Hids kicks off this episode with a dive into the alleged life and death of Joan Wytte from Bodmin, Cornwall, UK.
Then Jess talks about logomisia, or word aversion. Heads up, if certain words make you cringe, you might struggle a bit with this section, but it's still fascinating so we hope you keep listening!

Because life is crazy at the moment, we decided to postpone our next episode! We want to make sure we're giving you quality stuff that isn't haphazardly thrown together while we're both stressed about other things!
BUT, we did want to share some warm embers with you, and talk about all the fun we're gonna have in April!! We're SO excited!

#NotACryptid - We both learned new things this week as Jess takes us on a little trip to ancient China and the history of the Fu Dogs! We initially thought these were in the 'mythological beast' category but we found out they are really just lions.
Hids takes us down under to Australia in 1932. Soldiers are coming home from the war and being given wheat farms, but a new battle arises. This one is against a very wary adversary: the emu! In a strange turn of events, a battalion of the Australian army goes up against 20,000+ emus...and loses.

Hids lost her voice! Sadly, we couldn't get a new episode out for you all this week, but we decided to release one of our Patreon-exclusive After Pie Sessions instead! (Head to Patreon for more information about that perk!)
We hope you enjoy!

We didn't plan to have another Raven Riff so soon, but here we are! Travel time and some extra work hours pushed back our recording sessions and we had this one in our pocket ready to go.
We really had fun watching this one. It's a 1982 classic from Wes Craven. There's a lot of campy stuff, but it's a fun romp through the bayous of Texas and good and bad prosthetic work.

In this week's episode, Jess takes us back to the mountains of Western North Carolina, a place that Hids knows and loves so well! We talk about the mysterious Brown Mountain Lights...are they spirits, aliens, mushrooms, or trains?
Hids tackles a subject that's been on everyone's mind that past few years: Artificial Intelligence, or AI. We could honestly have multiple episodes on the vast amount of information, but for now, we do a brief discussion of the timeline of AI, and what some of the hopes are for the future of AI in our every day lives.

Jess gets all the women! In this episode she talks about the Night Witches of World War 2, a group of Russian female pilots and mechanics that ran impossible missions against all odds.
Hids shifts gears and talks about sports. Yeah, it's weird for us to talk about sports, but we are kind of obsessed with Kabaddi! It's an ancient game from India that is now played professionally around the world!

Every so often, we're going to be dropping a movie 'review' of sorts instead of our typical podcast episode.
This is where we riff on and discuss some wonderfully cheesy movie from the past, and then we'll give it a Raven Rating!
This week we're talking about Treasure of the Four Crowns. This movie was filmed in 3D and oh buddy, they definitely did alllllll the 'comin' at ya' shots they could squeeze in!
