of charge, launched this week with the support of some heavy hitters!  Among them are U.S. Bank President & CEO Andy Cecere, Thor Construction CEO Ravi Norman and Lt. Roderick Cox, the Minnesota Orchestra’s associate conductor, leads the ensemble in a pair of unique concerts, this coming week at Orchestra Hall.  “Send Me Hope,” the show on Saturday, is a collaboration showcasing powerful works for orchestra and chorus, including a gospel work commemorating the 1963 Sixteenth Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham that killed four young girls―and Send Me Hope, conceived by Panion as a hopeful bookend to Here We Are.  Roderick joins Jearlyn.

PATTY PETERSON, our good friend, is presenting the Jazz Women all Stars at the Dakota, this coming Friday, October 6, 2017. Two shows, 7pm and 9pm.

In 2016, the Jazz Women All Stars made a terrific debut at the TC Jazz Festival in Mears Park and were a major hit. This ensemble series celebrates the great women of jazz artists in the Twin Cities including instrumentalists and vocalists.
