Tropical Storm Debby is now inland and spreading heavy rain and severe weather northward through the Mid Atlantic states tonight and into the Northeast Friday. Flash flooding is likley in many inland locations while along the coast, severe weather is likely along with elevated tornado risk. Weather conditions will finally improve in the Southeasxtern US later Friday and a nice dry low humidity air mass will be moving into the Eastern US over the weekend.

Weather in 5, 8/8/2024 Tropical Storm Debby is now well inland. Heavy rains and flash flooding are occurring across much of North Carolina. Heavy rain and severe weather will sweep north and northeastward tonight and Friday from Virginia to New England. Weather in 5, 8/7/2024 Tropical Storm Debby is heading for a landfall in South Carolina near Charleston tonight and then northward and northeastward up the Appalachians with heavy rain spreading northward through North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Upstate NY. Less rain will fall near the coast but severe weather is a possibility. A weather front is moving southward. It will stall out Wednesday to the south while Tropical Storm Debby continues to pound the Carolinas and Southeast Georgia with very heavy rains and widespread flooding. Debby's rain will head up the coast late in the week bringing heavy rain to parts of the Mid Atlantic and Northeast.

Weather in 5, 8/6/2024 Severe weather and flash flooding will occur this evening and tonight over southern areas of the Northeast and the Northern Mid Atlantic. Severe thunderstorm and flash flood watches are up. In the Southeast US Tropical Storm Debby continues to bring torrential rainfall to Southeast Georgia northeast to South Carolina and Southeast North Carolina. We have details on both systems.

Debby will straddle the Southeast US coast producing torrential flooding rains from South Georgia to North Carolina over the next 3 days. Late this week Debby will likely move northward into the Middle Atlantic and Northeast bringing heavy rain up the coast. Severe weather tonight will occurr from the Upper Mississippi Valley eastward to New England.

Weather in 5, 8/5/2024 Tropical Storm Debby is moving across North Florida & Southern Georgia spreading torrential rains of 10 to 15 inches from North Florida northeastward into the Carolinas over the next several days. Eventually the rain from Debby will head northward through the Mid Atlantic states and into the Northeast later this week. Severe weather with some tornado risk tonight from the Great Lakes to New England.

Joe & Joe Weather Show Podcast LIVE 7:35PM 8/4/2024. Tropical Storm Debby will be come a hurricane tonight before making landfall along the coast of the Florida Big Bend. Then it will slow to a crawl and meander over the Southeast US for much of this week. This could result in potentially catastrophic and historic rainfalls from Southeast Georgia and Coastal South Carolina. The future track of Debby is highly uncertain thanks to very weak steering winds in the upper atmosphere. In the Northeast we have severe weather risks through at least Tuesday as weather fronts pass through.
