- Dead Thieves"Dead Thieves" is a hard rock guitar instrumental that's built on a solid A Major guitar hook, with a drop to an E minor almost hip hop groove style riff for the bridge. Cut down the middle with a killer guitar solo that blends melodic and shred, and this is yet another track of mine that's worth blowing some speakers over. A lot of Van Halen influence here, but also some Jazzy vibes going on too, especially with the root chord changes of the track and during the solo.This track was produce for film and television licensing. I want to remind a few people here on soundcloud who seem to think that if someone puts a track online, it's theirs to have and do with what they will. That's not true and it's illegal. My music is both copyright protected and registered with ASCAP for double rights protection.Funny thing is most people who do what I do in the TV and film industry, don't post their music for you all to listen to. It was once said to me that posting songs online is a bit like parking a nice car in a bad neighborhood with the keys in it. That's been proved true to me recently here on soundcloud. - Camella Toe"Camella Toe", was produced for a local filmmaker here in Los Angeles. This is a serious Hard Rock guitar instrumental that blends a couple different feels and vibes. It's built on a solid A minor power-chord guitar hook, with a mode changing Bridge that breaks the feel up just a pinch, but not too much. This track is cut down the middle with an MXR Phase 90 fueled guitar solo that's pure improv shred on my part. Taking some cues from Van Halen and Rhoads, with a pinch of Jeff Fiorentino thrown in for good measure. The solo opens with picked arpeggios ala Randy Rhoads, and drifts into some serious EVH vibes from there for the most part.Enjoy.. and as always CRANK IT UP!! This is a melodic Blues piece that moves through Aeolian, Phrygian, and Harmonic minor changes at its rhythmic heart. - Wendy Day"Wendy Day" is a Hard Rock Guitar Instrumental piece that I produced for an Indie-film project I'm a part of. This track is very Led Zeppelin meets Jeff Fiorentino. Built on a solid Shuffle groove guitar riff, that's split down the middle with a multi-mode changing bridge accented by slide and secondary guitar parts. This song's guitar solo is a very Page oriented mixed phrasing solo. Some parts shred, some parts more melodic in nature.This one should be cranked waaaay up for the best sound, it was mixed for film, so it's really wide stereo. - Cream Hog"Cream Hog", is a slick hard rock guitar instrumental groove, with some Van Halen meets Led Zeppelin meets Jeff Fiorentino vibe to it. The song's title is taken from a nickname given to one of the title characters on one of my favorite #BBC TV shows called #Siblings.There's a nice sociopathic groove to the show, and this song has a bit of that kind of theme and feel going on with it as well. "Cream Hog" has some mode changes that happen throughout the song that give it a subtle melodic other worldly feel in spots. Cut down the middle with a semi-melodic MXR Chorus fueled guitar solo, this one is another one worth blowing some speakers over.All of the above said, as always, CRANK IT UP!! The louder the better to take full advantage of the wide stereo mix. - Derailed"Derailed" is a hard rock guitar instrumental that I produced for a filmmaker here in Los Angeles. The song is built on a several solid guitar hooks. The song opens lightly with a delayed picked riff, and kicks in with the same riff modified for hard rock guitar. The bridge of the song changes feel a bit and gets a little melodic, heading into the Vito Bratta direction of things, with accent fillers around the chord changes. This track is cut down the middle with a slick guitar solo that's half melodic two-hand technique and half less melodic and more straight up rock as the underlying chord pattern moves to the bridge riff.This one is mixed in very wide stereo, so it's best through headphones or very loud. If you have a good system it'll crank, as I produced this for film licensing, and they like things that crank in that industry. - HeadPhony"HeadPhony" was written and produced for a film project I'm a part of. This track utilizes some of my favorite types of guitar riffing, which is the use of semi-tones to create what I call off-set notes. Players like Van Halen, Vai, and Satriani use these all the time, but I like to go deep with them and create moving main theme guitar hooks. What I mean by moving, is this song's main guitar riff is all over the fret-board, beginning at the 2nd fret and ending at the 10th. The song's bridge is a more traditional Rock groove with a nice wide stereo spread.The solo is over a unique chord pattern to the song. The solo moves to the key of "F" where as the main song is in "A". The rhythm under the solo while still hard rock is also quite jazzy in the way it progresses, which allows me to change some modes up and play with the key a bit, which is both what the filmmaker who requested this tracks wanted, and what I really enjoy doing during solos.F.Y.I. the song's title comes from my old standby Sennheiser headphones quitting on me after 10 years of use. This song was recorded and mixed using the only other set of headphones I had handy which were a set of "X-Men" headphones!! Yes, I know, "X-Men", while a big deal in the superhero world, are not so much so in the headphone industry. That being said the title "HeadPhony" is used sarcastically of course. No worries, a new pair of headphone awesomeness is on the way, then the "X-Men" and their bad frequency range and I can part ways for another decade.Enjoy the track, and as always... - Cold Beaver"Cold Beaver", is a swing shuffle groove, fast tempoed hard rock guitar instrumenal that I produced for a TV Pilot project I'm a part of here in Los Angeles. This track grooves right along at 174 b.p.m. and incorporates two separate feels. The song's main theme guitar hook is built on a solid shuffle groove, while the song's bridge and middle guitar solo portions are a Jazzier off-beat groove that's more indicative of progressive type hard rock. Cut down the middle with an intricate mostly two-hand technique guitar solo with a warm Vito Bratta mid-range tone is definitely another one of my songs well worth blowing some speakers over, or at least I think so anyway.Had a lot of fun producing this track.
