Jeff Cavanaugh - Trust the Tape

The Cowboys went on the road and got destroyed by the Buffalo Bills and they didn't even need Josh Allen to do it. Join Jeff Cavanaugh and Jesse Holley working through the red flags from the Cowboys in this game.

Cowboys run defense exposed.

Offensive issues for Dallas.

Penalties penalties penalties.

Dak Prescott's MVP race.

Questions for Dan Quinn.

Why this team can't do anything on the road.

There are a couple of ways I like to measure how good an NFL team is at any given point and I'd like to walk you through them. What we have here is evidence that the Dallas Cowboys are absolutely good enough to win a Super Bowl. You know this is coming though. BUT.....

Their biggest challenge is something we'll navigate through here.

Plus a preview of Cowboys-Commanders tomorrow. Washington is not Carolina or New York. They can be feisty.

Let's run through the latest batch of Cowboys news: Micah Parsons was frustrated by his 'lack of impact' against the Giants and DC Dan Quinn had to address it this week.

We've now heard from Micah and we're gonna be ok everybody.

Mike McCarthy is being asked if Rico Dowdle should get more carries and I have thoughts.

Plus they signed a new defensive tackle! What you need to know about Carl Davis.

Martavis Bryant is making his NFL return after being reinstated recently. And guess who is swooping in to make them move? Of course it's the Dallas Cowboys! Let's talk about the why and what to expect.

And then we ended up with a mailbag whirlwind talking about Terence Steele, Tony Pollard and the running game, Mazi Smith and Luke Schoonmaker and all the other topics of the Cowboys day.

Jeff Cavanaugh and Jesse Holley previewing the Cowboys and Eagles this Sunday.

A big day for the Cowboys offensive line vs Jalen Carter, Josh Sweat, Haason Reddick and company.

Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb vs an Eagles secondary that has had it's struggles this year.

Dan Quinn, Micah Parsons and friends will have their hands full both schematically and with some of their matchups.

How does it play out? Let's talk about it.

42-10 against the 49ers leads to the first legitimate Dak Prescott discussion in a long time. Can this thing ultimately work? In a league with the superhero QBs and the genius offensive minds, can Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott really expect to win the whole thing? And if not.......

CeeDee Lamb is frustrated and he SHOULD be. The numbers tell you that he needs to be targeted way more than he has been this year.

What about this defense? That was supposed to be a given. And so far? Dan Quinn and his crew have a lot of work to do.

Thanks to everyone for helping with the Dallas Cowboys mailbag today. Let me hit you with some thoughts about the Cowboys in the red zone and why we don't need to worry about it.

• The abilities of Tony Pollard, Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn as goal line dudes.

The Cowboys smoked the Jets 30-10 and appear to be the best team in the NFL as of today. Let's talk about all the things we're learning including....

Micah Parsons, best player in football?

Dak Prescott and the underrated kickass offense.

CeeDee Lamb and efficiency.

A defense through two weeks that looks pretty historic.

I've got a few nuggets on a handful of Dallas Cowboys players after the dismantling of the Giants on Sunday.

How good was Tyron Smith in the season debut? I've got a stat that will tell you.

Tony Pollard on his return from injury? Same thing.

Dak Prescott didn't need to do a whole lot but based on what we did see, be encouraged.

Plus the Cowboys probably have the best cornerback group in the NFL with Trevon Diggs, Stephon Gilmore and DaRon Bland. The numbers back it up on a couple of these guys.

A few things I've learned while taking in Cowboys vs Seahawks in week two of the preseason.

We need to check our expectations for Mazi Smith

Feel free to ramp them up for Jalen Tolbert

Confident clarity in the Cowboys RB room

Rookie class may underwhelm

Offensive Line depth

DeMarvion Overshown injury
