There has been long standing doctrinal debates on the healing of Jesus. Who gets healed,who doesn't and when. There is a doctrine called Word of Faith which teaches that everyone can and should experience immediate healing the moment they ask God for it.  When they are not healed, the sad outcome of millions that believe this false doctrine, go away disillusioned, let down, defeated and not good enough. They think there is something wrong with their faith. They then begin to try giving every last penny they have to charlatan ministries like the poor during Jesus day who had to purchase doves in the market places. Who did so with slim hope the God of Israel might look their way. 

The only people who make out with this doctrine are those who promise healing for a price. When Jesus was alive on earth, we know that He went about healing everyone that was sick with many diseases, mental illnesses and demonic oppression. The only reason He healed everyone was to show Satan that His Kingdom of Heaven was there to take over. It was a declaration of war. Now that Jesus is in heaven, we are given the great commission. In Luke 4:18-19, Jesus said, " The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord."  This is the same commission that we are given. Yet in the matter of healing, it is in His sovereign right to heal a person immediately, or over a long period of time for His very good reasons. 

If Jesus were to heal everyone instantly, the vast majority of them would be like the nine Lepers that Jesus healed. They went their way to show themselves to the priest, but the tenth one was the only one that returned to fall down at His feet to thank Him. As a person is slowly healed, it is because they have continued in faith to keep thanking Jesus, and to trust Him. Carving the words on their hearts, "My grace is sufficient for thee. My strength is made perfect in weakness"  Even in the darkest, most painful, unbearable paths of their journey, they go to meet the Lord in deeper worship and potent aromatic love. When another wave of healing takes place year after year, they become a great wealth of comfort, richness of mercies of God, and potent pure love that pours out of them into other lives. Those who are quickly healed, though grateful will never know this glorious heavenly beauty. It is important to rest in the everlasting Arm of His love, and as He pours in healing, your life will resemble heavenly citizens. "We Count Them Happy That Endure."

There are so many believers these days that want a real touch from heaven, and many do receive it. The inclination is to want to hold onto that time the powerful presence of the Lord came upon them. How He filled them up with flowing eternal waters from heaven, enveloping them with a love not of this world. These very real experiences are so intensely profound, that many try to keep that powerful experience alive. 

They try to recreate the moment, the mood and essence. They return to that same place wherever it may be in hope they will re-experience it. But mostly they never do, so they keep going back to that same earthly place, but it is empty. You see these experiences from the Lord are so powerful that they are not given often for good reason. If the saints were visited like that all the time, it would ruin them, and it already has. And because of this there are millions of Christians who want only spiritual, supernatural experiences all the time and nothing else. It is as if nothing can be done without always having to hear a word from another person, or from Jesus Himself. They spend half of their earthly lives waiting around for a word, a vision, a prophecy spoken over them before they will move. All the while the gift in them is never given away.  

I fully believe in every gift of the Holy Spirit, and so does the enemy. This is a warning born in love towards everyone who will hear. Be careful that none of you live a life in Christ always seeking for a place, or sensation or you will regrettably waste your precious life here on earth. Live your life in the Spirit of the Living God who dwells within you richly and freely, "for you walk by faith and not by sight."  You are meant to touch other lives everyday with full power in the love of Jesus Christ. His power of love, joy, healing and comfort will flow from you as His vessel of honor. Be careful what you hang your armor on!

The principle of the Gospel is this. The gospel brings life to the receiver and death to the giver. If the gospel brought death to Jesus Christ, why would we think that in preaching the gospel it would be any less for us.  Jesus said, "If anyone would be My disciple, let Him deny Himself, and take up His cross and follow Me." If it killed Him to give life to us, and in turn invites us to do the same, why would we expect that it would any less? The mixture of the gospel is life and death, laughter and tears. Such as it is with us that live the common ordinary life.

This is what Jesus said about His Father in John 10:17, "The reason My Father loves Me is is that I lay down My life, and I take it up again, no one takes it from Me." Jesus was not sentenced to die by His Father, He was allowed to choose. I believe this is why He said "this is why MY Father loves Me. God the Father had this extraordinary plan of winning us for all eternity by having His Son killed. But His Son voluntarily responded. It was not easy for Him to respond. In fact, He spent His whole life by practicing, and even the night before it was still difficult for Jesus. And He said, "God is there another way, is there another way." By saying, "Father if it be thy will let this cup pass from Me."

