Hey guys, welcome to the prayer series! In today’s episode, we are going to talk about these BIG questions I hear often. 

Ok, the big question I hear a lot guys. “Is there a wrong way to pray, or how do I pray, or is it all right? Is He really listening?” 

I want to take a look at his passage in Matthew 6 and break through the first part of this question. IS there a wrong way to pray?  Let's dive into the 6 elements of prayer!

Hey Friend!

Did you know we were designed to pray more than a little? Prayer was given to us from the Lord, we are called to talk to Him with the power of the Holy Spirit then pray for His will & His desires, not our own will & desires. We aren’t given entrustments from Him to steward on our own, we are called to steward them with the help of the Holy Spirit and guard them from the stain on the world the enemy tries to devour us with. This stewardship starts with our salvation and prayer. Let us guard these good deposits by letting the Holy Spirit lead and intervene all while keeping our eyes on eternity for the perfect plan of His kingdom. Let us pray together for everyone's desires & stewardship in their entrustments to align with His heart, let sanctification take its place, and to steward our prayers for His glory.

VERSES MENTIONED ON THE SHOW TODAY:

• We pray because it was a command - That is pretty plain and simple. 

16 “Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” -1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

• We pray because it is powerful and changes things -

14 “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” -James 5:14-16

• We Pray because it leads us away from temptation-

41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” - Matthew 26:41

• We pray to align our will with His will -

38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me.” - John 6:38

• We pray for the Holy Spirit to guide our minds so that we can pray in His name-

The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. -1 Peter 4:7

• We pray to be in communion with God - (think eternity on my eyeballs)

3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” -Revelation 21:3-4

• There is power in the prayers for a righteous person - This just means a person who is following the Lord and has surrendered their life to Him. 

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.    - James 5:16        

• There is power in prayer as it builds your relationship with our Heavenly Father - 

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7

I can't believe we are here guys, this is the LAST episode of the Platform Series! I am praying over you and your platforms - know that friends, truly.

We are talking all about stewarding our social media accounts with characteristics of God and how we can practically do that with the help of the Holy Spirit in us.

God gives us all these spaces. These physical, digital, mental, emotional, and relational spaces. They are gifts. We are called to be present with Him in them, we are called to drink from the living water in them, we are called to abide in His word in them, and we are called to disciple in them. 

 We are called to surrender it all to Him in them.

Joanna is a Bible teacher, speaker, and writer who loves God and His Word.. Quinn Kelly is a wife, mother of four, blogger, speaker, podcaster and licensed marriage and family therapist that is committed to encouraging others in their relationships and life. 

She originally graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism but after working for a year after college, she felt she had missed her real calling for helping people so she went back to school and received her master's degree in marriage and family therapy.

Shortly after beginning her therapy practice, Quinn started her blog called Sanctification and Spitup -- a place where she could combine her love of writing with her love of encouraging others all into one. This blog allowed her writing to be published on sites like Today Show’s Funniest Parents, Huffington Post, Scary Mommy, Family Share, Love What Matters and Mother and Baby Australia.

After beginning to speak and teach groups in the Houston Area, Quinn felt called to lead her own conference and thus began the Renew Faith Conference, which led to three conferences with over 900 combined women in attendance. 

From those conferences, the Renew You Podcast was birthed -- a podcast created to encourage others to find renewal in their everyday life through therapy and faith in a fun, fresh and engaging way. Her guests have included people like Demi Tebow, Tauren Wells, Korie Robertson, Dr. Caroline Leaf and Danielle Coke. 

Quinn is currently writing her first book on parenting boys and looks forward to sharing it with the world in 2022.
