Another week when Max pulls the curtain back!
OL situation might not be as bad as it seems. Leave safeties alone!
Full disclosure! I woke up to this while away in Maine for a few days. I grabbed it from X. Anyone who doesn’t think Garrett Wilson is an elite wide receiver, please watch this twice!
Sunday's 31–24 loss in Detroit was a bitter pill to swallow, drop-kicking the Jets to a 1–2 record following consecutive weeks of near-misses. Geno Smith put on a masterclass of composure under heavy pressure, throwing for 321 yards and three touchdowns while completing over 83% of his passes to keep New York punching toe-to-toe with the Lions' high-powered attack. However, the heroic downfield efforts of Garrett Wilson and Kenyon Sadiq couldn't hide the fundamental breakdown up front, where the offensive line surrendered five sacks and a relentless 55% pressure rate. Coupled with an invisible front-four pass rush that allowed Jared Goff to stay comfortable and Jahmyr Gibbs to notch three touchdowns, Detroit ultimately won the line of scrimmage when it mattered most. The final stat sheet tells no lies: until the Jets fix their trench play and close out end-of-half possessions, these competitive efforts will keep ending in heartbreak.

Jahmyr Gibbs scored three touchdowns, including a go-ahead 11-yard reception with 2:25 remaining, as the Detroit Lions held on for a 31–24 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday.
Gibbs delivered a massive performance, racking up 164 total yards (99 rushing, 65 receiving). His game-winning score capped a drive where Detroit capitalized on late blown coverages from former defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn’s defense.
The Jets (1–2) fought back from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to tie the game at 24–all behind touchdown passes from Geno Smith to Jeremy Ruckert and Garrett Wilson, along with a two-point conversion to Sterling Shepard. Smith finished 31-of-37 for 321 yards and three scores. However, with a chance to drive for the tying or winning score late, Smith lost a fumble on a sack by safety Chuck Clark to seal New York’s second consecutive late-game collapse.
Jared Goff paced Detroit (2–1), completing 25 of 32 passes for 269 yards, two touchdowns, and zero turnovers. Rookie Kenyon Sadiq provided a spark for the Jets’ depleted receiving core, catching seven passes for 105 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

In Jonathan Falco’s Falco On The Fly video breakdown, he summarizes three core matchup storylines ahead of the Jets’ Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions:
* Containing Jahmyr Gibbs: Highlights Gibbs’ explosive early-season start on the ground (over 200 rushing yards through two games) and setting up the battle against a stingy Jets run defense.
* Attacking Detroit’s Depleted Secondary: Points out the Lions allowing over 30 points and 300+ passing yards per game, particularly with key safety injuries, creating opportunities for Geno Smith and the Jets passing attack.
* Offensive Line Health: Touches on injury reports along the Lions’ offensive line (Blake Miller and Tate Ratledge) and how those health storylines could impact Detroit’s protection up front.

Why can’t the Jets run a quarterback sneak? Is it the quarterback, the center, the guards or all of it?
