Weather in 5, 7/24/2024 Showery downpours & thunderstorms along with some isolated severe thunderstorms will continue into tonight across the Northeast & Mid Atlantic states. Showers and thunderstorms with heavy downpours will be more numerous from North Carolina south to North Florida and then west to the coastal bend of Texas. The west is seeing hot weather in from the Plains to the Rockies to the interior West Coast. Better weather with lower humidity is coming to the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic states Friday and the weekend.

We have tropical moisture producing waves of downpours and thunderstorms and this will continue into Thursday. Humidity levels are high though temperatures remain somewhat subdued thanks to clouds and rain. The Northeast and Mid Atlantic will see improvement Friday and over the weekend as a low humidity dry air mass builds in from the Great Lakes. However across the South and Southeast US we see a continuation of the risk of downpours, thunderstorms, and heavy rain.

Weather in 5, 7/23/2024 Showery Rains with some thunderstorms will continue on and off through Thursday in the Northeast & Mid Atlantic states thanks to a southwest flow of tropical air. A cold front will move offshore Thursday night followed by dry very warm weather Friday through Sunday. Across the Southern US from the Carolinas back through Texas, humid conditions with showery rains and some heavier thunderstorms will continue into the weekend. Summer weather covers the west with hot temperatures and areas of Excessive heat especially in the interior West.

Weather in 5, 7/19/2024 We are enjoying a dry air mass that covers the Great Lakes, Northeast & Northern Mid Atlantic states with low humidity and sunshine today. The weekend is looking mostly rain free for this area. Across the Southern Mid Atlantic and the Deep South, Showery rains and thunderstorms are forecast on and off right through the weekend.

The heatwave and high humidity days are over as drier air arrives during Thursday and lasts into Saturday. Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain will become more numerous across the Southeast and Deep South over the next several days.

This was the hottest day of the summer across parts of the Northeast and much of the Mid Atlantic. 100 degree plus highs were common from New Jersey to Virginia. Now we have thunderstorms and severe weather in parts of the Northeast and Mid Atlantic. A stronger cold front arrives late Wednesday. Ahead of it we have another very hot humid day though high temps should be a bit lower than today. Then as the front nears thunderstorms and severe weather. Shower and thunderstorm chances will be increasing across the South and Southeast US in the coming days.

Weather in 5, 7/16/2024 Extreme heat in the Northeast and Middle Atlantic states produced a wide area of 100 degree plus highs from Virginia to New Jersey. Severe weather is moving across Upstate NY into Northwestern New England while another area of possible severe thunderstorms is moving east from Pennsylvania to New Jersey. Severe thundertorm watches are posted for these areas. One more very hot very humid day is forecast for Wednesday. Thunderstorms & severe weather is likely late in the day. Finally a break in the heat and humidity arrives Thursday and it should last into the weekend.

Temperatures will be approaching or breaking 100 degrees across the Deep South and then northward through the Mid Atlantic states for the next several days. Thunderstorms will be popping up Monday and Tuesday in the Northeast and Great Lakes back to the Ohio Valley and there will designated areas of severe weather risk. Late week brings much needed heat and humidity relief to the Northeast and Mid Atlantic states back to the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley and much needed rain across the South and Southeast US.
