Jesus is Real Radio with Daniel Fusco

No one likes to be told that there is only one way to do something. But, if the one way to do something is exclusively true…than that’s the only way. Today, Pastor Daniel will teach about the statement we hear from Jesus, “I am the door.” Jesus says it clearly in the Word that He is the ONLY way…which makes a lot of us uncomfortable. . But it’s not bragging coming from the Savior…He is the only bridge to abiding with the Father.

Whether it’s someone close to you, or a person whose behaved badly in the news…we’re always silently judging someone. When we see someone caught in sin, what should be our response? To look inward. That’s the challenge we’ll receive today as Pastor Daniel examines how Jesus handled the situation of a woman caught in the act of adultery. The evidence against her was clear, there was a logical penalty…but Jesus acted in an unexpected way.

Jesus modeled a close, private relationship with His Father every time He took time to get away and pray, to seek God. Pastor Daniel will challenge you to consider this kind of relationship with God…is your time with Him private before it’s public? We live in a time with endless distractions..something always happens as you’re seeking time with Him. But, you have to prioritize that time…letting go of fear and selfishness to hear from Him.

As a kid, you made all kinds of excuses to get out of doing what you were supposed to do, and as adults we do the same with our heavenly Father. It may not seem as childish or belligerent in our minds…but it’s the same spirit. Today, Pastor Daniel will challenge us to be responsive to Jesus. When He calls us, respond immediately. This life is short, and eternity can happen in a moment. With that in mind, there’s really no time to waste.

How many times have you asked God for a sign before you’ll move forward…wanting a miracle to just make you believe? Today, Pastor Daniel will explain why—even with miracles and signs—a heart won’t be changed. Starting from a place of distrust is the wrong motivation…and won’t result in any spiritual growth. Listen as we hear about the true bread…the one given to all people, not for physical sustenance…but eternal.

Jesus placed a high value on social compassion. During His ministry on earth, He was ceaselessly meeting people’s needs. Today, Pastor Daniel will tell us how to use that as a starting point for ourselves. We can meet people’s tangible needs, just as Jesus did for the multitudes when the people were hungry. We shouldn’t miss out on meeting a simple need because we’re looking to do something revolutionary. A little lunch goes a long way.

As a follower of Jesus, you’ve heard that you’re meant to invest in eternity…but that doesn’t mean you’re supposed to mail it in during this life. As Pastor Daniel will explain, it’s about giving up your version of this life so that you can live the most abundant one right now. You have to give up on the idea that you even know what you want…it’s not just a dash of Jesus, but a life saturated with His love and fellowship with Him every day.

Blame is such an easy way out. No one really wants to take ownership of their failures and flaws, but it’s necessary in order to grow. As we’ll hear today, that’s especially true when it comes to our spiritual lives. There is a way out of that slump, though…and it begins with just doing the simple things you’re asked to do. You wouldn’t expect a first year med student to perform surgery…and you have to work your way to spiritual maturity.

If God is infinite and we are finite…it would stand to reason that we don’t know as much as Him. But, the longer we know Him…the closer we can get. As Pastor Daniel describes today, there are things that spouses learn about each other over the course of a marriage…but even then they can’t know EVERY thing about each other. God, in His wisdom…knows when to give us information and when to keep it from us.
