Homes • Houses • Heroes Today, locally, in our homes and houses of worship, we need, our families need, some heroes who are champions that are raising up champions to be dangerously strong for the truth. I pray this message finds a place in your life... and that you find it to bring great encouragement and divine confidence to you. We don't want to waste our lives on things that are empty of heaven's presence and purpose. It's much easier than we think. It's not the things that are empty, as much as participating in them emptied or without the Lord's presence and purpose. He is what makes everyday things extraordinary! Notice this paraphrase of Jeremiah 9:3 "And like their bows and arrows they have intentionally and purposefully shaped their tongues to speak lies. They are not men and woman who are dangerously strong for the truth upon the earth. Matter of fact, look at their lives, they go from one thing to the next, living life empty of Me and nothing they do has any eternal value. Yes, they do not know Me" says the Lord" (Jeremiah 9:3)! The question is not, "WILL He raise up champions... who are dangerously strong (valiant) for the truth?" That is a definite, YES!!! The better question is, "Will He USE us to be part of it?" Prayerfully so... champions develop champions! And champions of truth celebrate the triumphs of other champions of truth. And anything less than that is considered to be good for nothing eternally or having no eternal value. It's not the things that are empty, as much as participating in them emptied or without the Lord's presence and purpose. He is what make everyday things extraordinary. Don't waste your life on things in this life that ar

  • What Every Believer Needs
What Every Believer Needs There are TWO—irreplaceable and indispensable—dynamics, that Paul pointed out to Timothy (2 Timothy 3:13-17), that the majority of the people I cross paths with have no clue of their significance or have simply chosen to neglect their value. What are they? • Personally knowing a pastor and continuing in the things they have taught and exemplified. Having an intimate and growing relationship with a pastor, who is compelled by the love of Jesus, that loves the Lord, His word, His people and being a servant of the Lord, a vessel of mercy, on mission to reach people for Jesus, teach people about Jesus and equip people to serve Jesus. • Personally knowing the Scriptures. Having an intimate and growing knowledge and understanding of the living Word of God that makes one wise of the rich blessings of saving grace and thoroughly furnishes and equips every servant of God—for every good work He assigns. They go together... those who equip and the tool of choice they use to equip—the servant assigned by God to shepherded your life—by and through the Scriptures. You see, this is why God gave these principles to us in that order. Know the man, what he teaches, how he lives and measure it all by the Scriptures. God's MAN • can be • should be • must be • MEASURED by the Scriptures. God's man is not perfect, but God's man follows Him, so God's man can be followed. And the more deceptive that men and times become...the more important these principles become to each of us. Deception is deception... whether you're following a deceptive leader or following none, it's still deception. These principles are fundamental... #nestingwithjesus

  • Agreeing and Acting — Confessing and Forsaking
Agreeing and Acting — Confessing and Forsaking Jeremiah 3 and 4 Who's more worn out, YOU or the ENEMY? Do WE weary ourselves to sin and make it way too easy for the enemy to trap us? Or...Is the ENEMY more worn out and frustrated in his attempts to seduce us? God told His people in Jeremiah 2:23-24 that they were acting like two female beast, a camel and a donkey, while in heat and "all those who seek her will not WEARY THEMSELVES; in her month they will find her." Why? Why is she so easily found? She's out looking and in the hunt for them! Just a few questions for us to ponder. A lesson learned from observing nature and a warning from God... May He grant us all repentance... Jeremiah 3:11-15 The danger… if we feed and nurture our flesh (weary ourselves in things that have no eternal value) we will reap the corruption of the flesh... yet if we sow to the Spirit and walk by the Spirit we shall of the Spirit reap that which is glorious and Godly. Gal. 6:9-11 ; 5:14-23 ; Rom. 13:14 ; Phil. 4:8-9 ; Heb. 12:1-5 1. Return to Me. (Trust and come to Me with yourself, your sin, your past and your future.) 2. Acknowledge your sin. (Confess... come and agree with Me that your sin is yours --- and it is just as I have described it to you. Come to Me and you will see your sin as I see it. You have knowingly trespassed against Me because of the wickedness in your heart... acknowledge it and I will heal you!) 3. Turn from these offensive things, for Me... give Me your heart and all that you are. 4. Welcome my love and forgiveness with open arms, you are Mine and I want to lavish you with My unfailing love. 5. I will give you shepherds and teachers that have a heart for Me

  • Circumcision in Jeremiah: How, Who and What Needs Circumcised?
Circumcision in Jeremiah: How, Who and What Needs Circumcised? Remember this… it's found throughout the Scriptures, including Jeremiah. The root to all and any transgression, iniquity, guile and sin will always BE that we chose to trust our own ways and solutions rather than trusting, acknowledging, repenting and walking in ways of God. Which, relationally speaking, by God and through His grace is the right way to live and the only way not to transgress. (Hosea 14:9) A man that's NOT persuaded by the word of God will NOT be persuaded by anything else that God has done or will ever do. It's takes a little more than eyes, ears and a brain to see, hear and recognize God's supernatural handiwork. So don't be surprised when men can't see what you see. You nor I could see, hear or understand what what He's done and doing, if it were not for God supernaturally working in nature and our hearts. "...but LORD has NOT given you a heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day" (Deuteronomy 29:1-4). Natural things require natural abilities... like hitting or catching a ball. For one of my grand arrows to hit the ball, they'll need to keep their eye on it. But their eyes nor my eyes can help us see supernatural things. Supernatural wonders take a supernatural work of God to perceive and understand. Moms and dads, uncles and aunts and pawpaws and mawmaws can teach how to keep your eye on the ball but God can only give what is needed to keep our hearts eye upon Him and His wondrous works. God highlights two areas that were hindered, obstructed and impaired from hearing, seeing and loving the ways of God. Their heart and ears… remember, hearing is seeing and y

