This collection of poetry in "A Soul's Journey" are poems that I've written early in my writing career.  I did lots of traveling to The Robert Frost Place in Franconia, NH, to the A.R.E. in Virginia Beach, Va, to hikes in the White Mountains of NH. I spent time observing my outer and inner universes. Every poet does this on some level, which makes for great insight. If you want to do anything from writing to art to business, you need to observe your outer universe. If you're lucky, you'll observe your inner universe as well.   The poems in this podcast are from my collection,  "A Soul's Journey," and my time at the Robert Frost Place in Franconia, NH. In poetry, the symbol, metaphor, of the two paths is a popular one because I think the two paths are all about decision, which is one of the most important principles we have in our life. Why? Because, decision changes everything in our lives. We make decisions everyday and even not making a decision is making a decision. These three poems of "Days of Darkness," "Vanlife Comes," and "You must go and Know" are all about the principle of decision. The Last poem "You must go and Know” is about myself when I started to write poetry. Why did I choose poetry? Well, it’s because I couldn’t manage to write a story. I’m still working on it because I think story is how we learn in this life, just look at all the movies and books out there in our world. November Memories 

We're entering the time of Thanksgiving.  This holiday is an American one started by George Washington many years ago because he was thankful for the end of the Revolutionary War. Now, many, many years past, we forget how it was without the freedoms we enjoy now. Oh yes, we had a pandemic where it was even hard to buy food or even go over to your family for the holidays. I think that it was harder back then.  But, we've had many difficult times in our history, and we managed to come out. We've also had many good times, and that's what this show is about, memories.

Two of the poems in this show come from my 2021 journal "April 2, 2021" and "April 4, 2021." The third poem was written last year at Thanksgiving called, "Before Thanksgiving." The song is "Podsafe for Peace." I just found out the website where you could purchase the song is no longer up. Remember these times in the present because all too soon, they will be gone as we all continue to move forward. Thank you for listening, and always stay creative in the magic of life.

All the poems in today's show are about the imagination. It's the greatest gift that our creator gave us. With this gift, we can create new inventions, new ways to being, and new ways that our lives can take. If we can imagine it within our mind, we can create it and in fact we do create our lives by what we focus on. So as you go about your day, focus on what your dreams are, and always stay created in the magic of life. The poems in today's show are "Character," "Raking Leaves," and "My Stuff." The poem "My Stuff: a narrative poem" was written in the early millennium. I revised it a little and added a stanza. We walk through our life, doing the everyday routine of work, eat, and sleep. We yearn for that which is unseen. We know something is there because on some level we feel it. This is the magic within life that all of us are connected to.  Our mind is the link to this, to soul, the higher part of ourselves that is closest to our creator and is a part of this creator. Once we know this we come closer to understanding the Great Mystery of God. God is everywhere and is everything. Ponder on this as you go about your day.  This is also the key to understanding the Bible on a deeper level. The air starts to get colder as our lives begin to change again. We all move as our environment moves, not the hustle of daily life, but the slower time of the seasons, even though the seasons may be a little mixed up,  our bodies remember the spring of new beginnings, the summer of maturity, the fall where we get out harvest of either good or bad, and the winter where we rest for a time to prepare for a new beginning. We move through our seasons within our experiences. This is what connects us, but also something deeper, a force that connects all life,  each other, the stuff we create, and the cycles of nature. It's okay to remember this connection as we move through our day today and every day. Hope you enjoy this show.
