- Trashcan Messiah"Trashcan Messiah" (a.k.a. Trashcan MessCya), before anyone spends too much time wondering where this track's name comes from, I'll just tell you. At a friend of mine's apartment building the people and manager of the building seem obsessed with where there garbage cans out back are placed. Even moving them 3 feet sends them into a frenzy.So of course, who can resist, we've been messing with them and moving the cans every chance we get. The manager has now stepped in. His name is "Cy", hence the alternate spelling of "MessCYa" in the aka section. This guy is such a moron about asserting his authority over the placement of these garbage cans, that he's been dubbed by me, "The Trashcan Messiah" or "MessCYa" as the case may be. Much to my delight this title has stuck to him like glue. It's sad to see there are people in this world who have such little of a life that they need to become over-lords of garbage cans. That said, the "Trashcan MessCYa" inspired the riffing and vibe of this track, so I named it after him of course, because as always my songs are always inspired and named for things going on in my little world.Beyond the title explanation, this track has a mix of laid back vibe with a wide almost Pink Floyd stereo spread, and a Zeppelin inspired bridge complete with what I call Page style angry slide-work.. The song is cut down the middle with a slick and someone intricate in spots guitar solo that's god a nice warm mid-range tone going on.All of the above said, enjoy the track, and as always, CRANK IT UP!!! and smok'em if you gott'em for this one. - Zombie Coffee"Zombie Coffee", is a Power-Pop meet Hard Rock Guitar Instrumental. Produced for a local filmmaker here in Los Angeles, this track has a catchy melodic guitar-hook, with a slick bridge section, and a rather intricate guitar solo down the middle that incorporates a lot of 2-hand technique and under-bends to give it its feel and vibe. The solo and guitar hook are both very Vito Bratta meets Jeff Fiorentino in style for sure. That said, my large http://JFRocks.com following should dig this track I'm sure..FYI, since people often ask about my titles, and I like to explain them if I can, this song's title comes from a coffee I had recently with my long-time friend Sara-Jane. Coffee with Sara is always dubbed code-name "Zombie Coffee" in my little circle. This is because she's is a bit of a talker to say the least, so adding caffeine to her makes you leave the experience feeling a wee bit on the un-dead side of things. That said, the riffing and soloing on this track are quite "chatty" to say the least..The song's cover-art, is actually quite fitting to the title as wekk because it's "Coffee art". - Funked Up"Funked Up", is a Hard Rock Funk groove guitar instrumental. As always this track was produced for film and television licensing, but I'm always one to share with you guys here on SoundCloud.This track is mixed with wide stereo with a serious classic Gibson EBO bass sound surrounding the whole thing. It's a mix of 80's Hair Metal and late 60 Funkadelic. The tracks main theme riff is a double-stop groove in "B minor" with a 1/2 step flat guitar tuning to give it some extra depth. - Out-Foxed"Out-Foxed" is a heavily (and intentionally) Van Halen influenced guitar riff-monster of an instrumental, produced for film and television licensing, and my Brown Sound tips page at http://JFRocks.com.This track utilizes a classic MXR Phase 90 and Flanger fueled early Van Halen Brown-Sound throughout. The main riffing and vibe of this track is based loosely on Hendrix's classic "Foxy Lady", but only loosely. Even when Van Halen themselves would do a cover song, it was never a note for note thing, it was always embellished or EVH found a riff such as on "Dancing in the streets". That said, while "Out-Foxed" has some of the feel of Foxy Lady, it really is a song of its own. In fact its main theme guitar riff has some pretty tricky VH style double-stops going on that I think add some additional depth to the feel of the piece..Enjoy.... and as always CRANK IT UP!!!! This year I went in a more original song direction rather than semi-cover song based. Had a lot of fun with the Locrian and Phrygian modes on this track, creating a feisty mix of EVIL and almost danceable grooves. Cut down the middle with a rippin' and in some spots haunting guitar solo, this track is surely another one worth blowing some speakers over.The sound on this track comes from the MXR Stereo Chorus coupled with my old Marshall JCM 800. - Dairy Cow Sausage"Dairy Cow Sausage", is serious Hard Rock!!. It's title comes from something fed to me an even/dinner recently. I asked what it was, and the server replied, "Dair Cow Sausage", I, chuckled, and was also kind of bummed, that there you a Dairy Cow in the heartland of America, thinking you have it made in the shade, and get the graze all day until retirement. Then BAM, you screw up one time and don't produce enough milk and end up on my plate as susages at a music industry event. I believe Homer Simpson said it best with "Doooph!!"All that aside, this track is a serious hard rock guitar instrumental, with a Van Halen meets Motley Crue flair to it. This track utilizes 2 MXR Stereo Chrous pedals at the center of its sound. This gives a very wide stereo effect and sort of a Van Halen OU812 kind of guitar tone and vibe to the whole thing.This one is well worth blowing some speakers over so as always... This track has a drop-dead double-stop guitar hook at its center, with a melodic mode shifted bridge/verse section. Down the middle of the whole thing is a very intricate, quirky, warm mid-range toned improvised guitar solo.