  • It's Better than Life — What?
It's Better than Life — What? Forsaking the Lord, the fountain of living water and relying upon the broken and bacteria filled resources and reserve of lies… (Jeremiah 2:13)  When we forsake the Lord, we forsake Him for something that is empty of Him. It's not empty... the contents within it are empty of Him. The cisterns we form and feed upon fuels and feeds our flesh but leaves us dry of the Lord and unable to water others for Him. So we water and encourage them with is something less than Him and His grace. It's corrupt and rotten. Season upon season and day upon day... they continue to display the beauty of life. And as seasons change and the days fade away --- they remind us that we need something more than what this life offers. Something that is sure, steadfast and unchanging. And, as David declared and faithfully proclaimed, I also want to testify to His unfailing and steadfast love. He said, "Because Your lovingkindness is better than life itself, my lips will not cease to praise You." #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah #jeremiah1 #jeremiah2 #jeremiah5 #thecommoncalloftheservantofGod #prophet #priest #calling #ordained #formed #sanctified #chosen #2timothy2 #cisterns #fountainoflivingwater #leverage #hope #win #water #witness #edify #equip #encourage #evangelize #lovingkindnessbetterthanlife #psalm63 #psalm39 #jeremiah2 #psalm72 #manisevil #fallenmansbestisvainandempty #vapor #wealth #women #wine #beststate isaiah #dropinbucket #dustonascale #cisterns #broken #stagnate #polluted #water #forsake #forbidden

  • Will We Acknowledge… They Wouldn't!
Only Acknowledge… Jeremiah 3:11-15 Some excerpts from the Saul Syndrome Conference material I teach to help churches recognize the alarms of a wayward and backslidden heart. Grace: "Grace is God's way of gratifying Himself" God can ONLY be gratified — by His own gift of life — in Christ Jesus. Grace defined: Grace is God cheerfully and delightfully gratifying Himself, for Himself, in the face of deserved wrath, through the life and finished work of Jesus. (Titus 2:11-14 ; Eph. 1:3-14, 5:22-32) Backslider defined A backslider is one who has returned to an area of their past life to think, feel, and do what they know naturally and feel most confident and comfortable with, while giving their back to God's word, wisdom, and ways. "Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I will not cause Mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever. [13] Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed My voice, saith the Lord. [14] Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: [15] And I will give you pastors according to Mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding." (Jeremiah 3:12-15) Repentance defined: Repentance is a gift of God's grace that effectually causes an individual to turn his mind, soul and body away from a specific sin and to accept, affirm and applaud the deliverance and life found in C

  • Forbidden and Forsaken Love
Forbidden and Forsaken Love Jeremiah 2 takes us back… and reminds us of many days gone by. He takes us on a memory tour to better days. Back to the best days of Israel's fondness and young love and youthful courtship with her glory and love. The best way to see the problem we should look at the end of Joshua's blessings upon the nation and the transfer of leadership to another generation that KNEW not the Lord. A generation of fathers who, by all indications, didn't insist, instruct, influence and indicate the priorities of God. A generation that followed went after lawlessness and loves and list that abandoned and reject God's tender and affectionate love over them. (judges 2) Now, generations later, their taste for the forbidden is beyond neglecting… and they see it as an utter abomination to depart from it. They tell the prophet it is useless and hopeless to even try… they love who and what they love and they ain't changing. Come walk with us through chapter 2 and you'll get an ear and eye full of God's gracious goodness and the despairing gravity of a failed union. #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah #jeremiah1 #jeremiah2 #jeremiah5 #jeremiah13 #jeremiah16 #jeremiah36 #thecommoncalloftheservantofGod#prophet #priest #calling #ordained #formed #sanctified #chosen #2timothy2 #cisterns #fountainoflivingwater #leverage #hope #win #water #witness #edify #equip #encourage #evangelize #lovingkindnessbetterthanlife #psalm63 #psalm39 #jeremiah2 #psalm72 #manisevil #fallenmansbestisvainandempty #vapor #wealth #women #wine #beststate isaiah #dropinbucket #dustonascale #cisterns #broken #stagnate #polluted #water #forsake #forbidden

  • A Peek into Jeremiah — A Man made for the Message, Ministry and Moment
A Peek into Jeremiah — A Man made for the Message, Ministry and Moment We closed out the month in Titus and we don't want to miss the heart the bondslave of God. As we think of Paul and what he unveils in Titus 1:1-3 — his heart to reach, teach, equip and mobilize the people with the gospel, truth and hope. Jeremiah 26:2 (Acts 5:20) Speak ALL the words I command you. Don't diminish a word… or hold back anything I give you. Don't shave off the rough edges of my message and smooth out the message that it won't be hard and harsh. Jesus message to Jerusalem… Matthew 23. His last public word was so grave and harsh. But He spoke what He was given. The vision of the almond tree… The boiling water in the pot… The season of wrath and judgment was coming and the nation was in hot water. Jeremiah's ministry endured 5 kings and a captivity. Jeremiah's assistant, a scribe, Baruch was sought out to pen what God had given. (Jeremiah 36) Jeremiah is confined and restricted but God is not… and He had a plan to get His message to the people. What did the king do? He threw the scroll in the fire. Was God done? No! What did God do? He had him pen it again. What did God tell Jeremiah to do in Chapter 13? The girdle… Two trips, some 1,000 miles, to illustrate a message. When God sends you, is it too extravagant? What was the message? His people were unprofitable, or good for nothing eternally. Jeremiah was instructed to not take a bride nor have sons or daughters, why? (Chapter 16) What did God take away from Judah? #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah #jeremiah1 #jeremiah2 #jeremiah5 #jeremiah13 #jeremiah16 #jeremiah36
