During the reign of King Asa the prophet Azariah came to him with a message from God. Which was for him and the people of Judah and Benjamin to seek the Lord.  Because "for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law."

Asa gathered up the people together, and they made great sacrifices. "They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul." They made an oath with God with great rejoicing. He "removed his mother Maacah from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron."

"But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days." (2 Chronicles 15:17).  In every way Asa did the right thing, and lived the rest of his life with a perfect heart. But there was something lacking. He left the high places intact.

Are there any high places in you that though you are in right standing with the Lord, you have allowed a little illegal sanctuary to abide in you? Beware of the thing that you say that it does not matter much, the fact that it does not matter much matters a great deal to God. You say that you are right with God but still the high places, the eminent places remain.

There is something that you have not obeyed. Are you protesting that your heart is right with God? Yet is there something in your life about which He has caused you to doubt? Whenever there is doubt, quit immediately, no matter what it is.  Are there things in connection with your bodily life, your intellectual life? Only you can answer. Christ will do the rest. Then like Asa, you will have peace and  rest in an internal war-less land.

“The great enemy of the life of faith in God is not sin, but the good which is not good enough. The good is always the enemy of the best.”

Most believers have a daily time they set aside to be alone with the Lord. They find a secluded solitary place. They turn everything off, and shut the door, and go into the reading, prayer and meditation of the word of God. They want the silence of quiet sacred places.

However, there are times when all of these things we do feel as though a bottom fell out. We still show up, pray and read, yet there is something missing, something is gone. A door is shut. There is no trace of this being from the devil. On the contrary, there is a noticeableness of it being from the Lord. A strong pull from Him to stop and be still. Not for an hour or day, but an undetermined amount of time.

After feeding the five thousand, Jesus sent His disciples away in a boat, and then sent all the thousands of people away. Having said goodbye to them He "went into a mountain to pray."

Today there will be a strong pull to hold us back from this kind of detachment. The great adversary knows that everything depends on our frequently saying goodbye to things and people, in order to escape to the place where our God can pour His life into us. Satan has his strong pull. But the stronger pull of Jesus Christ is far superior in power to pull us away from even the way we do things in Him.

Are you feeling that strong pull of Jesus Christ? Then do what He wants. He is working in your life, and most likely getting ready to speak to you. Walk in that path you are being called into. Leave the outcome to Him. Let Him move and He will come to you just as He always does to those who "wait patiently for the Lord."

“Have you been asking God what He is going to do? He will never tell you. God does not tell you what He is going to do; He reveals to you Who He is.” ― Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest: Selections for the Year

Three days ago I saw the scripture, "He turned the sea into dry land, They went through the flood on foot, there did we rejoice in Him." Psalm 66:6. The Holy Spirit made that word stand up and shine. I thought on that verse for three days, and He went on speaking to my heart about why.  The scripture number caught my eye as it was the 66:6 in accordance with the illuminated verse, giving a precise time stamp.

The Lord narrowed the words down to, "there did we rejoice in Him." Then later He narrowed it down even more to one word. "There." He spoke to me about rejoicing with all those that that rejoiced in the Red Sea, with those who went through the Jordan. The Bible was like a tight bud before I saw these words, and became like a budding flower.

I understood that Jesus wants us, the last generation of this age to rejoice as we walk through the dry land of this world, and the sea of mankind as we near Heaven-Land. I fully believe He means it is time for us to begin great rejoicing!  How wonderful it is that we are nearer to heaven than ever before. That we can stand tall, being full of His marvelous light, and marching in victorious song and with the high praises of God. It is our time....It is His time.

"Live every day as if the Son of Man were at the door, and gear your thinking to the fleeting moment. Just how can it be redeemed? Walk as if the next step would carry you across the threshold of Heaven. Pray. That saint who advances on his knees never retreats.  ~ Jim Elliot

A couple of days ago before I was about to make a video asking people to pray with me for Turkey and Syria, the enemy came right in. He tried to tempt me into submission to him out of fear. Fear that if I spoke about prayer, that my channel would be at risk of being penalized or even removed.

