Jesus is Real Radio with Daniel Fusco

If you’re spinning your wheels for things that have no eternal value, then you know spiritual frustration. Everything you’ve made, or saved…all those things go away when you die. Jesus was explicit that we should lay up treasures in heaven. Today, Pastor Daniel explains how Jesus is the source of all things that matter in eternity. A person has to abide in Him, or like a branch that falls from the tree, the spirit withers and dies along with the body.

If you were the owner of an apple orchard, you’d want the trees in it to be full of apples. Likewise, God wants His children to bear fruit…to see our lives lived full of love, joy, and peace. As we’ll hear today, Pastor Daniel teaches that as branches borne from our Father, we have to be connected in order to be fruitful. That fruit will not only glorify God, but will bless others as well. It’s not meant for us alone…a disconnected branch withers and dies.

If you love somebody, you don’t want to hurt them. And as you’ll hear today, part of loving God means not wanting to break His heart. The first step to doing that is by obeying His commands. As Pastor Daniel explains, none of us are completely obedient… so, what does that mean for believers? His commandments aren’t burdensome, and through Him we can hear Him, and respond. We are growing, we fall, and we seek forgiveness.

During the ministry of Jesus, He wasn’t offered thousands of dollars for speaking engagements, or lucrative book deals….His motives were pure, and the message is the same today. He is out for one thing, and that’s for the hearts of people to follow Him. As you listen to Pastor Daniel speak about how Jesus calls Himself the Way, the Truth and the Life, consider whether there has ever been another like Him….offering a better way, a new life.

If you’ve spent much time in a church, you’ve probably become accustomed to the image of Jesus on a cross. Today, Pastor Daniel will exhort us to step into resurrected life through Jesus. We can be stuck in a rut of continually wanting to die to ourselves--and we should give up our flesh--but Jesus is looking to do something brand new. We worship a resurrected Savior, and if we believe, then we can move forward living a new life in Him.

Loss of life is never easy, no matter if it’s expected or not. It hurts because people were never meant for death. But, even though it’s a part of life…Jesus intervened. As Pastor Daniel teaches about Jesus, Lazarus, and how death is not what we think…consider a different perspective. God’s ways are different than ours. For us, death seems like an ending, but for believers…it’s merely a transition into eternity, the epitome of life.

There aren’t many of us who could say that we aren’t stubborn when it comes to doing things a certain way. We consider our way the best…even when it comes to God. As Pastor Daniel teaches today, we’ll hear about some of the ways that God sees things differently, and why we often struggle against Him. Simply, His ways are higher and better than ours, and we don’t always like it…consider today why His purposes work for you, not against you.

If you are a part of the family of believers that follow Jesus, than you know the grace and power of the Good Shepherd. But, there are many people who don’t yet know Jesus, and today Pastor Daniel will share about how the body has to come together to seek after those sheep, leading them to the safety that the Shepherd brings. But first, you have to lay down your life just as He did…so He can remake you to reflect His nature.

To make orange juice, you pretty much have to pulverize the oranges. Part of Pastor Daniel’s message today explains how life comes from death…and the way that Jesus proved that through His statement, “I am the Good Shepherd.” A shepherd was willing to give his life for his flock, just as Jesus did for us. Today, you’ll be challenged to consider whether you’re willing to die to yourself…in order for others to see Jesus in you.

Most of us crave relationship with others…we were made that way, to be like our Creator. But relationships can be messy and hurtful as much as they can be joyful and fulfilling. Jesus came for the purpose of relationship with us…so we can truly know our Father. As Pastor Daniel teaches today, there is only one way to achieve that goal…and that’s through the Messiah. He’s the only door, and He opens others so we can have fruitful bonds with others as well.
