In the Bible, accounts are given of various men but as we study Jesus, we study a true man. In this passage, Jesus is taken from Caiaphas and a sham trial to Pilate. With this turn of events, Biblical prophecy (concerning how Jesus would die) will be fulfilled. Jesus came to bear witness to the truth, which is what we witness in this passage as Pilate interrogates him. This leads to the question of what is more important, God’s word or man’s word, and who and what will we follow?