The instant I heard the voice of the enemy, something happened. I felt the rush of the Holy Spirit come right in, and a powerful peace filled my body, and I breathed out the words, "If I perish I perish." It was as if I had "tasted of the powers of the endless life, and of the world to come." I felt what I had never experienced before.

It was an other-worldly, heavenly freedom combined with a joy that bore me about on eagles wings. It remained for the rest of the day. Over the next 48 hours the words, "If I perish I perish" continued to resound in my inner ear.

I realized that when we say those words, we do not realize what it really means. We say it in times when we have to do something we do not like or that is hard.  Esther said those words with the knowledge that what she was about to do could possibly end her life. Yet she relinquished her very life, not even knowing the outcome.

When she gave up her life, she gave all the room for God to save all the Jewish people through her. Life came out of death. What are you holding onto that is a breathless idol? Let go of the perishables of this world and this life. Seek for what is unperishable crown. Seek for what is eternal, the imperishable, "the Incorruptible Crown." (1 Corinthians 9:25).

Today I woke up to find that a catastrophic earthquake of 7.8 magnitude struck Turkey and Syria. I saw images of vast, horrific devastation. Buildings collapsed everywhere. More than 100 cities and towns were leveled. And other video footage of multi-storied buildings actively falling down around people who were running for their lives.  Thousands are dead, while many more thousands are trapped under rubble alive.

There are thousands of men, women and children wounded, crying, and severely traumatized. Immediately I contacted one of my dearest friends who lives in Cyprus. She said she and her son were okay, but they all felt it.

I saw an article that said the Syrians were on their knees praying to God while the buildings were falling down around them. They thought it was judgment day. A journalist said, "the after shocks felt like Armageddon." After I had prayed for her and was about to hang up, she said, "Joanie, the Holy Spirit spoke to me while you were praying. I do not want to tell you what to do, please understand. But He wants you to pray for us, for Turkey. He wants you to make a video where you pray."  I knew it was the Lord.

So I made this video where I am calling all of the people of the true and living God to gather with me in prayer for all the people in Turkey and Syria. I do this in obedience to our Loving Savior who loves us with an everlasting love, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He is waiting for us. "I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord."

It is a very common thing for many believers to want to be sanctified in the Lord. The other common thing is when once they have agreed to sanctification, then to try to acquire knowledge in large scale amounts. They believe that the more they study the more they are sanctified. Their mind takes over where their hearts led them.

God told Moses to speak to the rock and it would give forth water for the thirsty to drink. Instead he spoke a hard word to the people. Then he lifted up his hand and took his rod and struck the rock twice.

Then God said to him, "Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them...." Numbers 20:10-13.

There was unbelief in Moses that led to him not sanctifying God in the eyes of the people. What speaks to me is something very simple. It is not in the acquisition of knowledge, but in the believing heart which sanctifies a person. Then a seeking of the Lord's will in your life will be the order. You will hunger and want only His will in exchange for yours. You will never want your own way. This is what it means to walk in the way of the Lord.

Peter said, "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." 1 Peter 3:15.

You see these very words speak about where sanctity must first begin. In the believing heart. Which then will sanctify you, and make you always ready to serve the Lord in the path of His will, in His way. Then Jesus will "see the travail of His soul and be satisfied."

"If your life is broken when given to Jesus, it is because pieces will feed a multitude, when a loaf would satisfy only a little boy."  ~ Missionary from South America

Today Jamie Walden shared some very important information well worth hearing. We are coming into some of the most intensifying times for all people, and most especially the true Born Again believers. The persecution will come, and the time to understand the glory and power of invincible prayer. Listen as Jamie exalts the Lord Jesus Christ as "the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen." There can only be victory for His people who put their full trust in Him. In fact, it is already ours through Jesus Christ.

I was reading a comment yesterday from a young person who said, "Humility and meekness is hard to practice." This was my response. "Always remember, Jesus carries no whip, but is gentle, kind and very patient. Does a tree grow up to the heights of heaven overnight? No, it weathers storms and all kinds of blasts of things, and fair sunny days in between and rains from heaven.

Your character takes time to build and reshape. God wants you to know that in this growing all your life, there is joy. Humility and meekness grow very slowly, and Christ is the Overseer by His Holy Spirit who is always kind. It is not hard, it is easy.

