Your history is yours, it’s what’s made you who you are. It may have been great – but for many people, the past is checkered with hurt and heartache. In his message today, though, Pastor Daniel urges you to look at your past through God’s eyes. Look for the places where He’s touched your life! Those moments of “yes, it’s hard, but God came through” – and let that be a reminder the next time you face a season of heartache!

Think of a time when things just seemed right. Maybe it was a special moment with the people you love or when you were overwhelmed by a breathtaking sunset. Whatever they were, these times serve as a reminder of the abundant life Jesus wants for you, the one filled with Him. In today’s message, Pastor Daniel shares that God gives you the choice of how you want to live. Will you honor and follow the Lord into abundant life or go your own way?

You probably have had someone in your life who encouraged you to be better. Maybe it was a teacher or a neighbor. Maybe was someone in your family. Whoever it was, they wanted you to flourish. And that’s exactly what God wants for you too. But He’s not pushy about it. Today, Pastor Daniel explains that God is a gentleman. He respects your choices, but He’s always inviting you into more. He wants the best for you because He loves you.

God never intended your walk with Him to center around Sunday mornings and following a few rules. It’s way more than that. It’s the totality of your life. Today, Pastor Daniel shares that following the Lord is about letting Him into your life, letting Him change you from the inside out. It’s about you maturing in love so that you can bless your enemies and pray for those who are against you. It’s about simply responding to Jesus every day.

God wants you to fully experience the abundant life that He planned for you. But the ball is in your court. Today, Pastor Daniel shares that the blessings that God has for you come as you live in line with His ways. But this isn’t something you have to do on your own. You only need to simply respond to Jesus. He’ll show you the next step and give you everything you need to take it. God is with you and He wants to give you good things.

The theme of justice is woven through the entire Bible. It’s even in the passage you’re invited to study today. You see, God cares about justice because it’s part of who He is. Pastor Daniel shares that God was reminding the Israelites of the need to treat people justly and compassionately. And He’s asking you to do the same thing. He wants you to come alongside people who need help, to reach out to those who are vulnerable or being mistreated.

Jesus didn’t come to earth to give us big theological words to talk about. No, he came on a rescue mission because we can’t be right with God on our own. That’s why, as Pastor Daniel shares today, you should talk plainly about how Jesus makes a difference in your regular, everyday life. That He radically changes things where it matters, on street level. People don’t need a lesson on theology, but God’s grace in their brokenness.

You always have a choice. You get to decide how you respond

to what’s happening in your life. This is as true for us now as it

was for the ancient Israelites hundreds of years ago. Today,

Pastor Daniel starts off a new series in Deuteronomy with the

reminder that God wants to bless His people but He always gives

us the choice. He cautions you that it can be easy to forget that

the results of those decisions can be more costly than you

realize.

It’s obvious that things are more than a little crooked in the world. Today, Pastor Daniel explains that following the Lord doesn’t mean that you walk around ignoring the brokenness and injustice around you. But, instead of letting those things consume your focus, you should allow them to spur you on to look inward and see if they’re present in your heart. Ask God to help you see where you’re off track and let Him transform your life.

Little kids are constantly wanting to do things on their own. They don’t want people to help them. Well, that doesn’t change much as you get older. In this fiercely independent culture, we usually try to take care of things ourselves. But, as you’ll see in today’s message, we need to ask God to be in charge. Pastor Daniel unpacks how David recognizes that something needs to be done, but he asks God to do it. He wants God to take the lead.