Many Christians today cry out for another way than the cross. It is very easy to thoughtlessly say, "Yes Lord, I will pick up my cross daily and follow after you." But that is short lived and there was never a real willing heart to do so. They do not want to deny themselves. They do not want to pick up the cross offered to them. If the believer does not pick up their cross, then HOW are they going to be real followers of Jesus Christ? One begets the other. This is the "broad road" of "cross-less Christians." They want a religious experience that costs them nothing, which is why they give nothing away of themselves. Taking up your cross is a voluntary as Jesus' Cross was. "As My Father hath sent Me so send I you." If you have tasted the love of God. If you have tasted of His sweetness at all, then there is no other way to serve Him, but giving up your life. And this is voluntary. This is not a sentence of death at all. We are not sentenced to death, we are just privileged to answer His call.

It is clear that we are now standing at the precipice of the end of the Church Age. In the book of Acts 17:21 it says, "For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing." This describes the modern day Christians at the end of this Church Age.  They are pressing for special revelations of the end day by day. Their bibles are never searched or poured over.  God HAS shown us the end from the beginning, yet it seems to never be enough. And there is such a weariness and hardness to everyone's walk because they have not had a glimpse of heaven. Without that revelation, the Believers then lose strength, perseverance and hope. When you can have a glimpse of the end, then you will push through the middle part of your race. The other world MUST become more real than this one. Forsake this present evil world. The more you spend time in the word and prayer, your eyes will open, and you will "desire a better country, a heavenly land. "Let us therefore go forth unto Him without the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we have no continuing city, but we seek one to come."

The post-modern, ingrained belief is that the preaching of the gospel is done only one way. That is by the seminarian standards of qualified individuals. However, that is not what Jesus had in mind when He gave everyone the charge of the Great commission.  When Jesus stood in the temple He said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him."  Which is exactly what He did. Your commission and mine is to do these things with our very lives, and in so doing, we are legging out the gospel in the common daily life. I full believe the days of the mega churches and celebrity pastors are done. Today is the day we begin to preach the gospel with our lives, in everything we do. There is great power in it, as multitudes are deeply lost, desperate, starving and lost. Animate the gospel in everything you do. "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

Have you noticed that whenever you are compelled to forsake this world and completely live for Christ, all of a sudden it's chaos, noise, everything to resist you? The enemy does not care if you can repeat a verse once in a while, or read a 5 minute meditation. What he does stand up and takes notice of is the saint that makes a deeply heartfelt commitment born out of conviction to draw near to Jesus. He wastes no time to use what is at hand.   He will work to distract and cause delays and bizarre hindrances that rapidly increase. He will cause things to happen from the moment you wake up to incite stressful thoughts, and away goes your peace, and he rules the day. It seems as though you have to fight for every second you are trying with all your might to get away with Jesus. 

You see, Satan understand the value and power of a day.   If Satan can keep you focused on tomorrow, next week and as far away a year, then he has won a great victory of your loss. Each day that you are given on this earth you will never live again. With the setting sun, so goes that day forever in the written annals of heaven there forever. There is so much happening in the world today like no generation has ever seen. Satan has people running from one thing to another trying to keep up with tomorrow. Then when tomorrow comes, they have in a sense already lived it, and they are seeking for tomorrow again. All the while the day is spent in folly, rudderless searching, and over-investment in world news. The hours add up to days, and the days add up to weeks, into years of forsaken time.  

Then when the pureness, and richness of the eternal word is spoken they nibble on it like a snack, then run back into the carnival of this world. Like Jesus said, "The Son of Man must go as it is written of Him." In like manner, the nations and governments will go as it is written of Him as well. Be careful what you are spending your day in, what you are giving your thought life over to or it will swallow you up. Remember that you are given a day at a time to live. Live in each day as if it were your last. How would you want to be remembered? How would you conduct yourself? What would you do or not do? So much is lost living in tomorrow. Abide in Christ on a daily basis, and let Him be your Great Shepherd. You will experience so much and grow like the cedars in Lebanon, or as the Lilies of His valleys. "Today IF you will hear His voice..." listen to Him. "The day is thine, the night also is thine" the Psalmist wrote. That means your days are His days, and you belong to Him today, tomorrow and  into the "Perfect Day" of eternity.

As we are headed in the closing minutes of the church age, there has been an explosion of dreams, visions, and words of prophecy.  When in times past only a scattered few had dreams of the end of the age. The onslaught of millions of people having prophetic dreams has caused confusion, chaos and infighting.  There is a real danger happening.  Multitudes of people are being led astray, throwing all their believing power on one persons dream after another. They run from dream to dream, from vision to vision, like a thrill rides at an amusement park. This causes great instability. There are real dreams, visions and prophetic words out there as well. This is the time to be conservative, discerning like never before!