Just keep your eyes on the Lord, not on your performance, but in love to Him. Then those seemingly hard things become easy. If you are met with hardness in a thing, then ask the Lord for grace in it. Offer it up to Him and you will see how fast He will take it. Really it is only one thing at a time.  And be careful not to hold yourself over the flames for every minute thing you think you have failed in.

Babies learn by falling and rising again, they learn to run by falling down and getting up again. Babies are pure and innocent. You are a child of the House of Faith and you are dearly beloved by our Father. Shalom to you in His patient love."

"Beloved, let us love, Lord, what is love? 'Love is that which inspired My life, and led Me to My Cross and held Me on My cross. Love is that which will make it thy joy to lay down thy life for thy brethren."  Lord, evermore give me this love. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after love, for they shall be filled." ~ Amy Carmichael.

When the Levites were chosen by God to serve the Him the first command was to cleanse them. Then the water of purifying was sprinkled on them. After which they were to wash their own clothing to make themselves clean.

Then offerings were made for them for their sins. Afterwards God said, "After that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering...For they are wholly given unto Me from among the children of Israel." (Numbers 8:1-16).

So Aaron did his part as the high priest to cleanse and purify them. However, they had their own part to do by command. To continue on to be cleansed and to offer sacrifices of their sins.

    Bottom line...

They had to be purified in order before they were even to enter into that sacred place of service to God. They themselves then became the offerings of God given to offer offerings. They were set apart, sanctified for God. They were then gifted to the Aaronic Priesthood forever. Now that we are born again, we too are sanctified by the Pure Blood of Jesus Christ. Made righteous in His righteousness. And now we have become the temple of the Holy Spirit forever.

Paul the Apostle said, "Keep thyself pure." We all want to go to the pure sacred places in Christ. But if there is impurity in you, it will set you apart and away from Christ. Jesus wants you to be pure but He will not do it all. He expects you to do your part with a fervent heart of wanting to enjoin yourself to Him in the purity of holiness. Then He will do His part to keep you pure and continue to take you into sacred pure places always with Him.

"I think God wants to make me pure gold, so He is burning out the dross, teaching me the meaning of the fire, the burnt offering, the death of the self-part of me." ~ Amy Carmichael

I was reading in Ezekiel chapter one about the four living creatures. I came across the verses that spoke about the "Spirit being in the wheels." It stated that wherever the Spirit was to go they went. They did not turn to the right or left but only where the Spirit went, and they only went straight forward. When the Spirit stopped the four creatures stopped and let down their wings. Ezekiel 1:12, 19-21.

I thought about the words Ruth spoke to Naomi in (Ruth 1:16-17). They were basically the exact same words being spoken from her heart to her mother-in-law.   Ruth gave up her life and plans. She went as a stranger to Bethlehem. She was a widow herself. She lived out those words till the end of her life.

It says in the Bible that God is longsuffering. He waits long. There comes a point that He will want all of a persons life. Though not everyone will give up their lives for Christ. They are filled with fear in thinking that if they do so, then they will suffer losses and harder, rougher roads. Those sufferings and losses with harder, rougher roads will come anyway.

However those that lay down their lives for the Lord, will never regret it. Jesus will come in right away and fill up those people with more of Himself to the overflow. "Full of glory and joy unspeakable). So loss is only gain to the believer.

Are you feeling like Jesus is calling you to this place of complete surrender? Only you can know the answer. Do not worry about all the details. Ruth only spoke those words once and then walked it out. That is how you are to do it. Remember Ruth's reward. From her came her great-grandson King David, then later Jesus Christ. This is what happens when you completely let go of yourself to God.

Whatever is holding you back, is holding you back from a life Christ is waiting to give you that is full and flowing like a great and mighty river of crystal clear waters. There is only great loving-joy in service to His throne. He beckons, "Come..."

“Lord, I give up all my own plans and purposes, all my own desires and hopes and accept Thy will for my life. I give myself, my life, my all, utterly to Thee to be Thine forever. Fill me and seal me with the Holy Spirit. Use me as though wilt and work out Thy whole will in my life at any cost, now and forever.”
