High Wind Warnings from the Northern Rockies east into the Plains with Winter Storm Watches posted for parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin. The dry weather  in the east will come to an end late Friday into Saturday. Chaotic pattern in the long range.

This could create a rain to snow situation in New England. Texas and Lousiana are digging out from snow with 6 to 12 inches that fell in Central and Northwest Louisiana.

Weather in 5 for the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic states this is the 8th day in a row of no rain or snow. That streak could carry through the weekend and into next week. The only chance for a rain or snow shower will be Friday night into Saturday as a cold front comes through. Otherwise it will be dry with near to slightly above average temperatures. Snow in the Central Gulf States will weaken as a storm in the Gulf of Mexico moves eastward.

Then we talk about our current weather situation. Winter Storm Warnings are up from Northeast Gerogia, Eastern Tennessee, Western and Centra North Carolina into Southeast Virginia with up to a foot of snow possible in the mountains. Low pressure moving across the Gulf States will head to the South Carolina coast and produce snow on the northern flank of precipitation. The Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic is dry and chilly with no issues through the weekend.

Weather in 5 the strong block in the Atlantic is forcing a storm to move across the Gulf States to the Carolinas. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are up from Northeast Georgia to Southwestern Virginia for up to a foot of snow in the mountains. Here in the Northeast the weather is dry and chilly right through the weekend. Another storm takes a southern route early next week.

Joe  & Joe Weather Show Tuesday January 5, 2020 A strong block will keep things quiet and chilly for the rest of the week in the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic. A new storm system will be moving across the deep South and head for the Carolinas and then out to see. Some areas in the south will see some snow from this, Mainly from Northern Georgia to Southern Virginia late this week. A second storm will follow early next week and take a similar course to start but could have a more northerly impact up the coast. A colder weather pattern is emerging in the long range.

Weather in 5 Blocking in the North Atlantic and Eastern Canada means weather systems are stuck, leaving the Northeast and Middle Atlantic states high and dry into Friday but on the chilly side. The next two storm systems will track across the south and this could bring some snows to the Southern Mid Atlantic and parts of the Southeast Friday and again next Sunday night into Monday.
