The Father's Day weekend looks very good in the Eastern US. Flooding rains continue in South Florida. Severe weather tonight across the Eastern Dakotas to the Northwestern Great Lakes. Long range sees heat and humidity coming to the East next week while heavy rain shifts to the Central and Western Gulf States.

Weather in 5, 6/12/2024 We continue to see nice weather in the Northeast and Middle Atlantic though a weak trough is producing some clouds in NY and parts of New England. The next cold front arrives late Friday with the likelihood of showers, thunderstorms and severe weather. We see severe weather this evening in the eastern areas of the Northern Plains to the Western Great Lakes. Heavy rain and flooding continue in South Florida.

Dry nice weather is coming for Father's Day Weekend. Heavy rain and flooding in South Florida continues over the next few days as tropical moisture continues to move northward. Severe weather tonight will be occurring in parts of Central Texas. Long range sees heat coming to the Eastern US next week.

Dry weather and sunshine cover much of the Eastern US into Wednesday with areas of severe weather tonight along the Eastern Gulf Coast, the Southeast US Coast and the Western Plains. A strong flow of tropical air from the Caribbean will bring heavy torrential rains across Central and South Florida with 10 to 15 inches possible in some areas. Heat is building in parts of the Southwest to Texas. We will see heat spreading into the Eastern US late this week. We will have the outlook for the Father's Day weekend and the long range.

The next cold front could bring shower and thunderstorm chances Thursday and Friday. Low pressure is forecast to form in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico bringing heavy rains to Florida mid and late week but we do not see this storm being a risk for the Mid Atlantic or the Northeast at this time.

Tonight we have a weather front moving through the Eastern US with areas of showers and thunderstorms though the risk for severe weather is limited to small areas in the Middle Atlantic and New England and is expected to be isolated in nature. Over the next several days and into the weekend severe weather risks will be relaxing across the US. Heat is building from South Texas west into Arizona and California as a heat ridge begins to build.

Weather in 5, 6/5/2024 The general theme over the next several days is that severe weather across the US will become more isolated in nature rather than widespread activity. Showers and perhaps a few thunderstorms are possible late today and tonight in parts of the Northeast and Mid Atlantic. Heavy rain for the Lower Mississippi Valley along with some isolated severe weather risk there.

Severe weather tonight once again breaks out from Texas northeasward to Wisconsin and the lower Great Lakes. Later this week as the weather pattern changes, we will see a cooler wetter pattern setting up in much of the Eastern US. Severe weather risks will likely relax in the nation's midsection.
